Penguin Trek | SeaWorld Orlando 2024 B&M Family Launched Roller Coaster POV

- FULL THREAD HERE: Post in thread 'SeaWorld Orlando Project 2024: Antarctica Family Coaster' parkfans.net/threads/seaworld...
This animation was created with the help from Zachary from BGWFans.com and ParkFans.net. After many hours of analyzation & discussion of plans, and as crazy as it sounds, we are expecting this to be an 18-passenger (9 rows of 2), LSM double-launch, Family Coaster from none other than Bolliger & Mabillard.
Making an entire, accurate pre-creation solely off of footer locations is downright next to impossible, but we collectively settled on this layout being the most logical "solution" to the puzzle of plans used.
Aspects like the color scheme and exact track shaping (specifically the launch angles/profiles) are simply guesses, and therefore should not be taken as fact.

BRO SEAWORLD BE STACKING THE B&MS
Looks incredible! SeaWorld somehow keeps finding space for more coasters!😅
*money
@@RayDLX That too😂
They aren’t investing anymore dimes into San Diego to get at least another good coaster
They keep finding space by replacing all their old attractions they don't want to fix. Wild Artic got replaced by Icebreaker, and this ride is replacing Empire of the Penguins.
"Incredible- impossible to believe." This coaster does not look incredible. It looks tame and not ground breaking. Where did you get incredible from?
SeaWorld is going off with the B&Ms, can’t wait for this one!
Yes they are! Hopefully the launches are good.
@@stormingcoasters have you done a B&M launch? Are they punchy or kinda slow like most Mack launche?s?
@@IntaminFanGRLPowerCoasters In between. They're nothing like a Intamin or Gerstlauer's, but they have a bit of a kick to them. Probably the best comparison I can make for launch intensity is the old Premier LIM coasters like FoF. Surprises you the first few times, but nothing to make you think it's "crazy/intense."
@@IntaminFanGRLPowerCoasters Pipeline's is all right. It's has a little kick to it. Enough to not be "boring." But there's no Intamin or even Premiere LSM's and definitely no S&S compressed air launch.
@jonny-b4954 yeah Intamin speed is unbeatable 💙💙💙💙
We found the rest of Pipeline
💀🤣
naaah pipeline is a satisfying ride, but the dispatch intervals are definitely not
😂😂😂
💀💀😭
@@Kittyhatit’s a stand up. The setup time is gonna be ridiculous
If we're talking about family coasters, this is upper echelon, looks like b&m's version of the vekoma family launched coasters like big bear, definitely hope after this they work with new manufacturers so they have more diversity in their lineup than just b&m's and a premier lol
B&M: finally I guess that's a wrap for the SeaWorld parks 😮💨
SeaWorld: oh yeah did we forget to mention??...
B&M: ARE YOU KIDDING ME!??!!
This reminds me of Hollywood Dream but with launches. Looks very unique and fun!
theres nothing unique about this
@@Bubba8597for B&M it is
@@ev7d167 maybe that should be a conversation the coaster community has with mediocrity
Fantastic job! You do amazing work! Excited to share this project to the world on my recent video!
This does look soooo much fun
Really excited to see B&M’s take on the launched family coaster. Vekoma has done a great job with Big Bear Mountain.
I wonder what the heigh requirement will be; Big Bear is 39”
Top tier B&M fr
wow, cant wait for this!! curious to know what trains B&M is gonna put on this I think something like the surf coaster trains with 2 across seating but with normal seats and their clamshell restraints would be cool
Looking at b&m family rides as of late I'm betting it's a wing coaster.
Very good guess! We don’t know what seat/restraint combo it’ll use, but it’s almost certainly a new 2-across design. B&M has patented a Pipeline-style “bouncing” sitdown seat as well, so it might be that!
@@MLDesigns I'm almost willing to put money down on that. When I first heard of this project getting started, I was fully expecting it to be an Intamin Straddle coaster, going off recent history with new coasters at SW parks. Now we know it's B&M for definite (the first track pieces have arrived), and we know it's 2 across seating, I can't think it'll be anything else than these new patented bouncy seats.
@@lastone032085ts not gonna be wings. The clearance profile is too small to be wing trains. On the blueprint, the station also looks like a normal station without a double charge
But, you did a good job reimagining what the ride will be like.
The launch coaster capital of the world.
That's still Knott's Berry Farm lol
BGW has 4 coasters with a grand total of 13 launches*. Any park with more than that?😂
*TECHNICALLY 16 because pantheon’s swing launch is broken up into 2 distinct parts
Another B&M for Seaworld. Should have gotten a vekoma family coaster like big bear mountain in my opinion, or a small scale gravity group woodie like Kentucky flyer.! Should be great.!
This just looks dope
I’d love for them to add a Mack extreme spinning coaster! That would have been epic in this park. Especially with dark ride sections
Maybe seaworld orlando is going b&m so that busch gardens Tampa goes with a vekoma family like big bear mountain replacing sand serpent
Swinging cars would be fun
I never knew bnm family coasters were a thing
There not 😭
It's weird to see B&M track and think family coaster but with the invert and 2 new wing coasters they're trying to break in the market
I like it
I reallly hope it has clamshells!
Looks like a floaty big bear mountain with an indoor section and that signature B&M track. I like it a lot
Rumors where that this ride would venture out of the park into the lake near Mako and and Kraken and then return ... some what disappointing that it's just a compact kiddy ride.
Wow. Just like everyone else here. Seaworld loading up on B&M's at this park. I reckon if it aint broke dont fix it. LOL! Looks like a cool ride for the family and kiddos. What are you thinking for a ride height on this for the little ones? 42"-48" maybe?
I sure hope it’s 42”. If it’s 48”, it genuinely makes no sense as an addition unless they got an incredible deal on it. It appears to be a very tame ride, so it should have the lowest height requirement as possible. I just don’t know if B&M would go that low.
@@MLDesigns agreed!! have seem some say family coaster and have a higher rider height requirement and then I am like.. welp just put a better restraint and call this thing a thrill ride. Cant say I have seen a B&M that low either. Maybe this is something new they are trying to expand their lineup along with Pipeline and the new standing model of coaster for them.
This is like B&Ms answer to Big Bear Mountain or a mild version of Intamin Multilaunch
Just rode Big Bear Mountain today. Genuinely so much fun! I know it’s only been a day, but I already feel SeaWorld messed up not buying the Vekoma one!
Big Bear Mountain was dope
Hey man! How can I get in contact with you for a future collab idea?
B&M blitz?!
' july 7 open wow
This honestly took me by surprise given I was expecting Intamin to work on the 2024 coaster.
Originally that was the idea I heard but now recent rumors are switching to B&M. This is all just rumors, though
My reading of the tea leaves is that SeaWorld is trying to appeal more to families with kids ~15 years old and younger. Universal/IoA appeals to thrill seekers. Epic Universe is showing that they, Universal, recognize the have been missing out on a market segment, families with younger children. That is why we see a great mix of attractions being installed at EU. Disney will be a draw for many families, but people are experiencing construction sites and over-priced tickets, food and souvenirs. SeaWorld and Universal are beating Disney badly. Complacency is the enemy of success. Disney's arrogance has been and will continue to be the reason for their decline. Why would Disney now start teasing a 5th park? SeaWorld had a similar issue as Universal when it opened Mako and Manta. There weren't any attractions for children other than Shamu Coaster and Atlantis. SeaWorld is trying to take the focus off animals and more towards attractions and overall experiences. This was a strategic move to garner the attention of families. Also, this comes across to me as B&M leveraging SeaWorld to demonstrate their roller coaster 'catalog' similar to Mack at Europa Park. Intamin has shown issues with launch coasters in Florida's unique climate and environment. Also, why install an Intamin family multi-launch with Hagrid's across I-4? Vekoma isn't trustworthy; see DejaVu clones. Big Bear was a proof of concept for the US market that Dollywood, Herschel Entertainment, took a flier on. They probably got it for a really good price as Vekoma hasn't been successful in the US in years. Sure, Vekoma has changed things, but how does the phrase go, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me... The money invested in these rides has to be a solid investment with an immediate ROI. B&M has proved to SeaWorld Entertainment that their product is ready to go at installation, no hiccups or downtime. Intamin can't say that. Also, maybe Busch Gardens Williamsburg has revealed some reliability issues with Pantheon that SeaWorld didn't like, or maybe they are saving an Intamin multi-launch for BGT? There are a lot of unknowns out there. My marketing/sales mind says this was a solid move for SeaWorld. We, coaster enthusiasts, may not be happy with it, but they are in the business of drawing people in and making money. Coaster enthusiasts make up a very, very small part of their market share. Orlando's market is so massive that SeaWorld is gambling on the families, not thrill seekers. Now they have something for everyone. A Jr Coaster, muti-launch family coaster, intense/punchy multi-launch family coaster, stand up launching inverting coaster, hyper coaster, flying multiple inversion coaster and floorless multiple inversion coaster. Sounds like a 'stair step' or a lineup for families and people who haven't done many coasters before or are maturing in their appreciation of roller coasters. Roller Coaster Capital of Orlando is a marketing line to draw people's attention. People will be interested in their lineup. Maybe not us, but there are millions more gen-pop coming and spending money in Orlando than Coaster Enthusiasts.
I have been a pass holder at UO for the past year and I just got one for Disney for the following year.(I’ll be back when Epic Universe opens). Keep in mind I am a theme park enthusiast, so I am more interested in rides that tell a great story more so than rides that are high speed thrills. (I love all the high speed thrill rides except for basically any of the older thrill rides. For example I can ride Velocicoaster or Iron Gwazi no problem, but Hulk or Space mountain will give me a migraine and best, and severe nausea at worst.)
Sea World had to change course after they got bashed for inhumane treatment by keeping them in captivity or something, it was a big deal 10-15 years ago. I haven’t been since Manta was the newest coaster but I will be going when the penguin coaster drops, I feel like they’ve done a good job Busch Gardenifying the park and I’m excited to go back. I had a Busch gardens pass a year or two ago and that is by far the besttt park to go to as far as relaxation. I would ride one or two rides, and just enjoy the walk around the park.
Disney needs to update so much but a 5th or even a 6th park would help take pressure off the other 4 so they could actually manage crowds with attractions down. Pretty sure Disney is running out of money atm similar to the late 80s early 90s I believe it was? I sort of understand why Disney is so expensive, if it was any cheaper you literally wouldn’t be able to stand inside of the parks they get so busy these days. Disney also isn’t very fun to be at whenever the weather isn’t favorable. I’ve noticed it’s extremely easy to get dehydrated and just plain miserable at WDW compared to any other park I’ve been to. The concrete at Magic Kingdom traps heat so terribly, the last time I went it was in nighttime in the mid 70s but the concrete was radiating 85-90 and it just totally sucked the life out of me. Not to mention it’s extremely difficult to find somewhere in the park to efficiently relax or rest for a while at WDW compared to UO. It’s probably because UO has lower attendance but it’s so nice to be able to go to a secluded area of the park and just take it in and enjoy being in another world.
Universal has been knocking it out of the park since they landed the Wizarding World deal. I’ve been to the set they filmed Harry Potter in the Uk, Diagon alley is a carbon copy of the set, it was so amazing to see the set and be like wow universal literally made this come to life so well that I’m not impressed by the sets they actually filmed the movie in. Simpsons is falling apart and they have no plans to fix it, probably because the theatre is a people eater so they can’t really shut it down and there might be some apprehension about investing in something that they might have to share with Disney in some form. They really need to update cat in the hat to Mike Myers or put a grinch family coaster/dark ride in that area. Kids zone literally just closed the WOODY WOODPECKER ride. I don’t think kids have known who woody woodpecker is for like a decade now, possibly longer. They’re definitely going to make F&F the coaster version at some point so I wont complain about that. Kong is honestly not that bad, I don’t love the screens but the quality of everything else like the bat animatronics allows me to look past it. Rip ride rocket needs to be demolished in favor of a ride that’s more consistent, smooth, and eats more people. I love the music themed coaster right next to the hard rock but it gives me a major headache and nausea every time I ride it. Spider-man has also broken down almost every-time I’ve ridden it so I’m hopeful they can get that solved but it also has some of the best practical effects of any dark ride. Transformers could have really used some animatronic arms or upper torsos, but the screen fatigue issues at Universal Orlando are well known.
rmc single rail next and call it the icicle
You got the name correct
Yeah! (Totally didn’t change the name right after they announced it…🤣)
@@MLDesigns 🤣
For those disappointed i get it i wanted another big 3 too. But after icebraker failed to be family freindly we really needed a midpoint between box car derby and pipline and icebreaker
Idc about big coasters you gotta let the kids have fun too imo plus this looks super enjoyable and perfect for all ages
How is this not another straddle coaster? Does that mean they're bringing a straddle to BGT instead? I cannot come up with an answer that makes any sense for why they would go this route other than that or B&M gave them a good deal to showcase a new model type again.
I understand the decision from a capacity & reliability standpoint. But from a family coaster perspective, there are probably a dozen options I would have rather seen, mostly related to the rider height requirement. Something like a Gerstlauer or Vekoma family launchers have VERY low reqs, like 39” low. If B&M can figure out how to do 42” limit on this, then that’s perfect. Even the straddle coasters being 48” is a tough sell as a real family coaster IMO.
Good gosh I hope it’s NOT a straddle coaster. I doubt BGT would be getting one either. With all the space BGT has, I’m willing to bet it’ll be something more thrilling than a straddle coaster. I want a Wing Coaster 🤞🏿
A family surf coaster JK
can you use this with credit?!
Any chance this is a wing?
Nope. Using the plans, we determined it’ll likely be a new design of 2-across seating.
Backroowwww
what ride is this
Its an intamin straddle coaster
Read the forum post linked in the description. Zachary outlines in crystal clear detail why it’s not.
@@MLDesigns i've read it but Unless its a wing I still think its an intamin
B&M is confirmed the manufacturer?
Not confirmed. But we analyzed the plans for any other realistic manufacturer. based of the spacing of the footers, and the way the footers are named (ex. “C38”) being exactly like other B&M plans, we are assuming it to be B&M
@MLDesigns what if it's an MDC? Like a Hollywood Drift/Destination Mars Style ride? That could make since for this too. If that was the case it would likely be Intamin, but since B&M is rumored I see B&M most likely
@@IntaminFanGRLPowerCoasters maybe I said it wrong. We think the plans almost definitely show a B&M. The spans between supports & style of the supports is identical to other B&M rides. There would be far more supports if it was an Intamin.
it’s funny how you think seaworld orlando is getting a coaster 3 years in a row
They are
I dont understand why thry are building another family style b&m right after opening pipeline.
Because pipeline is not a family coaster. And Icebreaker is too intense for kids.
Why cant seaworld build a giga coaster, FL doesnt have one
They don’t have the space
Pass
Is this a junior coaster looks very uninspiring to me
Someone please explain to me why is B&M doing this?!
Ask SeaWorld why they bought it!
Because of what happened with premier rides and ice breaker.
@typicaluser4116 what happened? Was it the collar restraints?
@@authenticNL2 That and some issues.
Seaworld gets crazy high attendance and b&m are just that reliable compared to every other manufacturer
Where are the Penguins ?
Why must SeaWorld add a filler coaster when we could get a bunch of flat rides instead? Adding some flats (like San Antonio) would help the Orlando location continue its transformation into a true amusement park. Plus, they already had 2 family coasters that kids could go on before riding some of the other stuff. I just don’t get it.
I have to disagree. No, they can’t compete with Universal or Disney. Building coasters and making SW the “Coaster capital of Orlando” is their gimmick. It’s a smart one too. I’m sure there’s another thrilling coaster coming down the line. That Keywest area was rumored to get a straddle coaster years back. I’m willing to bet that’ll be the next area to get a coaster
@@deldavis5457 If you ask me though, if they want to keep their (self-given) title as coaster capital of Orlando, they should probably stop building the same coaster.
That is true. Their last 3 coasters are very similar, aside from standing on pipeline. They are all relatively low to the ground launch coasters
@@samplautz5586 last three coasters: mako (B&M Hyper) ice breaker (premier multi launch) pipeline (B&M standing launch) yeah, they’re all the same 🤣 some of you ppl are never satisfied. If they built a giga, y’all would complain that it’s excessive and should build something low to the ground
@@samplautz5586 Yeah, hypers are known for being "low to the ground." Actually, no, you just have no idea what you're talking about. Their coasters are all very different (as far as coasters go.)
SeaWorld shouldn't be trying to become "a true amusement park." Not when they compete with proper THEME parks. They need to stop building coasters and aim higher with properly themed dark rides and such. The whole "coaster capital" shtick is a stopgap for their attendance woes and identity crisis.
Im honestly not a fan, why? Its yet another launch coaster in a park that has pretty much exclusively added launch coasters as of late. At this point 50% of their bigger coasters that are mostly coasters will be launch coasters, and for a park with less than 10 coasters that's not a good thing.
This is also why I consider DarkaKoaster and Pantheon to be bad additions to BGW. DarkKoaster in particular is a ride that (imo) has no reason to exist with Shitbolten in the park, as much as I consider Verbolten to be one of tbe worst coasters ever built (for being s glorified box coaster on amazing terrian BBW deserved better) its existence invalidates the need for DarkKoaster.
This is also why I find the Universal Orlando resort so bland and why I consider Velocicoaster a bad addition, since Dragon Challenge got axed, the resort NEEDS a major thrill coaster with a lift hill, and Epic Universe isn't doung jack shit about this glaring hole, I'm not hyped for that place at all.
If Dragon Challenge was still around (I'll never forgive them for this) then I'd gave different views on Velocicoaster, still wluldnt be a fan of it being an Intamin, a company that I've lost a lot of respect for after ripping off the Mack PowerSplash and RMC Raptor (IMO Vekoma is a better company these days), but it woukd hsve geen a good addition to bring a modern launch coaster to the resort.
Universal Orlando is bland and Velocicoaster is bad... because you're a lift hill enthusiast? LMFAO
I also wanted to try the simulator rides at the Busch Gardens parks!
Stay off the drugs mate. 😅
Bruh 💀
This looks pretty boring unless they have a unique train...Hopefully one less painful than Pipeline
"promo sm" 💞
Looks cheap and not themed enough to compete with the offerings at Orlando's other parks.
That is because it is not a rendering from SeaWorld, but @MLDesigns interpretation of construction plans.
Cheap? B&M? Eh?
SeaWorld NEEEEEDS ANOTHER big boy coaster
Step it up
Put another hyper coaster
Enough with these smaller rides
They just got pipeline. What they truly need is another dark ride (old Wild Arctic would be ideal) and true family which this new 2024 coaster is rumored to be.
It’s too much roller coasters! We need less big coasters and more thrill and family dark rides!
@@meganlewis2377 who ever disagreed with this lmao!
Why spend B&M money for this
I think it’s so dumb of sea world to open a family launch caster after opening a family launch coaster less than 2 years ago
Many would argue that IceBreaker is rather intense and not a family coaster. In fact the hight requirement just got dropped back down to 42in if I’m not mistaken. This family coaster is needed at SeaWorld orlando.
I don’t get what height dropping has to do with being intense. Dropping the height requirement points more to a family coaster than not. I agree, it is pretty intense, but what does lowering the height have to do with how intense it is?
@@samplautz5586 I mentioned the height change because the ride was supposed to be 48 inches and serve as a “transition” coaster for pre teens/teenagers. Unfortunately, shortly after opening, there was an injury which resulted in 54 in requirement. Now it’s back down. Ice breaker is a solid ride for sure. I took a group of 6th graders and they were terrified 😂
@@samplautz5586 The height requirement changes have nothing to do with the ride's intensity. It was the shitty restraints they installed, which have since been removed. That being said, yes, Ice Breaker is rather intense for such a small coaster. Even without the problematic restraints and with its intended height requirement it's still not the family coaster SeaWorld wanted, hence why they're building another one.
Seriously? Why? Icebreaker wasn't great and now another more boring family coaster. Like, let's take the most boring part of gatekeeper (last 1/3 of ride) and make a whole rollercoaster out of it. Sorry this won't get me back to Seaworld.
It’s not supposed to get you back to seaworld. Think about how many families come to Orlando. They need more family rides in this park considering icebreaker was way to intense for kids.
Boring! Where the inversions

Looks mediocre. I just moved to Florida and got an annual pass for all the theme parks. Sea World is the only one I regret.
That’s odd cause they have the most coasters and the park isn’t crowded at all half of the year. I tend to enjoy that most about SeaWorld
Really? I guess you don't like rollercoasters then?
