OH and for bios ? besides Neogeo, anything other bios is needed ?

You want the set. The dat file is a text file that details the files and their info.
The bios files needed are included in the set.

Great video you helped me alot with this video. Question I'm using Launchbox as my front end. How to I update the mame roms into my current build in Launchbox without losing all artwork and controller settings?
I've been deleting the platform Arcade and reimporting mame latest version all over. And I kept the artwork and cntl files and mameini. Launchbox wants to install mame and the version number example. Mame 0.270 not just mame. What's the best way to replace all romset but still get the few new games added to latest ROM set.??

I've not used Launchbox for a while but I don't believe you'd lose the artwork etc just by upgrading MAME and the ROMset. I'm pretty sure the artwork is stored under the Arcade category, so when you upgrade it will know that it already had artwork for the majority of the games.

for a freshstart do i need to download the set and dat files? and do i need both chd and roms. this is my first romset

Yeah if you want a full set, you'll need the ROMs and CHDs. The dat files are useful so you can verify the ROMset using a ROM manager like clrmamepro.

I've just tried it and it seems fine. Could something be blocking it for you? Firewall, proxy etc

If you want to use DAT files then lookup CLRMAMEPRO, it's a great tool for using DAT files to create/fix ROM sets.

Most games will work, but there will be some that have changed between versions so may not work.

i just rename the folder the the new 1 that am gonna get and magnet it

Yeah renaming the folder is quicker and easier than moving that many files 👍

If you rename them to the new one each time it only grabs
The newest roms from the folder rather then having to redownload the lot every time
