God the nostalgia is real. This animation was fantastic
He putted a lot of efforts in this animation and that shows his love and inspiration of the series
That was pretty good! Loved that twist in the end (also the Akuma reference lol)
My only nitpick is I would've used the M&L Mario sprites SMBZ used instead of SSF2's, but that aside you did a p good job.
Makes me wish SMBZ was never discontinued.

Actually, I think he survived being split in 2 and then transformed into (Ultimate Life Form) ULF Mecha Sonic, which was seen in Chuy Hernandez’s fan-made episode 10, where he transformed during his duel with Shadow in the desert and said, “Very Well, Shadow, you asked for it!!! ULTIMATE LIFE FORM!!!!!”
