This works great! Also, pro-tip- to make the wax work to its fullest potential- after running the candle wax over the zipper, use a hair dryer to melt the wax so it gets in the teeth more effectively. The wax by itself worked, but it works 100 times better after a melted wax with a hairdryer. Plus it gets the loose wax off of your zipper.

thank you. i am thinking of using a crayon instead of candle on my friend's leather jacket. i just unf#%ed it and it took me forever. i'm afraid it will happen again , because it is so difficult to zip. i think your purse strategy may work well. thanks again.

also i would never suggest WD-40 as some have suggested , as it might damage the leather or other material...
Thank you! I will try with a crayon 🤗 I did try with wd-40 but i had to spray in a lid and then carefully with a qtip drag it along the teeth! Even then i made a mess on sertain areas 😄

Another trick is to use a very soft graphite pencil tip,.. slide that up and down the zipper like as in this video,.. it works well. The pencil lead tip technique also works for stiff keys in door locks.

@@ChanelGirl In zippers, as long as the item hasn't been washed. In door keys, (in the ridges and the edge notches) a few months.

Have you noticed any change of color to the hardware/ metal of the zipper after using the wax ? I'm afraid of ruining the metal and fabric. Also, does the wax disappear eventually ? Thank you so much ! I want to try this but hesitant because I don't want to damage my bag. Thank you so much !! :)
Hi, I have’nt noticed Any change Of color after using The wax. Maybe it got a little bit shinier. The wax is in between The teeth, I can still see little leftovers when i check now, And also some on The zipper head that «eats The teeth» (Sorry for The poor explanation use Of words 🤓). So it doesnt dissapear all together but is rather smeared. And i Did use alot Of wax (maybe Too much). I checked The fabric Of The zipper under or below, And I can spot some areas Where I accidentally smeared wax. That is still There. But it doesnt bother me. Since a bag is much more valuable, maybe test it out on another bag or a zipper that you have laying around? It could be zipper on pants, zipper on an old hoodie etc. Before making the final desicion?
