I was actually thinking the same thing!! The movie is a little rushed and strangely paced imo but a series would've been better at properly showing their dynamic as rivals and as lovers. idk, I guess the relationship could've been even more believable if they took their time with it.

Except everytime book Alex mentions their height difference. But, Taylor’s face is perfect as Alex. He’s exactly how I pictured him. Just minus the height. Hahaha
The book's description of Henry is dang near a description of Nick!😘 (He's such a fabulous actor he cd embody James Bond.😁) And there's a swoon-y comment in the book abt Alex's eyelashes!💕

Idk if anyone's gonna get this reference, but istg visually Taylor and (blonde) Nicholas look EXACTLY how I imagined Percy Jackson and Jason Grace lol and their banter, both being so charismatic and funny while trying to understand things abt the other, yet also being very similar in some ways... it's just what I envisioned while reading 😭

It's honestly such a cool and weird concept! Like, the English accent I can do comes to naturally and then I have to physically, consciously force myself to talk in my regular accent. it's cool that you can switch it up like that. I can only immitate different accents right after hearing them and it comes out perfectly but then if I'm put on the spot randomly I can't do it at all lol It's really weird.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be confrontational so don't take this the wrong way, I really want to keep my comment section all positive and wholesome. But I still feel like I have to say this so bare with me, please. I understand why some people feel this way and I can't blame you (I used to hold a similar opinion) but first of all, that's not what queerbating is. The movie is literally gay representation, nothing ambiguous about it. And they don't queerbait in interviews either as far as I've seen. Second of all, no one owes us to come out when we want to or EVER for that matter. People should be allowed to keep their sexual identity private or not, take as much time to figure themselves out as they need to, or even just remain unlabeled indefinitely. It's nobody's business but theirs IMO. I'm just happy kids nowadays can grow up seeing queer love a little more often now in movies and shows. Btw, I don't know if I'm qualified to say this but I can only speak from my own experience - if anyone who feels like they can't quite fit a label reads this, I just hope you know that you are valid, you are enough and you don't owe it to anyone to tick a box. You can be trans and not be compelled to transition...you can be bi and only ever date people of the opposite sex (just coincidentally or because you prefer it for whatever reason) and you can be anywhere else on the spectrum without even knowing where exactly yourself. It's all good. Just be kind and respectful and live your life as happily as you can. The social dynamics are already so messed up, no one needs the extra pressure to conform. That's it. :) ily. xx
