It does make Lexa look weak in the eyes of some grounders. Mainly because the grounders don't even want an alliance with Skaikru. Lexa is a visionary so it's hard on some grounders. But Lexa is badass!

I wouldn't say it's visionary so far because it's not an alliance for peace, it's an alliance for war. It's the smart thing to do against Mount Weather and the other Grounders are just too dumb to see it.

Letting Clarke live makes Lexa look weak but it is also the smartest choice for her. It is more important to have this alliance than to get revenge in the long run.
It makes more sense later when you realize that her AI advises and helps towards alliance building.

Clarke’s journey to one of my favorite character started here. That’s why I get so mad when people trash her in the show and form the fanbase as well. She always makes the tough decisions and she never intends for it to go that way. But when it does she never stops to find a better solution.
Also with the whole Alexa showing weakness thing. As a leader she could’ve let her people attack Clarke but then that would’ve resulted in war. They don’t have to kill the sky people and they both have a common enemy. Finn died for what he did and that should be it.
Nah that's Clarke's decent to depression and PTSD and trauma. She only gets better from s4 and going, but that's not a pretty "storyline" from Clarke on s2. The way she ends with the "I bear it so they don't have to" and isolate herself in self-hatred and loneliness and suicidal tendencies is not healthy and doesn't make a "badass hero" of her.
Clarke is literally the worst person in show. She was okay in the beginning but turned to shit in the later episodes. Fuck clarke
For this and mayweather I wasn't mad at Clark but okay with letting her people die to protect Madi that was selfish. She deserved to be hated for that.

In the eyes of some of her people, her letting Clarke live may make her look weak, but Lexa was being extremely smart, she knows they need Skikru to defeat the Mountain and cure the repears, so she was looking out for her people by allowing Finn to die in exchange for hundreds of her people living
No worries Marketta, you didnt spoil anything. They did mention that he was in prison for spacewalking illegally.
Also, this episode did a great job of fully explaining all of Finn's character, his abandonment issues, how unstable he has always been, and why he was never actually a pacifist nor built for this world.

Clarke did the right thing it was either a quick death or a long torture death that's why Finn said thank you princess because he did not want to get tortured so she made sure that didn't happen so she actually did him a favor and yes Raven will be upset but she will get over it when she sees it with her own eyes what would have happened to Finn if Clarke didn't do it that way

It helps them trust Clarke though because she's willing to put down one of her own to keep the peace.
Lexa can be quite ruthless at times, but she's also the most progressive commander they've had. She saw an opportunity to defeat the Grounders worst enemy in the Mountain Men. She would have been foolish not to create an alliance with the Skaikru to eradicate them. But alliances are always uneasy, always ended by someone betraying another. She couldn't rightfully let Finn go unpunished for wiping out a village, but if she truly stuck with the old ways, the Skaikru would have fought back for the torturing of Finn. They were already forcing them to watch. It was dangerous for Lexa, but a necessary risk. Execution is one thing, torture is another.

In the eyes of her people, I think it might make Lexa look weak (at least for some grounders), whoever she did the right thing cause yeah they need to work together to beat Mount Weather, I feel like Lexa prioritized having an alliance with Sky People over Finn's death, and that's really smart on her part..
I really love Lexa, she's my favorite on this show, and one of the best characters in it along with Murphy Clarke.

this scene could've been really emotional if they'd done the Finn thing with any nuance or moral ambiguity, instead we got him pulling a complete Danaerys and every character acting weirdly stupid and talking as if he'd done something different than what we saw him do. Also when I watch these previous seasons I like them, but also... the show seems better now? At least s4 and s6, I like the mood better. As they said themselves, on these ones, the characters are very keen to turn against each others (which is logical, the timeline is still very short). There's more loyalty and friendship tying them together later.

Shit!!!!” I binged the first 5 seasons in 2018......mad I didn’t get into the show when it started, but glad to have 5 awesome seasons to watch and now the agonizing wait of old school weekly episode waiting....Season 6...looking forward to y’all watching it!!!

Ya know everybody hated Finn and was happy when he left but for me this is when I stopped watching the show and started watching clips on UA-cam. I just couldn't do it I freaking loved Finn
I am new to this show and I've just finished watching S2 , it's devastating that they really killed Finn off.
I've come across some people's comments and I just can't get why people hated him and were happy with his death ! He was a good guy, he just lost it like anybody might have done. They all did something wrong, some of them were even about to kill one of their own and that was totally fine, but when it came to Finn, No it wasn't. Seriously people!!
He did deserve to be punished but not dead. I wish I could see more of him in the show. It was so heartbreaking to see him dead. He really deserved to be one of the main characters.
I barley could finish the season after he died. I can't even keep watching the rest of the show, it just got ruined to me without Finn being in it anymore 💔
And eventually, His death was for nothing. The grounders' leader betrayed them and the alliance didn't exist anymore. I think instead of trusting her, Clark should've Fought for him. He did all of that for her in the first place !

I screamed when Chris said "rat hole to rat hole" like no one watches Future Man so I never have anyone to talk to about it. lol I think Lexa wasn't being weak because the end goal was achieved and they also got the secret to curing reapers.
Also here's a bit of exposition that confused me for years watching this show and you'd only know from like interviews I don't think it's ever been explicitly said in the show, the ark was an amalgam of all the stations that were already in orbit before armageddon which is why they were all so well established and from different nations.
