For my entire life I have found the sound of someone turning the pages on a book and measuring things extremely relaxing and I never understood why. Until today, So now I don't only know why I feel relaxed but I know where to look and what it's called, and this is THE best video I have found.

One of the best things about Maria is that she actually comes up with some creative different ideas as compared with some others. There are a couple of others I've found that I like also. But it seems many of the other people just fall into only doing the same ol stuff like scraping things on the microphone and whispering back and forth from side to side . And some of it isn't relaxing at all but rather just loud abrasive scraping noises. Brushes, Combs, tapping plastic and metal objects constantly. Maria is one of the top if not the top in the ASMR videos. She comes up with some different things to do yet keeps that soft, gentle, relaxing quality she has for triggers etc.
More than any other ASMR video, this one I come back to over and over. No other manages to evoke the same level of response, and for as long. Perfectly done.

Since this is one of the most watched ASMR videos out there, I thought I would give some helpful advice to all new ASMR viewers: Warning! Do not mix your ASMR videos in with your Watch Later playlist. One minute I was falling asleep to the soft sound of Maria's voice and crinkling paper, and next thing I knew, I was jolted awake from trance blasting in my ears. Lesson learned.
***** True, any non-ASMR playlist for that matter. I just found this out because I would throw all of the videos I want to keep into my Watch Later list. Now I make lots of individual playlists broken up by category. Much easier to find things and not run into this issue again.
I had a similar experience with a series that my dad recorded on VHS thirty-five years ago. We have the entire original "Cosmos" series recorded, and when I would watch those, I would often doze off because of the spacey music and Carl Sagan's soothing voice, and then I would be jolted awake by the 70s-80s PBS ID at the end. You know which one I'm talking about!

6 or 7 years ago I left a review of a Bob Ross video on Amazon, stating that while I don't paint, I found Bob's voice hypnotic and soothing. I recalled how in college my girlfriend would ring me up and say, "Bob's on! Bob's on!" and we'd watch Joy of Painting even though neither one of us knew one end of a brush from the other. Some lovely soul left a comment explaining that I was probably experiencing ASMR and I should look into videos about it. So I did. It led me to Maria, who was then not very well known. Now I can't do without these videos. They utterly destroy stress and tension. She's just amazing.

Looking back on your older videos and having a smile. From the first couple years to this period and on, you've really become more confident, calm, mature, etc. I still got tingles at the casual and "real" feeling of the old ones. I think because they're not as planned and because they're not polished and perfect they feel more natural and cause the same ASMR I get if a receptionist is talking softly while working or while watching a librarian put books away, hearing newspapers crinkle, etc. This video is so fitting because I'm in a wedding this week and have to try on my tuxedo tomorrow! I didn't even think of that when I clicked it!
I didnt know there was a name for this "sensation" i get from certain sounds and experiences, but apparently it is ASMR... After finding this out, i then found this video, 6 hours before i usually go to bed. Anyway, within 10 seconds my head tingled and popped like crazy, and those sensations just intensified as time went by, from my head, to my neck, down my spine, and then i noticed i felt incredibly sleepy, and by the end of the video i went to bed, fell asleep in seconds, woke 10 hours later feeling totally refreshed and even recalled a very vivid dream of shopping while wearing a top similar to Maria's in this video. Thank you so so much for this video, i am now about to watch it again, this time 2 hours after my usual bedtime =) it is obvious you enjoy doing these, and it really looks like a lot of effort went into these, you have every right to feel proud of yourself, these videos truly are magical. I don't think I can experience ASMR, but I quite enjoy watching it. I don't get tingles, but I get sleepy and a weird emotion taking feeling, like everything is smooth water. I don't know the name for it but it is a mix between calming, emotionless, and love.

6 or 7 years ago I left a review of a Bob Ross video on Amazon, stating that while I don't paint, I found Bob's voice hypnotic and soothing. I recalled how in college my girlfriend would ring me up and say, "Bob's on! Bob's on!" and we'd watch Joy of Painting even though neither one of us knew one end of a brush from the other. Some lovely soul left a comment explaining that I was probably experiencing ASMR and I should look into videos about it. So I did. It led me to Maria, who was then not very well known. Now I can't do without these videos. They utterly destroy stress and tension. She's just amazing.

I never knew that anybody else had these same reactions and was completely unaware of the youtube videos................I have felt these for years and years, since I was a child and find it very comforting
I remember being a small child, around 4 or 5 and my mom would be vacuuming in another room in the house and I would just lie there and feel amazing, it would fade away as she got too close but I distinctly remember that feeling.
It is funny when you find out that those tingles that you thought were unique to you are shared by a huge community of people.
Me too! The older teachers with the soft voices always made my head feel funny, and I never knew why. I only found these videos yesterday and now I get it! :)

Looking back on your older videos and having a smile. From the first couple years to this period and on, you've really become more confident, calm, mature, etc. I still got tingles at the casual and "real" feeling of the old ones. I think because they're not as planned and because they're not polished and perfect they feel more natural and cause the same ASMR I get if a receptionist is talking softly while working or while watching a librarian put books away, hearing newspapers crinkle, etc.
This video is so fitting because I'm in a wedding this week and have to try on my tuxedo tomorrow! I didn't even think of that when I clicked it!
I didnt know there was a name for this "sensation" i get from certain sounds and experiences, but apparently it is ASMR... After finding this out, i then found this video, 6 hours before i usually go to bed. Anyway, within 10 seconds my head tingled and popped like crazy, and those sensations just intensified as time went by, from my head, to my neck, down my spine, and then i noticed i felt incredibly sleepy, and by the end of the video i went to bed, fell asleep in seconds, woke 10 hours later feeling totally refreshed and even recalled a very vivid dream of shopping while wearing a top similar to Maria's in this video.
Thank you so so much for this video, i am now about to watch it again, this time 2 hours after my usual bedtime =) it is obvious you enjoy doing these, and it really looks like a lot of effort went into these, you have every right to feel proud of yourself, these videos truly are magical.

***** oh so am i Maria, so am i =) i watched your hairdressing one last night and i got the same effect, and i am sure my dreams were influenced again but i also dreapt of a scary dream involving my family right before waking up, in fact i woke myself up by swearing out loud, so any dreams i had prior to this have now been lost in my subconscious somewhere, no doubt they will resurface when least expected. But another restful night apart from the last final seconds =) anyway, i have an appointment at a hairdressers next week, might ask if i can have you doing my hair, worth a try eh =D keep it up, fab work, love n xhugzx

I don't think I can experience ASMR, but I quite enjoy watching it. I don't get tingles, but I get sleepy and a weird emotion taking feeling, like everything is smooth water. I don't know the name for it but it is a mix between calming, emotionless, and love.
