Shattered Dimensions was basically Into the Spiderverse before it was cool.
It actually inspired the Spiderverse event years later.

Man, these were my brother's two favorite games. I swear he must have played web of shadows at least 10 times through. I honestly forgot these games existed until I saw this thumbnail. Almost been two years since he passed and just watching this video makes me think of him. Miss ya bud.

I was so damn scared of fighting every boss in Web of Shadows. Everyone becoming a symbiote was just really terrifying to me as a kid.

@@deadpoolgames1 Not wrong, but the thing is that people still enjoy the nostalgia of playing a game that they've grown to love for so long, which is why they would want it to be remade and improved upon rather than for it to just get a sequel that could potentially be completely different from its predecessor.

Man, you didn’t realize that Deadpool literally can talk to you if you pause the game on his level. I didn’t know about that until I was 15 playing it. When I saw him doing what he usually does, I laughed a bit as even in a paused game, he still wants to talk to you.
On Web of Shadows, I swing around the city so fast to the point that the city couldn't render at all😅
I'd say slow down the swinging, but I know how it feels. You can't help but have fun while swinging in Web of Shadows

I just did a 100% play through will all the the spider emblems. And ONE SWING is enough to lag my game SO BAD, it will stop me and just put me on the ground. Lol

Noir has to be my favorite dimension. The stealth, the whole mood, the soundtrack (which has probably the best in the game) it's all just amazing.

Fun fact: In Shattered Dimensions, all of the 4 Spideys Voice Actors also voiced Spider-Man at some point In their life, so In a way, they reprised the role.
Amazing: Neil Patrick Harris. Who voiced Spidey In the forgotten MTV adaptation.
Ultimate: Josh Keaton. He voiced Peter In the also inspired Ultimate universe of Spetacular Spider-Man.
2099: Dan Gilvezan. Who starred at the Hannah Barbera style 80's teamup with Iceman and Firestar.
Noir - Christopher Daniel Barnes. It's ya boy from the 90's animated series. The one from *GET BACK HERE SHOCKER!*
Oh, and Stan Lee himself Is the narrator.

@@Thanos5 Not really. Sure, Keaton does a similar voice from his animated series and was rather fresh In the Spider fans at the time, but Barnes does a completely different tone.
As for Gilvezan and Harris, their roles were kind of niche, only a few players who either watched the failed MTV series and the over 30 years cartoon would recognize them.

Actually, there are 4 endings in the game:
1. You don't heal Black Cat and don't listen to Vulture (Good ending with MJ)
2. You heal Black Cat and don't listen to Vulture (Good ending without MJ)
3. You don't heal Black Cat and listen to Vulture (Bad ending with without Black Cat)
4. You heal Black Cat and listen to Vulture (Bad ending with Black Cat)
Also, Moon Knight was planned to be a Symbiote boss fight but the idea later scrapped

I still love how Spidey legit fights like a Street Fighter character/Spectacle fighter protagonist in that game. Seriously, I initially had Web of Shadows on Wii, bought it again for 360 years later after having the whole DMC series under my belt, and I had a fucking _blast_ switching between suits on the fly and combo-ing enemies.
One thing i HATE about modern gaming, and spidey ps4 is very into that, is having no style. Games these days have no visual style at all.

The funniest memory I have with Shattered Dimensions is when I was in the 2099 tutorial level and trying to learn the heavy attacks. I had it on the Wii, so you had to tilt the Wii remote at a specific angle in order to do these attacks, and it took me *WAAYYYY* too long for me to figure that out.

I had the same issue until we looked at the controls and found an alternate and WAY more standard control scheme, NEVER went back to the original

I used to love pretending in WoS that the black suit was my only mode of existence. Like, my favourite passtime in that game was swinging in the black suit (obviously throwing in some handclap tentacle glides cause obviously), splatting into a wall but pressing the suit change JUST before it so it faded as I hit the wall, then reforming the black suit just as spidey auto-recovered. I have no idea why, but this entertained me for, now that I actually think about it, literal months of my life.
I always loved doing the web strike then as he bounced off I would change the suit and keep the suit until I did it again.

*Shattered Dimensions* is essentially, Spider-Verse, the game. The game that introduced us to alternate Spider-Men and payed homage to past games, characters, universes, and voice actors.
*Web Of Shadows* is basically a fan fiction game that every kid wanted. Although a little cheesy with some lack of development and attention to some of its characters, it was a Spider-Man classic!

So dark and gritty a boss fight is a trivia quiz, Spidey tries to stop gang violence with the power of a stern talking to, and the VA sounds like Neil Patrick Harris with a sinus infection. Incredible, honestly.

I loved the DS port and PS2 port. Their stories were very minimized, and with simple sidescroller mechanics. But their combos and enemies made them great

I never thought the boss battles were that bad. My only complaint about the game were how tedious and repetitive the side quests were. *Airstrike 1000 symbiotes* Jesus we get it
the escort missions near the end were the worst
Dei Prophetiae Most of them were good yeah, it was just the symbiote Electro fight where you had to fight off his little minions that were a pain because they kept teleporting away and then dealing a ridiculous amount of damage, also my game kept glitching out each time Electro would "explode" with electricity, I'd get stuck in that blast and then he'd blast again killing me instantly
Cool things about web of shadows is people in the city will clap at you and cheer at you if you do tricks but as soon as you switch into the symbiote suit they will become frightened and run away, love those details

honestly you guys, this game did an awesome job at the power fantasy. it really made you feel like spider-man. the dialog from enemies really gave you this feeling of a super strong, super strong airachnid themed hero who for most of his enemies is even scary to fight

I discovered that on the Deadpool level of Shattered Dimensions if you leave the game on pause for a few minutes the voice of Deadpool starts mocking you

Shattered Dimensions on the DS was really good. Completely different villains and mechanics all rolled into a 2d metroidvania game with some really fun gameplay. However, it did suffer from the fact that they removed the ultimate dimension.

Actually he was there but as a alternate costume where it’s basically Story mode but with Ultimate Spider-Man replacing present Spider-Man and I think bag man for 2099 and Peter Parker for noir or backwards I forgot.
Shiva R black suit is considered the same Spider-Man (Ulitmate) they couldn’t actually add another Spider-Man due the limitations of the DS and they did the best that they could by adding him as a alternative costume for Present Spider-Man which makes sense since peter interacted with the symbiote first

My god, I love these two games. They were my childhood and I'm so sad they are no longer accessible. Shattered Dimensions did Spider-Man fan service so damm well from all the voices of Spidey being previous voice actors for the character, to all the different costumes you can unlock, it was perfect. Then Web of Shadows was trying so many new things as well as telling a darker Spidey story which isnt seen in the games very often plus the open map was so fun to traverse, even if sometimes the web swinging didnt make sense lol.
I would become the happiest man on earth if they released these games again, hell I'd buy it for full price too if it was just an HD version of the games but, we have to accept that will never be happening : (

while playing shattered demensions, during the ultimate parts, I played with the classic red-and-blue suit, So, when I was in rage mode, it didn't look right...like...at all lmao
I did the same thing and noticed how wrong it looked, but I didn't give a sh💩t.
Lol after i pássed the game several times and i unlocked all the suits i would replay the game and choose all the suits that were similar to each other.

Web Of Shadows is one of my favorite spiderman games. So underrated!
Fun fact Shattered Dimensions was originally Web of shadows 2 but mid-way they drastically changed directions but left the skeleton and core story concept/character design so it's hilarious that your two favorite modern spider-man games stem from the same tree.

@@i-can-fly4354 it was originally called Spider-man Classic but the studio behind it which was Shaba Games shut down in 2009 the assets, programming, and cocept art (including mysterios design) were later used by Beenox to create Shattered Dimensions. My information isn't false you're just am idiot who couldn't do a simple google search before he commented.

Spider-Man web of shadows will forever be the greatest Spider-Man game I’ve played it countless times and still go back to my ps3 to play it. The combat and story are so so unique and have never been matched by any other spider game. I still play shattered dimensions too but web of shadows just hits so different

Moon Knight is actually the most useful sidekick, if you want to quick kill enemies.
Wow. I didn't know that, I usually call out Cage or Wolverine.
Cage is the tank. I remember using him a lot for the big robots, he murders them in a few punches XD. But yes moon knight was really helpful.

This is so crazy to me seeing these games for the first time. I was excited for both of them and got them for either Christmas or my birthday on the DS snd thought for years that it would be the exact same on all platforms.
Back 2 years after both the new spider games are here and I'm proud to say that the roles of web of Shadow's and shattered dimension's have been fulfilled.

great choices. although i must say in my opinion, for the Amazing universe, the Kraven and Juggernaut levels were equally fun, just kraven had those sniper segments that was just a bit more fun than the silver sable guys in juggernauts level. But Deadpool's level is the best in the game, not just for his witty banter, but that awesome (& hard) opening segment
Vulture is great but the goblin level is amazing. It is more player driven and I love the idea of the fireworks going off so you have to time your attacks. And omg the audio que for the firework about to go off is so great. It really takes all the best parts off the noir levels and crams them together. Perfection.
Shattered dimensions is a masterpiece imo. There was a couple levels that arent as special as others, but most are amazing.
It's actually my favorite Spiderman game. Wouldn't call it the best but I had most fun with it. I think objectivly PS4 is best one but I didn't enjoyed it as much as SSD

@@colin3ds1 Sounds like you should have been born in the 80's. I think regardless of age everyone wants single player games. Have you played Kingdoms of Amalur? Great cheap game with all the dlc for under $10 when on steam sale. The combat is really fun and the magic still looks great 10 years later.

I was actually looking for shattered dimensions yesterday and couldn't find it but today I saw this video . Thanks for showing up in my recommended
I remember when Shattered Dimensions first came out and I wrote it off as soon as I heard there was no free roam web slinging. I even remember saying “why would you make a Spider-Man game that’s not free roam?” Now that I’ve grown up and been burned one too many times by AAA open world titles, I’ve grown to appreciate the more concentrated, single player experiences and realize that I’ve missed out on what seems to be a rip roaring good time. Your video also got me interested in the N64 game too. I’ll have to check that out later.
And of course I played Web of Shadows when it came out. Open world with a dark, edgy story? It’s almost as if it was tailor made for 12 year old me. I loved it back then and I’m itching to play it again now to see how it held up.

I one time remember a comment on a Shattered Dimensions video of someone saying that they would _massively_ prefer if the entire game was in First Person like it was during boss fights.

When I played the 2099 levels my favorite parts were the falling scenes, because I knew I was that much closer to being done with the 2099 level.
Dead ass. I'm not even joking. The 2099 levels were that much worse than the rest of the game for me that it made me feel happy it was closer to being over so I could play other levels.
