yes!! 290 works best :) BUT I need to use lots of bronzer and colour correct around my mouth! I've tried 300 and 310 too but they didnt work out for me, 290 is my best bet :) I have updated videos using both 290 and 310! Just search "Zaahirah Munif Fenty Beauty" and they'll pop up :)
I think the foundation looks perfect on you! You just contour and highlight and boom! I dont even think you’re a Mac NC40.. you look nc35 max! People in the comment think they know way too much of other peoples skin tones! Your end result looks amazing!

But it is the exact color to my skin. 340 and 310 in the sephora store were such a huge difference in undertones. 340 has pink and 310 has yellow You should try and get a sample in 300-310, i think one of the two would match your skin color perfectly. thanks for the video :)

Zaahirah Munif 290 would be too light hun! I am 290 and I am lighter than you and it's still a tad light on me. Also has more olive undertones not really warm. Definitely try 310!! It's warmer than 300.
Zeiri Lantigua ...what Mac shade are you? How did you find the 270 and 290.? I'm nc42 but with more neutral undertone I think...310 I found too yellow and 300 I'm finding a lil warm too, was going to get 290 but not sure if this will be too light for me. Thanks
i am NC40...so far 290 is the closest. 270 was too pink. I am trying to 250 to see and its not bad. The undertone is good it's just slightly yellow. So for me its 290 as my shade. Now I know I am more neutral than warm for this foundation formula specifically, because wall the warm shades were too orange once it oxidized.
Best review I've seen so far! Mainly because of the swatches 😍 What's crazy and awesome about Fenty it really focuses on all of the color nuances of our skin, so that even if 2 people are NC40 (because 42 is too dark and 35 is too light), they may be different shades in this one. It's like getting all of those in between numbers that MAC doesn't have - NC39 or NC41 LOL 😍 With that said, 290 or 300 would be good. I'm an NC42 and wear a 320 warm peach (I can make 310 work also, but it's more yellow). Anywho! LOL great job - new subbie here :)

Jenny Thornton ...okay so for my nc42, I have tried. 260,270,290,300,310. 260 and 270 are a no no for me. 310 too yellow so is a no, again. 300 was okay but little too orange but wasn't bad I can work with it. 290 was good for me but could do with a touch of warmth but liked it the best so far so this will be perfect for night outs, but if I mix the 290 and 300 it gave me a good match for daytime. Finally, got there eventually 🙂
Zaahirah, my sister wears the same shades as you in other brands, wears bobbi brown honey, and her colour was 310 in fenty. It looks amazing on my sister. Rihanna's shade is 340 and it was quite a bit darker than 310. I wear warm natural in bobbi brown and 310 also looked good on my skin, probably because of the undertone, much better than the lighter colour that I was colour matched to actually - it gave my skin a nice summer glow and cut the pink in my skin. I think it would look good on you too!
The biggest problem as an Indian girl while matching my foundation shade is the darkness around the chin region. Plus its advised to match foundation from there.
OMG I love that you do the shade swatches for the foundations that you use! I find it is a good way to compare the foundation. I always look forward to your foundation reviews! Are you going to exchange the foundation for a different shade, if so which shade?
Happy to hear that! :) We can't do exchanges here in NZ after we've opened and used it, so I would probably just use a couple drops of my foundation darkener to make it work :) If I could swatch them in person i would check out the shades 270, 290 and 300 maybe? It's hard to say as I haven't seen them in person and don't want to recommend anything incase it's not correct :)

I think matching the foundation yourself would be best! walk around with it on your face outside in natural light for a bit and see if it dries down a bit darker :) i love the finish too! x

I do have to say when I went into Sephora they shade matched me to 240, which I thought was light but after the foundation "dried/ oxidized" it was pretty close to my skin shade. I usually wear Milani 06 Sand Beige, MAC 240, MUF Y405. So I was very surprised that the Fenty Beauty 240 actually was a match for me. Of course I added some bronzer/ a light contour. Was hoping you'd upload a video like this so thank you! :) The shade comparisons are always helpful but with this foundation, it's said to "set" (not quite oxidize) so it dries down a little darker which might be why it looked okay during swatches and then washed you out after application. Anyway I'm usually the same shade as you so while I'm glad I can write off the 200 shades, I hope you find a way to use the foundation once your 420 sample runs out!

You are getting shades these are much lighter with neutral undertones which can make you look ashy and grey. Just because it's a higher number doesn't mean it's darker. It's just going by undertones. I'm lighter than you but 310 or 320 because I'm warm undertones.
Try 290! It has olive undertones. Maybe even 300 would work bc it's warmer than 290, but it doesn't have olive undertones. We're very similar skin tones. My foundation shades are very close to/the same as yours. I originally thought I might be 240 too, but it's too pale
It's so hard finding foundation when you're olive. I wear nc46 with Mac and 360 with fenty. It's also neutral olive like 290, but I'm Black so my skin color is deeper. Still green though 😅
Try Fenty foundation in 250 it's a tad bit darker with a stronger yellow undertone. Hopefully you can exchange it. Thank you for the video it was so helpful. Xo
Maria Diaz, I wear almost all the same shades as her in the foundations she listed in the description box, and I was matched for fenty with 250. It works but it's still not my fav. I like 290 on me, probably since it has an olive undertone but it's only a perfect match if I add a bit of 300 to it..... what a struggle huh?!?! 😜
exactly the same happens to me with mac foundation - my skin gets super red. it doesn't happen with any other but mac. i wonder whats in there that makes it like that :(
hey! I wouldn’t suggest 240 if you are wanting to know what shade matched me, it was too light and I had to mix it with 330 as I mentioned in the video. I filmed another fenty beauty foundation video trying out 290 if you want to watch that to figure out your best shade? again it wasn’t the perfect match but it was a lot closer then 240 :) I would suggest going into store to get shade matched if it is an option!

I’m an nc37 in Mac and they said 270 would fit me but it looks a bit peachy and 290 is a bit too yellow on me. The struggle is real 😩😂😂

It's so hard finding foundation when you're olive. I wear nc46 with Mac and 360 with fenty. It's also neutral olive like 290, but I'm Black so my skin color is deeper. Still green though 😅

Nars. Fenty is for oily skin.
Try Fenty foundation in 250 it's a tad bit darker with a stronger yellow undertone. Hopefully you can exchange it. Thank you for the video it was so helpful. Xo

Maria Diaz, I wear almost all the same shades as her in the foundations she listed in the description box, and I was matched for fenty with 250. It works but it's still not my fav.
I like 290 on me, probably since it has an olive undertone but it's only a perfect match
if I add a bit of 300 to it..... what a struggle huh?!?! 😜

exactly the same happens to me with mac foundation - my skin gets super red. it doesn't happen with any other but mac. i wonder whats in there that makes it like that :(

Yes that’s correct, I mixed in 340 with 240 the second time :) ps I also have an updated video using 290 which is a lot closer to my skintone!! :)

hey! I wouldn’t suggest 240 if you are wanting to know what shade matched me, it was too light and I had to mix it with 330 as I mentioned in the video. I filmed another fenty beauty foundation video trying out 290 if you want to watch that to figure out your best shade? again it wasn’t the perfect match but it was a lot closer then 240 :) I would suggest going into store to get shade matched if it is an option!
