I have no idea how this old video showed up in my new videos, but I must say I found it very entertaining.
First, I love that mini highbanker. Wish I had a use for it just to get one.
The pump “we’re ready to go” line cracked me up as we could see the empty lay flat at his feet. I think I made the same mistake of priming the pump first instead of last when I started a looong time ago.
Doubt anyone will see this comment but I just had to stop in and say how much I enjoyed this video.
I saw and read this comment
Not sure how I've been prospecting for 2 years without seeing any of Gary's videos - binge watching the whole channel now that I found it.
Great information in each one, well edited, no BS. Thanks Gary!
Even if I never get out to pan or snipe for real, I have already found the treasure! This channel! Thanks Gary.
35 years ago I used to occasionally go out on a Saturday or Sunday on my mountain bicycle with a gold pan and a small bottle and spend the day out panning for gold in small streams around Chico, Ca. These are some of the fondest memories of my youth, alone out with nature, cold water and simple exploration. During my 2 years of graduate school I only accumulated a little over half ounce of gold, but the memories are priceless. I use a wheelchair now and could never get to those places where I used to hike and bike, but your videos allow me to vicariously venture out occasionally again🤗
Thanks for the memories of being out with nature.
These videos are hands down the most informative and well shot videos on gold on UA-cam. Thanks two toes!!
Thank you, you are too kind!
Your video’s rock! Thank you so much! Nice to learn from someone who obviously knows what the hell they are doing!
I have been watching your videos non stop for almost 2 weeks straight, I am from SC and hope to get an opportunity to prospect in the near future. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise, you are a wonderful teacher!
robert herlong dude I know it’s been a year since you commented this but I’m also from SC and I also am a beginner prospector and would like to know if you had any luck thanks!
Dang, now that's what I'm talking about... a bunch of color in the pan after a day's work. I mean sure, we all love a day of activity in the wild and fresh air, but coming home with a tiny flake? Far more satisfying to end the day with a pan full of yellow. Nicely done.
Thanks
Great videos. No bull, no ridiculous stereotypical old-timey prospector voice. Just good info. Finding good glacier gold in NY using techniques from your crevacing video.
Ithaca area or some place else?
Gary's old-timer voice is the real deal. :-)
i watch this video every day before i prospect. Gary is a pro, by following his advice i find gold every day. You are greatly appreciated two toes.
Team Altantis- Rod
+drick freak Thank you, you are too kind. I bet your hard work has a lot more to do with it.
I really enjoy your vids TwoToes!
Good to see you Live'n the Life!!
Thanks for the straight up "how to's". They are great!
Thank you for the lesson. You explain everything well. I’m hoping Santa might bring me a high banker but in the mean time I will continue watching UA-cam learning and enjoy the start of my retirement with my new metal detector.
Kind regards, Paul (Australia)
You are a great teacher! I'm so impressed with your style. Your videos are excellent. Thank you so much.
This has to be the best info on high banking on the internet. Thanks so much Gary . Priceless advice.
I think I have watched this 5 or 6 times. I use it as a refresher course before I head out. Thank You So Much
Hey Gary, great videos on gold prospecting. With your knowledge of metallurgy and geology, you really make it an adventure for the viewer as well. Good stuff.
Thanks for the experience. I missed this beginning and didn't see the motor model or size but I went back and seen the intro .Very informative.
Love watching your shows, straight to the point , professional and charismatic .
Great job, looking forward to more learning.
Thanks that was one of the best videos I've seen.
Making my first Hibanker out of a small cooler going to test it out in September can't wait. Love your videos

Great video Gary, thanks for posting it.
At 25:00 "TINK" beautiful noise. Like music to a panner. Great video, thank you Sir.
Got to love it! Thanks - Gary
Love your videos as always my friend. Thank you.
It's one of your older videos Gary but it was helpful and I enjoyed it thanks!
I forgot to put the weight of the gold found that day in the video - it was 2.6 dwt.
It is 4.04 grams - I am try to learn metric, the only ones using dwt. is old guys like me!
Cool, thanks.
Two Toes hello where did you get your pump at??
Is this still allowed in California?
@@chucklotro8749 with the way things are going , breathing without paying the air tax gonna be frowned upon soon in california.
Great info Gary! Thanks for sharing your passion!
You sir, are a national treasure!
holy crap, this dude seems not to be very popular but in the end he got the point for real !!!!! --- SUBSCRIBED ---
Thank you very much. That's the 1st video I've watched on gold. I live in a very good area to find gold and I would think with a simple box like the one you have I think a person could make a little money. So thank you for the good info on the basics.
Nice video, a wealth of information without excessive babble, music or sales pitch. In particular the adjustment of the pitch and the effect it had on the sand near the riffle resonated with me. Thanks for the info! Subscribed~
Thank you very much!

Hey two toes I just started looking at your videos and I thank you for all the tips and secrets to finding gold I'm new at this and I saw a video of you using a medal detector I have an 350 ACE gerret medal detector and was wondering if I can find gold in crevices in between rocks like you did on that one video or does it need to be a fancy one to do that ?
If it can handle the mineralization, you might be able to locate lead and iron targets. I don't think it will pick up the small nuggets but if you can find iron and dig out that spot you should be able to pick up some gold.
Caught more this video than the first. Soon I'm going to watch this for a third time.
Great video! Really gets me excited to go get after it! Thanks for sharing
I've watched 5 or 6 of your videos now and find them very useful! Keep them coming!
Thank You.
I live in Washington but can't seem to find many creeks or rivers that have exposed bedrock. Kind of a bummer.
Great video, very informative on setting up a Highbanker PLUS some very nice PAYDIRT
Thanks for the video. Learned a lot and am excited about doing some golding this summer!
Great video you found good gold. I'm 1 hour from Sierra Nevada Mountains and want to look for gold in the creeks with all the rain we having. I have a pan and metal detector. But this year want to sluice to move a lot more material in a short time. Your videos have great info and to the point no babbling and sales pitching.
Just found your channel today.
I'm a newbie but want to learn more about this.
Have basic knowledge about mineralization and mining.
Never mined gold though.
Subscribed.
Thanks for the info.
Found your channel a couple weeks ago and enjoy the rivers you are working as I am an old Chico Kid, I hoping to move back to this area when ever the real estate sells in Alaska
different types of brushes even different types of wire brushes are also a great tool to bring. (thanks @Pioneer Pauly for the wire brush idea!) and thank you @Two Toes for these great tips!!

Thank you very much.
Thanks, I learned something new, about high banking.
this was a great video. I learned A LOT! Thank you!
Thank you very much!
I'm glad you have forceps, but also I use long, pointy-nosed tweezers which I machined down to suit my crevicing method. Sometimes after grubbing around and see a little sliver, only tweezers will do. Many thanks for producing this first class tutorial - Wendi
Im very impressed thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
Man, I got into prospecting the year I left the sierra's...sheesh.. Im in Hot phoenix waiting for the cool off again...

Hi I just stumbled across your video… I really enjoyed it… Thanks for doing it…
Thank You Sir, This video was very educational. I have done a little dredging, slucing, panning and metal detecting with very limited success. I have been wanting to try some high banking so thank you for the great pointers. I'll give you a 10+ on your presentations.
Thank you very much.
William Mawk I was in NorCal last weekend and got more gold in one pan than a summer in Eastern Oregon. Location is a biggest part.
AWESOME video, love the intro too .....cheers
Thank you great videos. This Granny heading to buy this and heading out to N M.
This video was great instruction, had to subscribe right away. Keep up the good work and finding that gold! I know what I would be doing every weekend if I was in that area. Good stuff!
I would be finding gold every weekend - if it wasn't raining every weekend. Guess I shouldn't complain, we need the rain. But I still want to go prospecting. Thanks for the support!
I am learning from you keep up the good work you’re better than the others I hope when I do it I fine gold like you

Saludos de Chile. Y gracias por sus videos
thank you for sharing Two Toes
I LOVE YOUR SET UP, SMALL AND HANDY. GET TO TAKE IT ANY WERE.
I cant believe I have not seen this video from you till just now. That was cool I love these instructionals. How much did that bigger piece of gold weigh? Thanks for sharing.
This is one of my first videos. I had plans to weigh the gold when I got home, then put it in the video. I got the weight but totally spaced putting it in the video. Total weight was 2.6 dwt, the large piece was just under one penny weight. Ya, I know everyone weighs in grams, but I can't seem to make the change - old guy thing! Thanks - Gary
Two Toes Ok wow thats great! Stick to what you do no need to change it. Cheers.
Really nice high banking tutorial. Thanks for putting this together. It would of been nice to have a bigger set up and some helpers so you could dig up those crevices better and run more of that good material. But them agin the more people in on a gold set up the more problems may occur.
I love my inch and a half highbanker - easy to carry ,set up, clean up and pack out. I'm willing to give up some production. Thanks for the support1
Great video.👍👍👍
Hey Two Toes! Just discovered your channel. Loving the videos. I was just thinking, if you and ol Jeff Williams got together and prospected you might take over the world :) His geological knowledge and your mining knowledge would be amazing put together. Keep up the great videos! I live near the Sequoia National park (no prospecting there!) but I'm doing some research on places to prospect outside of the park.
I learned how to pan for gold on the Tuolumne River about 56 years ago. I don't know where we were on the river. My dad and his friend Bill, my brother and I went down there to fish. After a several days of fishing my brother and I were board of fishing, so Bill taught us how to pan. I still remember the gold we found, I would guess it was around a quarter of a ounce. Not sure how far of a drive that would be for you. I'm sure things may have changed in 50 years, but that is as far south as I have gone looking for gold. Good luck and thanks.
Neat story. I would probably end up bored from fishing too, especially since fish aren't near as shiny as gold. I'm still south of Tuolumne. I'm actually south of Fresno. Been doing lots of reading. I guess Merced River, Mariposa County and Fresno River/ San Joaquin River are my nearest hot spots. Should be interesting this summer. :) I'm not too far from Kern county also, might poke around there as well. Hopefully if I find some gold my boyfriend will get as excited about it as I am. ha!
Thank You for sharing your knowledge through this very informative, excellent quality video. My Peace, Good Health And Happiness Fill all your days
Wow! That's nice amount of gold, great video
Thank you!
Great video , thanks
Thank you.
18:00 that whole wall looks good to me.
Thank you for your great vids! I have a 6.5 hp 2" pump on my highbanker. Many times I spend lots of time digging while the pump is running 3/4 throttle and I feel like I'm wasting fuel. Do you see any problem with slowly turning the throttle down for 20-30 minutes while I'm digging, then slowly ramping it up when I send the gravel through? Will that disrupt the eddy currents in the sluice? Thanks again.
you doing a top job matel
WoW , Lots of Great Info !!!%
That was a great video. Quite the Display of tools, especially the crevicing tools. Do you make or sell the longer tool with the spoon and pick ? Thanks 😎
best one ive seen yet
Thank you!
Great video👍
Thanks, great video. Could you please explain what you mean when you say "the ripples are working".
well done vid,, no crap just facts. thanks
love it very informative
Hey Gary - thanks again for the awesome video. I like that Proline; after my wife forgets about how much I paid for my gold detector, I think I may pick up one of those! Pretty darned sure I know where you were working, as my friend has a claim up in that area. Would be great to meet you down there sometime! We usually head down around the 4th of July for a couple of weeks and then if I can, I sneak away for another, late-Summer/early Fall trip. Best to you!
Nice amount of gold, great video!
Thank you!
grait stuff I could do that all day thanks for the vid
I love highbanking in the fall! Thanks - Gary
