Gary, you’re the man. You helped me massively as I was getting into the sport and shooting my TX200 and now I’m swatting up for tips as I add PCP to my shooting repertoire. Thank you my friend. 🙏👍👍
@@ShootingCountryTV Well, mate, it’s all going really good. I’m at the range at least once a week and on the home range (40M) an extra couple of days a week. 40, 50 and even 60M are well within my ability now. Thank you so much for the help. All I need to do now is have enough oomph to get into a para competition. 👍
Excellent video, I have one small correction though. When you take a couple of deep breaths, you're not actually loading your body with oxygen. This is for all intents and purposes irrelevant in regard to marksmanship, but it _is_ a very important fact for freedivers. Now, in addition to being an airgunner I'm also a spearfisher, and if there is one thing we take _very_ seriously it's breath control. Obviously we'll try to extend our bottom time as much as we can, and a simple way to do that is to take several deep breaths before we dive, but that comes with a price because we don't actually build up oxygen in the blood, we merely "wash out" CO2 that the body uses as a marker to let us know how close we are to the limit of our abilities. Washing out Co2 is dangerous because it screws with your body's signals, sure it is unpleasant to hold your breath for an extended period, but the nature of said unpleasantness is what tells us how far we've come along in our breath hold, and how long we have left. A good rule of thumb is to never take more than 3 deep breaths before diving, because more than that can give you the impression that you're not actually running low on oxygen, and that can lead to shallow water blackout, which has killed more people than I care to count. On the other hand, I'm ready to bet that by far most people could hold their breath for at least a minute or two, if they actually tried and were aware that the uncomfortable feeling is merely their body telling them that they have elevated CO2 levels in their blood, but otherwise are nowhere near to passing out from lack of oxygen.
Hi Gary like your vids pal informative i'm new at this just bought a HFT500 what Grains of pellet is best i'm using Air Arms 8.4G and also JSB 10.34 G would just like an expert to tell me as to many people tell you different thing's. thank's Danny
Nice vid Gary, but only 1/2 second follow through? and it didn’t even get a mention. I appreciated you get good results mate but follow through’s important, especially for people starting out. Cheers, Matt
Cheers Matt. I'll be honest, it's not something I thought about. I'll add it into a future video and I'll make sure I give you a mention. I probably forgot as I was being attacked by mosquitos.
Hi another excellent vid. I have a hft500 can you tell me the make. Model and cost of your hamster your using. I have a big laminate one to match the rifle but Im not happy with the size/weight. Cheers Chris g.
As a beginner I would like to say thank you for this video. I've loads to learn. May I ask what range you were shooting and at what magnification was your scope?
Thanks so much. I do not have access to an airgun shooting club - what I learn about airguns and shooting comes from this type of vid
Cheers Ron, let me know if there is anything you would like covered.

Thank you Gary, given a lot for me to think about and practice.
If there is anything extra I can do to help, let me know.
Think you need to quantify that these hints & tips are mainly HFT specific :)

Cual es la mejor velocidad para el HFT 500 con JSB 8,44 gre ???
Hey Garry, do you know if the manufacturer of the Exact pellets also make the Air Arms pellets? I don’t think Air Arms make their own brand? Fraser.

It was a Hawke sidewinder 4-16×50

High Chris, its just a piece of delrin, I'll measure it tomorrow.

Hi Sp3ktral. I was shooting at 40 yards and on 10x magnification.
Thanks Gary.
Hiya I'm slowly working my way through your videos do you cover scope selection in the series by any chance
Yes we do- ua-cam.com/video/8erui59F3ws/v-deo.html
How about a masterclass in positional shots?
That's on its way.
For HFT do you prefer HFT 500, S510 US or maybe other riffle? Greetings
For me it's the HFT500 all the way :-)
@@ShootingCountryTV ty for answer :)
When you referred to the hamster you said it has to be a max of 150mm, where is that measured from?
For HFT it's from the centre of the barrel
@@garychillingworth thankyou
Gary,…. How can you go round a triangle ?😂
Gary what’s going on with that hft500 muzzle brake? is it custom? Hollow?
There was lots of moisture in the air and sometimes it does that.
I would never advise holding your breath with any type of shooting, i would always advise taking a normal breath in and on the exhale shoot 🔫.
Why so pricey gun like HFT500 isn't regulated??
I’d wish you’d stop picking the rifles up by the scopes
You're not the first to tell me off for that 😀
