Man when “Anywhere else” disappears at 3:00 and she just says “I just want to die”. That made me really sad.
I was expecting you to change up the lyrics at some point, but the fact that the words didn't change totally highlighted how the song already perfectly encapsulated Mae's tragedy. She couldn't leave Possum Springs, and if she dies here she never will.

I've gotta say... hearing Mae's voice break after the bridge in the last verse completely broke my heart and made me to burst into tears in a way I haven't since the first time I played this game. Amazing.
In 2017 I almost killed myself and then I found this game. I fell in love with this world, characters and music. This game somehow helped me and I promised to myself to wait for the next chapter and then is there will be no reasons to live, I'll kill myself.
Well, three years later I'm still alive and there is no chapter two.

Seriously, you guys took a bleak moment in the game, and made it infinitely more hard hitting.
god this is definitely one of my favs in the musical by far. just,,, riley’s gorgeous vocals, the raw emotional power of the scene and the pseudo-animatic style of the art is just amazing. fantastic job everyone!!
This song straight up made me cry. The memories of what happend in the game flashing in the background as she's walking give a feeling that she's trudging through life. The temporary "I just wanna die, If only I could die" Felt so real to me, As I've had thoughts like that. Just trudging through life, wanting to die but too scared to do it yourself. But you keep getting back up, because if you're going to die, you'll make sure to die anywhere else.

The way you made mea sing this it's like shes remembering all the good times with her old friends as shes slowly dieing alone with no one to comfort her. The lyrics remind me that she wants to die somewhere she made no memories. So am I the only one crying to this song?

Yeah i agree this probably was better than the game. But the main job of a game isn't to look good it's to make it clear on what's happening or what needs doing. But if there was a remake or remaster yeah, there is more that could be done.
If they make a remaster they need to have nitw 2

Here it is. I met this album through finding this song back on february this year, from the title alone I knew I had to listen to this whole album, and that I had to listen to on autumn, I waited for months excited to listen, until september arrived and I began listening, waiting for this. All the time was worth it, the album is fantastic and it has seriously marked a really special autumn. I love NITW, it has been one of the games whose stories has touched me the most. I particularly relate to Mae and seeing her struggle to reach back home really moved me, this song feels exactly like that💙

I can't even begin to explain how much I love this. this song has so much meaning to me on a personal level and like.. as much as I LOVE the original and it's more upbeat tone, when it comes to what the lyrics mean to me.. this is more fitting. and MY GOD is it good. I love how it progressively becomes more emotional. the "they won't remember that I'm gone!" gave me shivers, and then as soon as the "I just wanna die" without the "anywhere else" part, and the voice cracks, and just... oh my god, tears. this is so perfect

This is an absolutely beautiful song with an incredible singer that literally made me depressed for a whole day just by listening to it a few times. UA-cam confuses me sometimes.

3:02 But seriously, the "I just wanna die" part (Without the anywhere else bit) hit so hard, and the buildup leading up to that one line, and making sound like Mae was on the verge of tears, it really captures the tragic nature of this song and this game, just *Chefs kiss*
