We're Adam and Steph, we're a British Art couple that love to make art together despite both having disabilities. Adam is colourblind and Steph has a neurological disorder which means she has a tremor, this throws some extra obstacles our way when it comes to creating art but we still enjoy the process anyway! The amount of self-control you guys had while they had a half-price sale on. I would have left with probably some POSCA's lol if you guys are adventuring and need another idea - The Works have a half price art sale at the moment too which also includes a lot of their wooden stuff too. I went and got their fairy houses for £1 each last week to paint (thinking it could be a two in one video idea of an outdoor vlog at the works and then if you did buy wooden stuff you could do a second video of you painting said items) 💕
HAHA believe us it was hard! But we wanted to just window shop and have a look around with you guys!

Omg this store puts American art stores to shame 😂 I wish I could go!! At my local store the copics and poscas are locked in a case, it’s so weird to see them chilling out in the open lol

It’s pretty much like Michaels and Hobby Lobby in the states. Are there no Blicks or Jerry’s near you? Now those are amazing art stores .
I always think the opposite! When i see videos of American art stores they look waaayyyy cooler than a British art store. However in this video Hobbycraft look like they’ve upped their game. I’ll have to go again and pick up some new stuff! ✨🥰👌🏼
@@chubbyjaydraws We don't have Blicks or Jerry's down south in the US, we don't even have Michael's within 6 hrs of me 😭 we have a Hobby Lobby that's 96% decor & bare minimum art supplies it freaking sucks 😤
If you have an Ollie's Bargain Outlet near you, they usually have a fairly decent art section if you know where to look
I can fully understand Steph's obsession with ink bottles. They are so well packaged, it reminds me of delicious treats. Yum yum

9:14 I think the "T" is for your garden. You burn onto it whatever plant name you have and then stick it into the ground, into the garden so you remember what the plant is when it's growing.

I’m glad Steph is feeling well enough to do these outings! Also a tip for the W&N gouache, if you’d like to test them a good one to buy is the permanent white, I believe it’s one of the most opaque of any brand and it’ll give you a big range of colours if you mix it with your current paints so you can get a lot of bang for your buck!

Aww I loved your video from a few years back where you went shopping for Art supplies. Definitely one of my favourites. Doodledate and looking at Art supplies are two of my favorite things. Can't wait to see what you do with these bird houses and the lill embroidery ring. I'm glad you guys are making a few videos outside again, hope it is not to much of a strain on you two thou, take care.

Walking through a craft store is how I exercise 🤣 I have a cricut joy! Bought it because it was ✨smol✨ but it works just as nicely as it bigger siblings 😆 good for smol spaces and projects.

I have the joy too & with the help of YT, I’ve been able to do the print & cut where I print my own designs and then cut them out with the joy!
I'm in Canada. I like your various British art supplies. whenever I saw the price in £, I try to convert those to Canadian dollars. It's roughly $2 CDN = 1 £. I started painting with acrylic paints. Now I prefer watercolors. Here in Calgary, we have a dry climate so I buy watercolor pans instead of tubes because the latter dry out too quickly. I like that the Fabric section is called Haberdashery. I have to remember that. Lovely tour. Thanks.

my grandma taught me and my sister how to cross stitch when we were really young, we did it after school when we would go to their house, but when we got older and stopped going over we stopped doing it. She passed a few years ago and my sister and i inherited all of her cross stitch stuff. she was always reading, knitting, or cross stitching, so she had a LOT of stuff. like five storage bins worth of stuff. we haven't gone through all of it yet but i've pulled out things to practice with and do little projects, for the first time in probably 13 or 14 years. i'm having a lot of fun practicing again! that display hoop you got is so cute

Currently watching, but want to comment for the support! The signs make remind me of Michaels because they also use red and white. In America the posca pens would be locked on the wall along with any alcohol markers.

In most places I go to they are! You have to get an employee to unlock it and they will usually carry it to the checkout counter. I live in a rather large city though so that might be why.
It’s more than likely a thing everywhere now.
I used to work at a local Michaels in a small town for 7 years and all our Poscas were locked up. (Copics too)
They never used to be, but people would just come in and empty the shelves, stealing them all, so they ended up being locked away,
This was so nice to watch, especially the cross-stitch section because embroidery is my life-blood at the minute!

I was really into acrylics and if you ever want to get them i’d recommend just the three primary colors, black and white. You can also get a cheaper brand and to thicken the paint up you can add cornstarch!

My mom has a CriCut and she can do a bunch of stuff with it. You can make stickers! I am a classroom teacher, and she makes all sorts of things for my kids. She especially loves to use it to make cut out cards. I am not sure how much they cost in the UK, but I have a feeling you two might love it. It might be worth saving up for.
On a side note, giant letters are probably more of an American thing. They are very popular in schools. I have giant letters that spell out read.

That Hobbycraft is significantly better stocked than mine. There’s copics I’m so jealous. I live 5 minutes away from a large Hobbycraft but there is none of that stuff.

An idea I had from the aida cloth is cross stitch/embroidery! It's something simpleish to learn and I feel like you two could make some superrrrr cute things! (It's something I really love. I have a whole Pinterest board if anyone wants a link 🥺🥺♥️♥️)

Glad you guys enjoyed getting out and thanks for sharing it with us! Adam? I have a hard time believing that YOU have no use of kneaded erasers! Working with graphite and just about every drawing tool/medium a kneaded eraser is simply a go to supply! I use it every time I sketch out my watercolor plans, every time! I believe that this is the first time you have shocked me! Well I hope you enjoyed the shopping spree I know we did! I look forward to watching your next video.
I agree with Adam. I know kneaded erasers areso useful, I just don't like how they feel and how they always seem to collect dust and hair.
We don't have Posca products in my country, I'd lose it if I saw that many posca colored pencils on sale lol. And the sparkly thread is sooo pretty, it would make such amazing friendship bracelets!

im fairly new to it but my mom got me a cricut explore and I use it for like paper cutting for cards. i also cut some vinyl that you can iron on an made shirts for a trip. its fun but its kinda price intensive for some stuff. you can do your designs digitally (I usually draw mine on an iPad) and then it can cut out the shapes.
(im sorry if ive commented this before, ive been watching your videos for years ok) winsor & newton is The Brand in sweden as well! meaning you will find them in every shop that sells art supplies, pretty much, and then what else they have varies greatly. and the posca pens are usually locked up here, but just the loose single ones, packs will be out on shelves. same with copic markers. anyway, more importantly: parrots with parrot pens would be such a fun and cute video, doodle date drawing animals is a|ways a good time!! im just saying 👀

I've recently discovered the joy of Hobbycraft online while looking for art supplies, I don't think we have a store here in NI so I wasn't aware of it before. But I've bought so much stuff from them already and still see things I want to order next lol. Thanks for the wee tour of the place 😊

I use a silhouette portrait its smaller than a cricket machine but I love mine. I find i have more freedom with a silhouette they have a bigger one called the cameo that has many different size with the biggest one is 24 inches.
Haberdashery is a good word
23 quid for those copic sets is a /steal/ (23 quid is equivilent to 27USD) Here in the states those sets are about $54 so about 50 quid.
That background music you had going through the shop made it sound like there was some guy just kind of shouting in the distance.
hobbycraft is so expensive! the one that came to the closest city pretty much caused the smaller art supplies stores to shutdown since they couldnt keep up with the amount of stock hobbycraft could

I have a Cricut joy, you can do so much more than just the vinyl stickers. It’s reallly worth its. Oney. I make cards as well. The programma it works with is. Free. It’s called design space. You can try making things in there and see if you like it or not. I use it for so many things. I even make T-shirt with it

Also I dunno if there are any B&M shops near you, but they have art sections with products under the name 'DecoTime', and I'd love to see you both review them. Especially as they have watercolour sets that are obviously meant to be like the Kuretake ones!

Also I love you guys' channel so much and i wish I could visit the UK and go shopping at Hobbycraft! Over here in America we have Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and Joann's. I mostly go to Michaels and I got these cute little wooden bird houses that were like 1 dollar.
I've not used the cricut machines yet, but I do know they're really good and usually cheapest during Black Friday if you guys are thinking of buying one!! Loved the video!!! 💗

Posca markers art really good on canvas.
I quite enjoy my cricut but honestly i should have gotten a better printer to go with it because the one i have is so picky with sticker paper and i mainly make stickers with the cricut. I have had a good time using regular photo paper and running it through my Xyron but now all of the xyron refills i use have been sold out for months :(
