After 50 years of sax playing , I've come to the conclusion I can use any reed brand, any strength, any cut, on my 5 alto Meyers mouthpieces, 3 7MM's, one 8MM,and one 6MM

yeah, good reed the first try, but it wont hold up very long.
huh? I've played some of them for weeks at a time - you have to adjust to a changing reed.
@@DavePollack I am not saying that the reeds are bad, I think most reeds tend to change to fast these days. The BSS reeds are made by rigotti and they play very simular.
Dear Dave, Thank you for this video. Did you try Boston reeds with your tenor mpc 10mfan classic in ultem ? If yes, which strength is the best suited for you (I remember you play a 7*). Which reed and strength do you usually play with this mpc ? I've got a 10mfan classic 7* in ultem too, strength 3 is a little bit weak whereas the comparison chart made me think it should be a bit hard. For my next order I hesitate between 3,5 and 4. Thanks in advance for your reply.
