You grow up hearing that drugs are bad, bad, bad-don't hang around people who do drugs. But when I met Rob, I had no idea about his past. All I saw was this incredible guy-selfless, inspiring in how he plays sports, and just a genuinely funny person. You’d never guess that he had a darker history that might’ve led him down that path. I’m glad that the stereotype didn’t cloud my judgment, because if it had, it would’ve shaped my view of him-and of people with similar struggles-in a way that could’ve stuck with me for life. The truth is, these are people’s family members, and I’m grateful I saw Rob for who he truly is, not just his past or his recovery story. This episode means a lot to me because it’s a chance to learn more about Rob, in the same way he’s always shared-through his humor. Thanks for having him on. I might even become a fan now-and I have no history with hard drugs myself.
Thank you so much for watching! I couldn’t agree with you more! Rob is a remarkable human being who had to travel a dark path to get where he is. As a guy who also has no history with hard drugs being involved with this podcast has really opened my mind to people who are in this struggle. Thank you again for the comment and support!
That's beautifully well written! Our hope is for all our stories to touch people in a way that they may have never been touched or understood before. Props to you for seeing your own self and realizing how you may have acted in another time. Before I became an addict I was very judgemental towards people that were on that path; never thinking that is someones son or daughter or mother or Dad! Then I became an addict and have come full circle as well. First time I ever met Rob but he is a phenomenal person and funny as Fuck. I hope you start watching all of them. Thanks so much for your comments I hope that more people see us for who we are and not judge us from our past because for so long I let my past hold me hostage from having a future. Thanks for sharing God Bless. Mike "Stu Boy" OBrien
Except Jkline…. Talk of poop is something that gets him uncomfortable, so I will keep talking poop until he just accepts poop.😂😂. As always thank you for your support!!
