Hey Kage Love the videos. I really enjoy watching your series on survival games. Seems like almost all your most popular videos are your first videos you make on new games. I think you provide a good gamer experience when you try out a new game which is why so many people watch those videos. Your breakdown of new games and how the gameplay evolves throughout the series provides players with a good base to decide to buy a game on steam or not. I think you do a great job at explaining survival games in a way that relates to average players. Keep up the great work
played the demo for 6 hours today, got up to 4 villagers, a nice little settlement, got to the crafting bench and advanced items when the demo trial ended, i wanted to keep playing badly, this game looks very promising, the AI villagers are very good, they eat, drink, and do their tasks, and defend your base, everything worked really well. the crafting is in-depth, but not overwhelmingly in-depth. combat isnt bad from what i experienced, a little challenging, but equipping your villagers with weapons and shields allows them to really defend your base well. really looking forward to playing the full game on june 20!
*FYI:* The numbers at 1:03 indicate the layout of your characters customization. If you give Ragnar a beard, and make another character without a beard it be 1: Beard 2: No Beard
Good looking game, Kage. The build mechanics are interesting too. I like how you have to flatten the ground. It removes the tall grass and weeds. Definitely better than having crap poking up through your floors.
I love your videos! They are amazing and fun to watch and very entertaining and don’t get boring at all. You are the reason I find so many survival games and why my library has grown so much more. Thank you and keep up the good work. I downloaded this demo as soon as I saw this video pop up!
I kind of like the "level" mechanic with the hoe. I kind of wish other games like Bellwright would implement something similar. Lots of these village builders require level ground to build on, to prevent clipping, but they don't let you actually modify the terrain. For Bellwright, this severely limits village layouts. Using the hoe lets you flatten any patch of ground to support your building, while not breaking immersion by just magically transforming the ground level.
He says in the video it’s not like Valheim which I find hilarious, immediately eating blueberries just like it. Also took the hoe leveling idea straight out of it lol. Was the first game I seen to do that.
Tip for the winter, get loaaads of food, it does go bad, but fishing is very effective for your villagers get them on that in autumn and collect tons of veggies. And clothing, get clothing!
That particular hammer is called a maul, used mostly in wood working and carving. Thinking about random world gen, It makes more sense when you figure that Vikings were great explorers. They made it across the Atlantic to Newfoundland, did Greenland, Iceland, and bits of what is now Russia. So arriving, they'd be completely in the dark about terrain and flora/fauna. That's one of the things I really love about Valheim. As soon as I can, I build a ship and set off mapping.
Jotun is pronounced “Yo-ton”, also there was a progress radial bar that appeared when you laid in the bed, but you got up right before it filled to 100%, maybe there is a time skip if you let the bar fill all the way up
I like the idea of being Limited depending on your tool because you're not going to take a stone ax and chop down a 6-ft thick tree it just won't happen. and then the ground leveling and using a hammer to build they're great mechanics to implement and I wish more survival games would do so.
Not bad. Day cycle is way too short and Hunger and Thirst diminish way too fast. Would have been nice if the demo allowed us to farm a crop to test that mechanic. Otherwise, nothing really outstanding; just another addition to the genre.
I love your content. Please don't take this the wrong way. But I watch your videos to fall asleep to. Your voice. The chill gameplay. Is NOICE to relax too 👌 😀
Just finished my first run through the Demo, and thought I'd come see what other thought. So I learned do NOT build on the Beach!!! yeah those wisps spawn in maddenning numbers and makes you have to repair ALL your structures constantly. Fibre is easy to get IF you have Thatch Nearby, once you have 3 or 4 villager's and some production buildings then fibre, rocks and wood becomes less of a problem
Good morning Kage! I really am enjoying this video and similar ones. I was thinking how nice that hoe would have been on Survival Fountain of Youth when you were expanding the base. You were unable to move upward away from the water due to the landscape. Imagine how cool that would have been to level it off and continue building. I think terraforming tools should be a must in games. BTW the lighting was great so you are all good. I like the procedurally generated maps as well. I remember the issues early days with it but it pretty nifty now. Kage, to you, Autumn and family God bless!
I like the brightened footage during night time. I only watch on a tablet and it can be difficult to see dark scenes without being blinded during the bright ones. The fire and UI got a bit too bright though.
played this for 10 hrs. feels like banished in terms of setting work area and medieval dynasty. only fought wraith and the floaty fish for my whole playthrough.
Maybe I’m crazy, but it seemed like once you built the torch, some additional resources lit up when you hit the Z search. It might be that I just hadn’t noticed you lighting up a longer stick etc
This game looks pretty cool. I agree the torch seems expensive for that small circle of light. Also, Jotun is pronouced with a "Y" sound. Yo-ton. Its a race of giants in norse mythology if I remember correctly
Interesting game. Brightening in post was definitely helpful. An chance you will play the new Space Engineers update? I started watching you years ago for 7DTD, but your Space Engineers series was my favourite Kage series of all time.
Downloaded the demo & spent two hours looking for sticks to make a fire. Got attacked by ugly creatures but managed to kill them with my fists. Never found a single stick and never was able to even build a fire. Compared to the demo of Soul Mask this game isn't even in the same league. I may reinstall the demo and try to spawn in a new area perhaps one with sticks. Maybe not. Glad you seem to be having less trouble than I did.
I am glad they are coming out with more survival games vellheim was supposed to be good but I didn’t like it the Mechanics was annoying and you had to kill bosses just to advance. I’m hoping to find one that meets what I want and they are slowly moving that direction
I think a prebuilt world with varied resource placement is the way to go. Maybe certain larger landmarks that can be interchanged with each other or a roster of other set pieces
I just found this game and I am enjoying it , but I cannot find the workshop pit build anywhere in my menu? It says to build a workshop pit to build a servant hut , but I cant find the workshop pit anywhere . I am probably blind and stupid but a little help anyone? thx
Hey kage hope all is well I'm glad for some entertainment I'm in er because they just found a piece a metal in my arm between the two bones in my forearm they cut me open pretty bad and failed too remove it so now I'm at risk of infection ot it moving they think it's been there for at least 6 or 7 years because the tissue around was super taugh
Sorry mate I rather play ark then that family beat that game so fast and then nothing at least ark took a few weeks .. do not get me wrong it was a good game just needs to move on
Okay this game is not ready for play. Like I wasted all my time building rain collector and I got everything I need now its telling me I need hammer which I cant build. This game needs a crap ton of polishing. Like this game should be way more smooth in terms of building mechanics then it is considering its release in June.
My daughter and I watch your videos that are age appropriate for her together. She is a big fan. She said your brightness looks great post-editing 😂

Definitely more of this game. Looks great so far.

Brightness edit looks good. I had to do that for all our bellwright video's. Just good quality for the viewers. Thank you.
Oooooh I like this one so far. Fingers crossed it does well and continues to get love
Tip for the winter, get loaaads of food, it does go bad, but fishing is very effective for your villagers get them on that in autumn and collect tons of veggies. And clothing, get clothing!
I love this casual stick gathering game. 🪵Very chill and relaxing.
open world, survival, crafting, co-op, cheap visuals, early access on steam. yeah man looks great, very original.
That particular hammer is called a maul, used mostly in wood working and carving. Thinking about random world gen, It makes more sense when you figure that Vikings were great explorers. I've had this on my wishlist for a bit too, I'm glad there's a demo out now!
Not bad. Day cycle is way too short and Hunger and Thirst diminish way too fast. Would have been nice if the demo allowed us to farm a crop to test that mechanic. Otherwise, nothing really outstanding; just another addition to the genre.
yes please play more of this game its a good game . not too easy not too hard and the animations are so good
@ 0:29 you can see it says "session 2" , probably just default naming for the 2nd time playing.
It looks good.More please.
I love your content. Please don't take this the wrong way. But I watch your videos to fall asleep to. Your voice. The chill gameplay. Is NOICE to relax too 👌 😀
Marking and copying the seed before you start the world is probably the way to get it saved.

Sticks, sticks and more sticks.
kinda reminds me of life is feudal. in terms of building, such as the ground leveling, and multiple tools to build.
One thing I learned from this video. You need more sticks. 😊 Looks like a fun game

Wow this looks cool, love all thing Viking so I’m definitely gonna at least wish list this 👍
Yes pleas, bro. Mutch moor epizod. Nice work.
This looks pretty fun! Would be great if you were able to just craft the components you need for an item at the time if you have all the resources
Definetly better with the improved brightness in the edit.
Maybe I’m crazy, but it seemed like once you built the torch, some additional resources lit up when you hit the Z search. It might be that I just hadn’t noticed you lighting up a longer stick etc
Dammit lol I just bought bellwright but hey another excuse cant go wrong with viking games!
Bellwright is better by what I can tell.
Standing next to an unlighted fire and building a torch for light :)
This game looks pretty cool. I agree the torch seems expensive for that small circle of light. Also, Jotun is pronouced with a "Y" sound. Yo-ton. Its a race of giants in norse mythology if I remember correctly
this is the type of graphics valheim should have imo
Interesting game. Brightening in post was definitely helpful.
An chance you will play the new Space Engineers update? I started watching you years ago for 7DTD, but your Space Engineers series was my favourite Kage series of all time.
Nice video, I'm really interested in how the village works.
Downloaded the demo & spent two hours looking for sticks to make a fire. Got attacked by ugly creatures but managed to kill them with my fists. Hell yeah! a Viking game!
Is this game co-op like valhiem, I don't see how it could be if there are only 2 pre-made characters
Love your content Kage. Big fan of yours. I'm definitely gonna check this out myself also 😁
Reminds me of Enshrouded for summoning (kind of) NPCs.
This felt realy fun and can be a realy good game :).
You were sleeping the status circle was building up before it passes time, you were there almost
what is that red viking towel?
This kinda feels like New World meets Minecraft to me. At least that’s my initial impression
Good luck on this game
I thought you had to flatten the ground in valheim if you built on uneven ground could be wrong
Looks interesting!
I am glad they are coming out with more survival games vellheim was supposed to be good but I didn’t like it the Mechanics was annoying and you had to kill bosses just to advance. I’m hoping to find one that meets what I want and they are slowly moving that direction
can you play first person?
I think a prebuilt world with varied resource placement is the way to go. Maybe certain larger landmarks that can be interchanged with each other or a roster of other set pieces
looks better now
I just found this game and I am enjoying it , but I cannot find the workshop pit build anywhere in my menu? It says to build a workshop pit to build a servant hut , but I cant find the workshop pit anywhere . I am probably blind and stupid but a little help anyone? thx
you walked by so many dwarf bushes bro
It's definitely randomly generated. You don't need a seed like that to start you in different areas of a map.
Had to go check if Steam had it... yep, Free Demo - Cool. I know what I'm doing tonight lol.
OMG, praying for you bro
@@Kage848 Same here Kage in prayers for Ben! God bless you and quick healing!

Tried this game; still needs a LOT of work, for a game releasing in twenty days. Has promise, tho.
Looks cool awesome. Its yotun, not jatan 😅, its Old Norse.
The only thing i dont like is that there isn't a way to regrow trees
this game needs PVP and Raiding , then ist great game
I tried to lay claim to unspoiled lands once and my neighbor chased me out of his backyard. This game looks cool though.
So with the whole villagers thing, who work jobs, it seems more like Medieval Dynasty than Valheim
Looks fun
so… viking soul mask?
u need the odin to get the villagers
In one moment you say it's not like valhiem then the next it is like valhiem. Which is it? 😂😂😂
There is only one viking survival game. It's called VALHEIM!
Sorry mate I rather play ark then that family beat that game so fast and then nothing at least ark took a few weeks .. do not get me wrong it was a good game just needs to move on
Valheim is terrible
Valheim is turning into ass
I know I'm in the minority, but I hated Valheim even though it was in my wheelhouse. This looks more fun to me.
I have a question to aska
Looks good, but content doesn't seem different from over another dozen games.
Basically valheim
This is very similar to Bellwright
It says session 1 not season 1
A Viking game with no long boats?
The game looks blurry, was it like that when you played?
anyone know if this can run on a low spec pc
So this is high res Valheim lol
Difficult...coz there is Valheim....hard to top
Just so you know the name Aska is pronounced Ah-ska
Kage, do you wear glasses; you probably should. The save file said "Session 2" not Season. You wrote season. 😅
Oh lol, I probably do need glasses :D
Okay this game is not ready for play. Like I wasted all my time building rain collector and I got everything I need now its telling me I need hammer which I cant build. For the seed take a smartphone pic
this game is cool i staretd it love it combat is kinda crappy u do tab and there r stuff u can do b is build
Conan Exiles bei Temu gekauft.
Yo
Looks like a snoozefest way too late to the party and still not ready or good enough to be for sale.
yikes playing a survival game and restarting "until i have a good world" xD
last!
Not, so fast...
i see having your own opinion not allowes on this channel
Please stop crying. 😢
not wasting my money on unfinished game that never gets finished..shame on you for your continued promotions of these games that never get finished
this looks awful... just content creators creatin content here...
Don’t like it don’t watch.
The game isn't even out yet.... it's the demo... chill out hawk.
