This video shows some of the testing I did in order to make the robots play the piano. I didn't know anything about Robotics before I embarked on this project, it was fun to learn.

Oh, I see, in the actual music video they're just sped up. I was really wondering if they did actually move as quickly as shown, but I guess that's still a little too much for these.
It's definitely possible, but not necessary.
Yeah... in an interview he said that the robots weren't properly anchored to the ground and because of safety they had to move slower

How did you do this?
You get a robot (or two), take them out of their shipping crates, power them on, use the pendant to set their movement up and then film it.

So was the video of the arms in the final video sped up or were they playing slowly and carefully in this particular take?
KommandantDahl playing slowly on this particular shoot because I have seen this robots move as fast as in the video
The robots can move fast as you want them to, but the video is still cgi. Being around moving robots like that is horribly unsafe, and theres no way the maker would risk person or property damage to do a music video.
Basically they recorded at 15 fps and then sped it up to 25 fps because the robots weren't able to be properly secured (they only had 4 actual robots to work with so they had to be able to move them around.)
Also when the arms are accelerating hard, that takes a lot of force - which puts equal and opposite forces on the mounting base. Notice all the steel bracing? If you don't have the base weighted down enough, it will 'walk' on you.

huh, KUKA, they have a bunch of those replacing the people at the factory where i worked for a few months.
My understanding is that management is filled with morons who keep running them faster than they are designed to, and they keep breaking.
i hear a conspiracy, that an insider is running them too fast to teach the higher ups not to fire everyone or there will be massive downtime!
@@godsinbox actually, we had a Kuka Tech come by, allegedly the guy who designed them, but i wasnt there for it, so i cant confirm that, who told them they were running them too fast.
Management straight up told our machine operators 'do not slow down those machines'.
Voided the warranty on them...

Hm...As far as i know, industrial robots have some kind of plastic coating, so this would why it looks plastic for you,. Also, of course, there's some video editing, so both things combined may look false. But, it's completely real.
The robots in the video are sampled in to your video, thats pretty obvious. As a plant engineer at a robotics facility, I REALLY wish you would display some sort of safety protocols done for the video. Its very cool and inspiring, but is all for nothing if someone gets hurt trying to emulate your success.
