There are these dolls stands on Amazon called Kaiser stands, which are metal stands with adjustable clips that go around the doll's waists. The bases of the stands are thin, but do a good job of holding the doll up. They're pretty cheap and would work well, since you're running out of stands.

Lizzie here is something that works to get that paint off of poppys's hand soak it in hot/warm soapy water, soak it it about 5 min or so or longer. Then the paint should just slip off the hand once you rub at it a little bit. Btw this will only work on acrylic paint.
