I am a cashier at a grocery store. Every single person who buys the coke from Mexico says the exact same thing. No comparison. Mexico coke is hands down the best tasting and refreshing
Mexican Coke has a smoother, more refreshing and balanced taste. A treat to have every time I find it in stores & at restaurants. It's what American Coke used to be before we cheapened the ingredients.
I love the Mexican Coke because it tastes better and has real sugar. High fructose corn syrup is really bad for your body. The only problem I have is that it cost 2 1/2 times what US Coke casts in the store near me. 😢
A fair comparison would have been a mexican glass bottle coke vs an american glass bottle coke. They both cold from the fridge and served without ice. Then you blindfolded testing each one of them and deciding which one tasted the best.
Because the only thing u.s. coke is good for being used as a cleaning product. It really gets rid of that rust and cleans stainless steel and silver perfectly. Just do not consume. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I've stopped drinking the US-made coke at this point. I always get the Mexican ones that come in a 24 packet Costco. In a glass bottle, so more economically friendly. And when I was reading about how obesity rates in the US increased just at about the same time they started putting high fructose corn syrup in soda I also stopped drinking that.

I stopped consuming it and my health and quality of life has skyrocketed. Get your shit from fresh food markets and farms that dont use Monsanto. Drinking the coke with real suger in the glass bottle, although not the healthiest, you can just taste the difference
The Mexican version is the original Coke recipe without the actual coke. The soda was originally created as a medicine but failed. The creator accidently made the beverage. It was originally only called Coke because it was made from cocaine but after the FDA was created, or something happened, i forget, they had to remove it and the name changed to coca cola. The second CEO switched to HFCS to lower prices and compete with new competition. It was expensive to get the can sugar from Mexico ... which is why Mexico still uses the cane sugar, they are the largest producers of it. Sorry, I'm a foodie and food nerd. There's a whole series on Hulu about the food that built America.
Made in 1886 with Cocaine and the Cola nut. Originally called Coca-Cola. Ban on cocaine switched it to using caffeine for the boost. Name changed to Coke in the 80s when they tried to change the formula but wasn't successful, which resulted to them bringing the original back which they called Coca Cola Classic. The Coke was changed to Coke 2. Which was still a flop and ended up being sold only in certain countries until it was discontinued. And now it's just Coca Cola again. I'm a cocaholic and I use to work for a distributor.
@@TamaSamoaAnamuaI remember as a kid having two options at the vending machine at the corner market near my house. One was for Coca-Cola, and then way down the machine, the second to last option, was Coke. That was made in response to the Pepsi Challenge earlier in the 80s where people preferred the sweeter taste of Pepsi. What they didn’t take into account was that consumers ended up not liking the sweeter taste when they consumed an entire can or bottle of Pepsi. It was too sweet and many people turned to Coca-Cola Classic. New Coke failed for similar reasons. Well, that and the fact that you don’t mess with Americana! As much as I’ve always preferred Coca-Cola, there was one Pepsi product I was absolutely obsessed with: Crystal Clear Pepsi. It existed briefly in my tween/early teen years. Loved it. Loved the smell. Loved the taste. Loved that it was clear. Loved that I was 12 and could drink endless amounts of it and not gain weight.
Heck Yeah! As a Mexican who moved to the US, I always noticed that Coke from back there just tasted better overall. (Fun Fact: Make sure to get the green bottle Cokes, they were honestly always better to me.)
One of the reasons it taste better is because the ORIGINAL formula was made from "pure cane sugar" which they transitioned out because corn syrup is MUCH cheaper and does not rely on a crop that has very limited places in the United States it can grow at. Oh and also because the "corn industry" pretty much paid off everybody so that corn syrup would be the ONLY thing besides artificial sweeteners that can go into American coke.
I want that product boycotted. I shouldn't have to cut soda with lemonade because it hurts my bladder and my kidneys. We eat plenty of corn. We don't need corn syrup. We had excellent hurricane protection when we had sugar cane crops on the edge of the Everglades.
The Mexican version has a slightly different flavor than the American but what really makes it stand out, and better in my opinion, is the mex version has cane sugar which doesn't leave a syrupy texture in your mouth and the fizz is more satisfying.
as a mexican, I can say that there's even a difference in taste between the various containers. we have plastic bottles, glass bottles and cans. glass is best, bht there even a difference between the taste of liter bottles, half, liter, 12 ounce and 4 ounce mini bottles. I would say 12 oz is the best tasting.
Very true, glass is best then plastic is ok and cans are the worst. I will take a plastic bottle over a can every time and glass bottle over everything else always. I was so glad that pepsi brought back mountain dew with real sugar, I just wish they'd sell it in glass bottles!
id say this is very psychological, but I agree. It does taste better. Also, if you go to a local Costco or something similar, all the glass bottles have cane sugar coca-cola. I noticed quite a bit difference when i first tried it. 100% worth it.

I just spent 30 days in Mexico. I lost 7 pounds. Everything is fresh. Tortillas and bread are made fresh everyday. They don't add any type of preservatives. You have to eat them 2-3 days after buying them because they go bad after that.
Absolutely. What is sad is our Coke used to taste like the Mexico version. I live in Tucson. There is a deli here that sells it. At least once a month I get my fix with a really great pizza
Please do. I went there for the first time 2 months ago(3 more times since then) and the food made me sick every time, no offence. The food quality in the US really needs to be improved.
I'm old. Coke USA used to be made with Imperial Pure Cane Sugar and come in refillable glass bottles. In the 1970s they shifted to corn syrup and plastic to lessen production costs. Mexico bottlers never made that shift. Also many believe Mexico still uses one of the older formulas where the US formula has been tweeked a few times over the years. The Coca Cola we drink now is not what I had back in the day. We drink Coca Cola Classic. It was formulated to replace New Coke, a colossal failure from the 1980s. tldr: Mexican Coke BETTER!!
Btw, glass bottles are the best way to enjoy a beverage. Glass acts neutral to any liquid and won't alter the taste. Cans take some of the taste "away" and plastic bottles add a bit of that plastic taste.
The one from Mexico is made with cane sugar. The American version is corn syrup. America use to make theirs with cane sugar and in glass bottles. I buy the Mexican ones because it reminds me of growing up and getting an ice cold bottle of coke from my Granny’s fridge! I wish America would go back to cane sugar and bottles! ❤️❤️

What I discovered is the carbonation. The high fructose in US Coke doesn't hold the carbonation, where thr cane sugar keeps its fizz much better. It also gives the taste buds more flavor that the US drink. Mexican Coke over US any day.
Interestingly enough, as a Jew, I learned about this years ago during Passover, which is where you cannot eat certain types of grain or leavened breads. One of the prohibited grains is corn, so American Coke is not Kosher for Passover. However, Mexican Coke is, since it uses cane sugar!
He had to keep the conditions of how both cokes were served the same so as to limit any differences that could in turn bring about differences in taste.
Yes I 💯% agree especially with that natural cane sugar it's amazing. Now they are available at some Mexican supermarkets now to purchase.👍 Delicious. And it always in that original classic glass bottle wish makes it more authentic.
This is absolutely the truth! Probably a lot has to do with the glass bottle, but the Mexican Coke is 100% better! Depending on where you live it’s pretty easy to find in the US.
The Mindanao Island Coca-Cola here in the Philippines tastes just like the American Coke from the 1970s. It is bottled in Davao in 8-ounce and 1-liter bottles. We normally drink it within a week of it being bottled. In American money, the small bottle costs 18 cents and 1liter is about 40 cents.
I believe that it's not just sugar vs corn syrup, or variations of mix. That it's also something to do with the bottle itself. That plastic bottles can impart a slight 'synthetic' tang to the drinks contained where as glass, doesn't. I'm old enough to remember when all cokes came in were glass bottles. Even from vending machines. With those you had to be mindful of what size coke you were getting. Like if you dropped .35 cents for what you thought was a 12oz coke, but it turned out to be a 8 oz bottle. I seem to recall the near one liter bottles being priced about .75 cents to .85 cents. Sure I understand that glass is heavier than plastic, and corn syrup is cheaper than actual sugar, but if I'm going to be dropping near $2 or more for a coke, just give it to me in a late 80's early 90's style screw top glass bottle. It'll taste so much better and be re-closable, until the actual pop top bottles.
We had to bring another glass bottle to buy a coke or leave money untill you return the bottle. You can also buy the bottle but that would be expensive coke. If it was slightly broken when opening, you lose your money....but the people would use it to grind salt or things of that nature, use it as bottle..., if broken bad, pieces would be used to shave. TIA. Cans and plastic coke were luxury lol
The fact is, the Mexican version is the American version before the food service industry decided to sell us out for a few cents per service because HFCS is cheaper. Naturally, everything in glass tastes better, but that's a minor thing compared to the sweetener.
Corn syrup is terrible for you and most other countries have banned it. Sugar is natural and better for you. You just need to have it in everything you eat and drink for Pete's sake.
Rather than it being a Mexican version it's more of a global one, most places around the world have a very similar coke flavour with the slight difference being where the sugar is sourced E.G Mexico uses cane sugar whereas the UK uses sugar from sugar beets. Only the us tends to use the corn syrup that gives it that iconic artificial chemically taste. That aside a big difference her is that the Mexican coke is also in a glass bottle, coke tastes way better out of a bottle.
As a Guatemalan, I cannot imagine the corn syrup instead of actual sugar. Then again, if it is still popular in America, the american version shouldn't be _that_ bad.
It’s very true. I’m Ecuadorian and I drink Coke or any soda in Ecuador, but not here in the U.S. It’s way more carbonated, has extra additives and it’s loaded with sugar. Unfortunately the U.S. allows food and beverages to have many additives and ingredients that other countries don’t allow.
Eh, too many in Latin America are suffering and dying due to over indulgence of coke and other carbonated beverages as they contain MORE sugar than the U.S versions. Diabetes, cancers, etc, rates are through the roof. The fact that you all allow them to advertise and sponsor children events and be in school plus use cartoons and such when the USA and other Western countries do not is moot. There's some pretty decent documentaries on it available on UA-cam. It's sickening because they are also allowed to lie and say that there are health benefits to Coke and other brands.
Mexican coke tastes like how coke used to taste when I was a kid. The switch from cane sugar to high fructose corn syrup really cheats us from its authentic flavoring. The US nearly abandoned real sugar and opted for the worst possible sweeteners. I believe it’s plays a big factor in obesity and other sicknesses.
Real sugar isn't the poison we're told it is. HFCS absolutely is and it's right in the name. The fructose is what makes sugar unhealthy in high quantities and HFCS has a higher percentage of fructose.

Facts.
Anything for a buck nowadays in America. They even cut portion sizes down since Biden took Office.
I love the Mexican Coke because it tastes better and has real sugar. High fructose corn syrup is really bad for your body. The only problem I have is that it cost 2 1/2 times what US Coke casts in the store near me. 😢
There are American versions in a bottle that uses regular sugar also. They are hard to find though.
Coke when sealed in a plastic bottle will taste different compared to the one in glass bottles
A fair comparison would have been a mexican glass bottle coke vs an american glass bottle coke. They both cold from the fridge and served without ice. Then you blindfolded testing each one of them and deciding which one tasted the best.
Check your local taco shop. They usually stock the Mexico bottled coke and it tastes like the older version. It's very good!

They are the biggest producers because they are, unfortunately, the biggest consumers
It wasn't made from cocaine, it was made with cocaine

Forgot to mention that the original version of Coca-Cola included cochise, hence the Coca-Cola in the name!😮

Mexico bottlers never made that shift. Also many believe Mexico still uses one of the older formulas where the US formula has been tweeked a few times over the years. I'm old enough to remember when all cokes came in were glass bottles. Even from vending machines. With those you had to be mindful of what size coke you were getting.
