People have been preaching this for more than 18 years, and yet they are still here and a lot of people buy them still. Clearly they do not listen to random UA-cam comment makers, influencers, and video essayists; then, the problem would have gone away.
Until gamers are willing to pass on games over predatory micro transactions, this will only get worse. Some aren't - love how Fortnight implemented their monetization...but I am absolutely going to wait on Dragon's Dogma 2 gets discounted because of theirs.
Those are hardly "micro" they are sizable prices. If they were cheap, like $1 - $5 for cars on gran turismo for example, then maybe. For example the McLaren F1 on GT7 would cost $400 in actual money... that is beyond absurd... They made the car once, it's free money they can sell indefinitely!
¿why would they? it's a business model that works. people won't spend $60-$80 for a game, but they will spend $.10, 800 times. it also encourages the dev to keep making the game new. now, for many of these titles, you play for free, instead of buying a disc or cartridge that you cannot return if the game is trash. think about many of the MMOPG's - fortnite, apex legends, warzone, etc., all free-to-play. this system is annoying, only because we're still trying to figure it out. the crap games, or the really annoying ones will die, or evolve.
I will say something that most gamers wont say or don't understand. Micro transactions are great for the gaming world Gaming companies making money and being able to use it to fund new games or new content is great Companies like epic games are still losing money despite having micro transactions , Without it gaming would be dead There is nothing wrong with cosmetic micro transactions, If a game makes a pay to win micro transactions and you don't like it , Just don't play it ( Like me )
@@heneliezer1421 So? A list of the most popular games right now is a list of games that mostly don't use it. League of Legends, Minecraft, BG3, GTAV, Roblox, Zelda, Rainbow Six, DOTA 2, Halo, Among Us, Red Dead Redemption 2... There are some very popular games using Unreal, but you could spend your whole life playing great games and never touch any of them.
If you keep purchasing the game, they'll keep providing you with microtransactions.
Stop purchasing games that promote this behavior.
You can buy the game and still not buy micro transactions. Push and pull

And/or never pay micro transactions! They are hardly micro anyways lol

Micro transaction implies a 50 cent charge for a cosmetic. Not $50 for horse armour.
They started, generally, as truly micro transactions. That definition had been stretched over the years, to be sure.
they only care about money
take it away from them, force them to behave and fix the industry.
Lol , cryto bots trying to promote thier pump n dump in the comment section.
maybe if I get scammed enough eventually I’ll meet the one bot that makes me rich? Sounds kinda romantic.
Great report, thank you!

"gaming would be dead without companies like epic games" is a hilariously stupid take. Guess you mostly play shooters.
They literally maintain the most popular gaming engine..@@crusherven

@@crusherven You just mentioned bunch a games that are using microtransactions
@@heneliezer1421 I was pointing out how stupid your take was about epic games specifically. Nice edit btw, glad you agree
Yep I'm sure the industry is now screwed. Good, back to sticks it is, that is if bog brother is okay with that.
