  • In this video I show the two ways that can be used to connect an e-drum set to a computer. Either via Line level output or a MIDI connection. Thanks for Watching!

    Hello, nice to say hello! I want to ask you a question: Is it possible to download the sample bank to a computer? Thank you for the attention you can give me.

      If you mean download the sounds off the drum module to a computer I dont think so. You can use all sorts of different sounds once you connect to your computer via USB/Midi though.

    Bit of a silly question but where do i plug in the "midi in" on the cable? Can i just plug in the "Midi out" on my drumset and the USB on my pc?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  Рік тому +1

      If your drums have a USB type connector then yes just plug straight in to your pc. If the “midi out” of your drums looks like a circle with 5 little holes then you need an adapter to change that to usb. I use a Mio Connect device for that.

    Hello, thank you for the help, I also would like to know how do I play along with other song on my computer or if there is an app or software that I can download in my computer that is going to brake down the different instruments in the song, and one more thing, I have to have a DAW, right? What DAW do you suggest?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  8 місяців тому

      The easiest way to play to a song is to use the auxiliary (aux) input on your edrums. Assuming that is what you mean. It should just be a cable to connect your phone/tablet/computer to your kit then jam away. If you want to record all of that then yes you need to use a computer.
      In terms of DAW - i like pro tools and logic pro. But lots of people use reaper/studio one/ cubase etc.

    If so, how do you connect it to your pc

    Hi. How do you set the hi-hat pedal. I don't think it has an assigned midi signal to it. Thanks

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  5 місяців тому

      Do you mean in your DAW? Many plugins have assigned mapping. You can usually change them in settings. Addictive Drums has a map for “roland drumset” or something like that. That is probably what you need.

    Can I just connect the "MIDI out" on a Roland TD-10 V drums into the "MIDI in" on my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 interface and go from there?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  Рік тому +1

      If you want to use the drum sounds in your computer/DAW then, Yes.
      If you want to use the sounds in your TD-10 then you need to use an instrument cable. Or two, if you want it to be stereo.

      @@Bearvswolf thank you! I'm new to this so bare with me. If I want the TD-10s sounds I use instrument cables that I understand, so what I get are all the drums into a single or stereo track in my Daw, but If I want control of the individual drums I should use the USB into the Daw to a Vi instrument like BFD drums?

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  11 місяців тому

      Yep. Using some sort of instrument/midi track will get you a stereo midi kit. You can control everything via the plugin instrument of choice.
      If you want say 8 separate trax with each drum on its own track you break out the kit to 8 sep aux/midi tracks. Each brand (slate, addictive drums) etc has its own way of doing that. Some are easier than others. I am not familiar w BFD. But I am guessing it can do that and there will be a video here somewhere on how to do it. Addictive and slate I can verify definitely can.

    how can i set up my titan 50 so that when i play in a game people can hear what i am playing through my microphone or just hear the drums? please help

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  6 місяців тому

      Titan 50 has about all the connections I mentioned in the Vid. Depends what you are connecting to. If straight to your computer then I would use the USB. If you have an interface you could use the Line outs.

      @@Bearvswolf i have the usb connected from my computer directly to the kit but when i have the simmons 50 line as my input for the mic nothing plays so im guessing thats not how it works

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  6 місяців тому

      @@dmc8410 the line out is carrying an analog signal. Like a guitar cable. USB is digital so it may only be carrying the midi information. Sometimes it will carry audio too but not always. So if you connect your kit to your computer w USB you may need a virtual drum kit in the computer to use the sounds. Garage band, logic, pro tools would all have one of these.

    So I was wondering if you NEED a drum pad or do you only need a pc

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  3 місяці тому

      Depends what you want to do. The sounds are in the computer via slate drums, addictive drums, etc. so if you just want to put drums in a recording you can use those plugins. If you want to be able to hit something…you need drum pads. Or a kit.

    Hi great video. I have a TD20 and want to record onto my pc (which of course has USB's, running windows 10 ) with the aux in on the module coming from MP3 player so I can play along with songs and record them. Would a simple audio mixer with 12 inputs work by connecting all 12 individual outputs from the TD20 into the mixer, then USB output from the mixer directly into the PC? In this way I could monitor each channel for volume and tone etc so they all match for recordings via the PC. As you know the TD 20 does not have USB output. Thankyou

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  2 місяці тому

      In theory that would work. You would have to find a mixer that could then break that usb into 12 individual tracks. That may be harder to find.
      If it were me. I would just use midi. Then you could connect to your computer via one cable. And use something like pro tools to accept midi. Use addictive drums (or similar). And then input whichever mp3 you wanted to play to.

      @thedrummerboy1215 2 місяці тому

      Thankyou foryour reply. I was trying to get aound buying software. If the mixer has 12 channels and these are fed together through the mixer inputs, I would hope this mix would output through the USB in real time.I simply don't know if it's possible. I suspect the USB is for downloading files onto a memory stick afterwards.
      Yes, Midi is something I have never used so dont really understand what it's capable of.I really need to be able to tone control all the 12 channel outputs from the TD20 before anything is recorded not just the stereo mix.
      Someone mentioned a Tandberg interface which is 12 channel with a mix down via USB.@@Bearvswolf

    • @Bearvswolf
      @Bearvswolf  2 місяці тому +1

      @@thedrummerboy1215 if you dont mind mixing on the mixer. Like controlling the levels and sounds of the drums on the mixer. And then mixing it down to USB and sending to computer that could work. The low cost mixers with USB are almost always only stereo out through usb. Thats the only thing you want to double check. Some do allow for mulritrack ouput but just make sure if thats what you need.
