Lee, thank you so much for speaking openly, I have been feeling exactly the same now for months and had pretty much decided to sell all my fluid art equipment and just give up, because I felt like I was just following the crowd and not coming up with anything unique and original of my own. You've inspired me to carry on and realise that everything I create is unique in my own way. Thank you so so much.

Thank you so much for tagging me as your inspiration! You did a fabulous job! As I was watching I saw the cracks in your rocks and thought “wowww if that were me I’d fill those cracks with gold!” Just an idea for you 🥰 if you use a needle nose bottle you can get it right into all those lovely cracks like a river of gold ✨

Lee, I can, very much, relate to your feelings of ‘being a fraud’. I have been feeling this way for approximately 22 months. I have actually stopped painting and am now placing a resin top coat, on all my pieces, in the hope of selling them. I will go back to painting again, once all my finished pieces are resined . Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for speaking about your feelings so openly and honestly. Thank you, Jeremy for the valid points you made, about art and how we are inspired by other artists.
I love your piece, Lee and maybe your art is heading in another direction, with you using resin. Jeremy, your straight pour is amazing ♥️💥🙏👏👏👏👏

Thank you Fiona. I think we both need to stick at it and find our feet and become comfortable with saying we are artists. We will get there

Jeremy, I love your straight pour! Normally I just don't like the white blobs in the middle, but this one had tons of interest, it looks pleated which I think is terrific!
Lee, I love your textured piece, it's just elegant! More than that I love it when artists are fearless. I love to see artists just go for it and bring us along on a first attempt like this!
    Thanks guys!

OMGoodness, how sweet of Janese. Her work is incredible. Awwwww, Jerbear, love your pep talk to Lee. ❤ Lee, hun, you're very creative and brilliant. Don't stress, love. It's lava rock. Ooop, you are saying that now, lol. I'm loving this, Lee. So much fun. Oh my, girl! Jeremey, this is beautiful. Great colors, Lee. Beautiful pour and tilt Jeremy. So love having you silly boys back. xoxoxoxoxooxoxoxo Oh Leeeeeeee, negative space, lmao. I think Jer just ignored that one.

OMG! These two pieces are stunning 😍
Lee, it does really look like the lava meeting the ocean on Hawaii! They look smooth, but they are actually razor sharp (I promise, I slipped on them and had to put bandage on both my legs 😢)
Jeremy, I agree with Lee that you definitely have to do more straight pours. This one blew my mind 👍🏼

Love you both so much. You are such an important part of my journey, and I just wanted to say that. Lee I really admire that you're trying this new stuff and trying to find your muse in a different type of art. There's nothing wrong with spreading your wings and letting us come along and learning with you. I'm excited to master working with texture, and I'm happy to be going along with you on that journey. Jeremy - You always inspire me with your ability to be fierce in your approach to your art. You're not afraid to be unconventional with colors or techniques and you're attitude is always joyful and positive. I love that about you. This is one of your best straight pours! I really liked the part that looks pleated (if that's the right word). Well done! I love the way you supported Lee in his new endeavors. You're the best together! 😘😘😘

If you want to know whether or not you create art all you got to do is ask yourself does it cause a reaction? My art teacher / mother told me once art is creativity that causes a reaction and it's not necessarily going to be a good reaction just a reaction. If somebody looks at your art and goes oh my god that's horrible or oh my god that's gorgeous or that's so obscene congratulations it's art if there's no reaction it's creative but it's not art so if you go on just your reaction alone congratulations you are your own worst critic which means that's criteria number two for being an artist! So quit beating yourself up and take inspiration from the things that inspire you so that you can use those inspirations to learn the techniques to further your creative mind and remember that you are going to be your own worst critic. You're not a fraud every artist feels that way while finding their way and everybody pays homage to the people who have done things before them without figuring out the techniques through the inspiration you will never be able to have the techniques to experiment and find the new thing that nobody else has done. When you're an artist and you're learning one of the best ways to learn is copying the masters with your own twist and then that twist becomes your own ideas and your own styles and that style will change throughout your life and you will judge every single thing you make and every single idea you have because as an artist you are your own worst critic. The more you say you are not the more I believe wholeheartedly that you are absolutely an artist so quit beating yourself up and give yourself a firm kick in the rear and create something with whatever inspiration inspires you

Goodness thank you for taking the time to write! And your opinion! I hear you and I get it. It’s my own inner saboteur, I know that. I’m still getting used to the idea of calling myself an artist because I was told at school that I would never be! In getting there! I promise. Thank you for sharing and for your loving words

    • @death057

@@MasseArtStudio My mother was an artist and arts activist and an art teacher she was babysat by Jackson Pollock when I was trying to do art in college My first drawing teacher told me I would never be a fine artist I immediately dropped out of the class right after telling her she's only an art teacher because she could never be a fine artist herself. It's emotion so keep causing emotion good or bad and inevitably we are all going to be our worst critics just don't be too hard on yourself. Before I got into paint pouring in January 2023 I was such a critic to myself that I had not finished a piece of art in 7 years. I could just never get it right. The thing I love about fluid art is that we may be able to set the parameters but really in the end the paint's going to do what it wants to do so it takes a way that feeling of not doing good enough or the proportions are wrong. It's my art therapy and because of it I've done a lot of good work on myself. Thank you guys for sharing and showing us your journey and helping us with ours that makes you not only an artist but a therapist too in some respects lol

For all the people out there who talk about golden paints being expensive yet a lot of those people will use the triart paints which are just as expensive if not more. Would I love about golden paints is that it is a company owned by its employees everybody who works there owns part of the company and they're all artists they are the OG company that was founded and employed by artists to make quality paint for artists. Try art is good but it's not golden so if I have to choose if I have the money I'm going with golden cuz I can use way less paint than I have to with Amsterdam or any of the others including triard
