When it’s someone’s life and one of your own, that’s why they took the boat out. That 20 minutes more on the water could’ve given him health issues.
I thank god they found him. His mother was hysterical . It’s like you bore that child. Your face was the first one your kid sees and vice versa .

Hours of treading in the open ocean. Omg the mental and physical stress and exhaustion. Whew the relief of seeing his family show up! I'm so glad he didn't give up
Leave along that mental and fatigue what about sharks and other predators in that waters very lucky boy
Thankfully, he was wearing a wetsuit, which helped keep him afloat the whole time AND kept him warm (the neoprene material wetsuits are made from are both buoyant and they help keep you warm by trapping a thin layer of water between your body and the neoprene, which locks in your body heat as it warms the neoprene).
I think the mental exhaustion must've been much more taxing than the physical exertion, as there was only a sliver of light left in the sky, and although he had a GPS, they're known not to be exactly precise. So once it was dark, it would've been much more difficult to find him.
Plus, as @biggmannoman9025 pointed out -- sharks, and sharks hunt at night.

I got lost at sea for an hour after my friend’s boat sank. No one knew we were there. Boats passed nearby and no one saw us, it is the worst feeling. I had to make peace that this was it, I was a goner.
Out of no where a small boat saw us and that was the best moment of my life.

Angels were on his side guiding this family. It was almost dark out and he would've been impossible to see just a half hour later. God bless this family
I was headed 4 Prison or Death by 21 or less, no one believed I'd make it, not even me. If it weren't for God, I WOULD NOT be here🙏 I still feel guilty that he saved me instead of those who are more deserving. I can never repay him, so I'll continue to spread his word & help those in need (clothes, food, blankets, etc...) Many blessings to you & yours🙏

Yes, praise our Heavenly Father. He was really shining a light on Dylan that day. I saw someone else said never dive alone. I add a gps added to a diver, something like a snow skier would have been more helpful actually than having a buddy then two May have been lost. But I think buddy diving is a rule of thumb. Currants are so strong. Take it from someone who knows. My husband drowned in a strong currant. 😢 So happy for this family.😁💞🙏
Not really. Notice the diver marker buoys. They were heading to that location. That's what he clung to waiting for rescue. The coast guards was enroute by sea and air. The family was closer, so they headed out to the area he went diving at.
@@freedomforcaster1783He was with at least two other divers. How else would the family know where to head to try and find him. The other two divers left the 3 dive buoys to mark the location.

This gave me chills 1. To be the family to see your loved one is ALIVE and 2. To be the guy thinking, it’s getting so dark I might die, and then see your family coming to the rescue. Ughh this is so wonderful.

As a diver who once got carried out to the blue by strong current when my team and I were surfacing, it really is a scary experience, thankfully one of dive operators' boat pass by and spotted us and alerted our boat to fetch us.

The searching must start right the way and it must be done in circles that formed from where they despaired and must go from inside to outside because the water can take you anywhere around that area. And when you get lost at the night and you can't see the shore make sure you stay still saving your energy once the sun come out start swimming in the direction if the sun because the sun always come out in the west what mostly the time is over the land. During the night we can also find a way back to the land if you you know how to read the stars!

The fact that they found him is absolutely incredibly amazing. The chances of finding a solo person in the ocean are between slim and none. He's a lucky guy
I'll bet he doesn't go solo diving in the ocean again, & has some kind of tracker on him even with another diver along. Man! If that was a movie, they'd have Matthew McConnahy play him.
His friends left buoys to mark the place, but the current swept him a mile further away. The family was in the right area but still, it was a needle in a haystack situation!

He wasn’t alone he had a crew with him he just happen to get swept by a strong current. Nobody noticed. He was reported missing after they realized he never emerged.

My childhood friends brother in law, Tim Obey, went missing off Jacksonville beach while scuba diving almost two years ago. It’s the most gut wrenching feeling to hear that they can’t find someone on the ocean, you can’t help but go to a dark place almost immediately. He is gone, but not forgotten.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Dylan along with his two friends went for a final dive around the West Sambo Reef when he got caught in a current that drew him below the surface and spat him around a mile away. Dylan’s friends who managed to save themselves immediately notified the US Coast Guard and his family, prompting them to launch an immediate search operation before the sun sets in.
It was around three hours from the time he went missing in the shark-infested water, while his family rigorously searched for him. His family finally found him floating near a reef and managed to rescue him safely.

The biggest sigh of relief that you can ever imagine or feel in your entire life. And the tears definitely flow for a while.

OMG those I shouldn't be alive episodes. Where professionals miss the lost. It's too difficult to see them in the water. Maybe they have better equipment nowadays. Because I've seen some horror stories about this kind of rescue. People were attacked by sharks n jelly fish. That one I shouldn't be alive episode where they was in this boat. Completely exposed n the sharks kept attacking them. The survivor said that the dolphins came to their rescue. Running the sharks off. But they was like out there for days 5 days or more. Their prize boat had capsized n they manage to transfer to the smaller boat. The captain n his girlfriend did not survive. The captain decided to go to the store he thought he seen. He n this other dude. Started drinking the sea water n the captains GF injuries from the first boat escape killed her. Ohh n the two survivors. My brother was gone for 6 hours in the sea off Costa Maya. I thank God he was found his true friends and wife never gave up.!

I was in the navy we had a man go overboad in The middle of the night we we're unable to find him. This kid is so lucky his family got to him before it was dark. God was truly on his side

I had been lost at sea as a teen 60 years in the past. A fishing trawler saw me and came to my rescue. It brings back the terrible memories of the possibilities by dying of either thirst or drowning and the loneliness. I was adrift about 16 hours before being spotted and remember how grateful it felt to be found and seeing another human again.😮 Watching this gave me an awful flashback and tears.

The guy driving the boat guided them. If it was god then god would be responsible for him getting lost in the first place... and if god creates peril to then rescue you from it sounds like toxic divinity to me
If angels guided them, they wouldn't have had to search for several hours. They worked ceaselessly while in a constant state of dread and panic. Don't be so degrading towards people. Especially those in the midst of tragedy.

Usually if a scuba diver isn’t found right away, they’ve passed away. The fact that they saw him in that big vast ocean is a miracle. Btw, I am NAUI and PADI certified.
He was scuba diving with a cousin and a friend and the current took him under. By the time he surfaced he was hundreds of feet away from their boat. Dylan was able to see his friend and cousin on the boat, but they couldn’t see him. They even drove around for 30 minutes looking for him but since their dive boat didn’t have lights on it- they had to go to their grandfathers house and get his bigger boat. They had contacted the coast guard but couldn’t and didn’t want to wait for them. So they set out using the coordinates of where he was last seen and they thankfully found him floating on a bamboo stick and also some bouies he cut and made into a raft.
His family came tf through for him. I get chills every time I see this! Thank you, Lord!
