My 96 yr old Aunt died last Jan. I was gifted her car, a 2015 Chevy Malibu with 15k miles!!! And a small amount of money. My sister has been my money manager and she cautioned me to put aside part of the money for car maintenance and repairs. After the Superbowl, I hit a curb and shredded a tire. I was so thankful that I did as my sister cautioned, and I was able to get a new tire. It may seem like a little thing, but being able to take care of an unexpected expense gives you a grateful heart!

I am so grateful that you are all okay. I lost a family member last week due to running out of gas on a busy freeway in Dallas, TX. He was using a gas can to put gas in his truck and was hit fatally. The coroner said it was instantaneous death and I hope it was for his sake. He was 21 and only 11 days older than my son. They were cousins. We go to his memorial service tomorrow. My heart is so heavy for his parents and siblings. I know that Jesus has his reasons and he was a faithful follower of Christ, so I don't fear for his eternity, but I hurt so bad for his parents and siblings. I hurt for me and my family who obviously feel the loss. I am thankful that my son had the opportunity to sit and spend time with him about 2 months ago. Life is short. Some lives are obviously shorter than others. Don't forget to let the ones you love know how much you love them.
Awww God bless Grandma!! Cherish those days!! I’ll be 40 this year with no grandparents still alive. My MIL is 72 and bedridden from a fall. Please keep her in your prayers for a miracle

I love watching/being part of building projects!! Friends’ son-in-law (Hausmann in Lincoln) lived in a house we visited near Lincoln with a basketball court under the garage. That was so neat!! Coyotes will lure dogs away to “play.” We’ve been blessed that our dogs have always resisted the tempting sirens.

I'm only a couple of years older than both you and Solo, however I'm a new grandmother (although i don't feel old enough to be) and a great aunt twice over in the last 2years (my nephew could almost be my brother in age) and I am now an 'empty nester' also caring for elders in my family now instead of young kids, yet I still don't have enough hours in my day and something's always happening, so it's mind boggling how you manage to corral everything and still stay somewhat sane :D Kudos to you honestly, oh and btw love hearing and seeing your house updates, I find it intriguing to see a build on the other side of the world as I'm currently in the planning stages of drafting plans for my home (I have an architectural and surveying background), so I'm being a huge sticky beak wanting to know everything about the build hehehe :D

I just always found it interesting they had a basement below the garage. I lost my sweet Beagle mix house dog this last spring to a Coyote. He was right in front of our house on a Sunday morning. I am still grieving. He was such a precious boy. We also lost 17 chickens all in the day time!

My great-grandmother lived to be 96. She always said she was “in her 97th year.” She was very spirited and died after she sneaked out of her nursing home to get away 🏃♀️ and slipped and hit her head. She was always trying to escape. Happy birthday to your grandmother!

If I did my math right, your mom was born in 1927! Not many people from her era around anymore. I bet she has tons of fascinating stories from The Great Depression, WW2, etc. Also flat tires are no joke. Thankfully nobody was hurt and you guys got home safely. There has been many incidents where flat tires on the highway results in much worse outcomes so it's definitely a blessing.
Thank you for sharing, what a blessing that your Grandma is so strong . I visit a nursing home frequently and so many are frail and left alone without visitors. So many seniors don’t qualify for an assisted living situation because of their poor health. So I thank the Lord for your Grandma .
She is living in independent living at a senior living facility. So if she ever needs more care it is available. Right now she is enjoying not having to cook!!

If I did my math right, your mom was born in 1927! Not many people from her era around anymore. I bet she has tons of fascinating stories from The Great Depression, WW2, etc.
Also flat tires are no joke. Thankfully nobody was hurt and you guys got home safely. There has been many incidents where flat tires on the highway results in much worse outcomes so it's definitely a blessing.

Thank you for sharing, what a blessing that your Grandma is so strong . I visit a nursing home frequently and so many are frail and left alone without visitors. So many seniors don’t qualify for an assisted living situation because of their poor health. So I thank the Lord for your Grandma .
She is living in independent living at a senior living facility. So if she ever needs more care it is available. Right now she is enjoying not having to cook!!
