This fits the bill for me since I am primarily a Studio One user. I also like that it has a small footprint, allowing it to fit easily within my current home studio setup, and any controller that has deep integration such as this is a step in the right direction for a better workflow and production experience. Looking forward to mine arriving very soon from Sweetwater.
You're right. As a S1 user too, I've just purchased Faderport8 + Studio 18|24 for my S1 for better working environment, and it really helped. Also as a part time live SoundFX performer(for TV show), I'm considering a pads controller for instant SFX play, maybe ATOM.
朱尔丹 Congrats on your studio setup. I now have the Atom and have had a chance to use it in my recent live beatmaking production and could not be more satisfied. Def a plus in any Studio One setup.
Hey! Josh here at Sweetwater… Thanks for the inquiry! Great question. The Atom is primarily meant to work in conjunction with Studio One. If you want to have something like it, then I would point you towards using a Push 2 or any of the Akai Novation controllers for Ableton Live. Feel free to call me if you have any other questions. Josh Kattner, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1689, Josh_Kattner@Sweetwater.com
You totally could use this as a drum machine for live performance. However, you would need to haul around a computer, as well. This unit is only a controller, does not have any built-in sounds, and the sound comes through the computer. There are some other easier, more elegant solutions out there, as well. Give me a buzz here or send me a message, I'd be happy to help! Philip Courtney, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1968, philip_courtney@sweetwater.com
Hi, Jamie! There is nothing wrong with using multiples, you can just MIDI map the buttons and pad to do whatever you need. Thanks for your interest! Mike Wuchter, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (260) 247-8114
I'm waiting for the next version of atom. Maybe "Molecule?" or something that has 64 playing pads to compete with launchpad. I love Presonus in everything that I own, but Atom is just too "small" in # of pads for it to be appealing. I suggest Presonus make 64 Pads version. I would be the fist one to buy. For now i stick with Launchpad. Thanks!
are the navigation keys kind of suspect when using in the song setup mode? sometimes they work when I'm trying to access a plug in while in the browser while in the song setup mode. seems to work fine in all the other areas of the atom though. using studio 1 4.5, with the latest universal control and firmware update. makin sure I don't have a faulty unit. yep!
Hello - great question. This will work with Cubase, although will require some manual mapping and not all features that would work in Studio One will be compatible. Thanks! Jason Filloramo, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1281, Jason_Filloramo@sweetwater.com
Hello! Jose from Sweetwater, here. Great question! I'm a little unclear on exactly how you are wanting to play the music on the pads, but I'd love to speak with you more on the details so I can better answer your question. Feel free to give me a shout at my contact information below. Thanks for the interest! Jose Gonzalez, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1786, jose_gonzalez@sweetwater.com
Hi, JJ. You will absolutely be able to use the Atom controller with a mobile device. The only thing to keep in mind is that it will work as a general MIDI device, and its built in mapping will not carry over to the programs you will use it with. Instead, you will have to map it out yourself. Thanks for your interest! Mike Wuchter, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1789, michael_wuchter@sweetwater.com
Hey, Gerald! It's Mickey from Sweetwater, thanks for reaching out! The Atom Pad itself is just a MIDI controller, so you will need an interface like the iTwo from Presonus to record the tracks themselves. But then you can use the Atom to control parameters of the tracks once recorded. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have other questions! Mickey Cushing, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3024, Mickey_Cushing@Sweetwater.com
Great question! The Atom can work with any DAW as a MIDI controller, but may require some more manual programming than it would if using it with Studio One. Can I program sound effects (ie clapping, scream, suspense sound effect) from my hard drive into the keypads on the Presonus Atom so that I can use them for my podcast?
The Atom Controller does have a MIDI mode that would allow you to map it to EZ Drummer or any virtual instrument. Thanks for the interest! Mike Godlove, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1355
@@sweetwater Thanks Mike. I got your correct answer from my guy Chris Nunley also. Sweetwater is The Place for all purchases. The Atom is now on it's way to my house.

After reviewing the manual, I don't see that you can control that from the ATOM itself. Thanks for the message! Derek Senestraro, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1243
Other than being a fan boy, what SPECIFICALLY do you prefer about the Korg PadKontrol over the ATOM? How do you use the PadKontrol to integrate with Studio One?
Love this presentation. Other UA-camrs take note, because this guy knows how to show off equipment properly. Straight to what it's all about.
Finally a clear, concise and USEFUL video on how to use this little gem. Thanks, Sweetwater!!

Would be cool to have a Atom keyboard with the Atom pad controller !!!!!!😎
If it doesn't double trigger like the MPD218 I'm sold.
Just got the ATOM courtesy of Sweetwater. Gotta say it SLAMS the MPD218
Theres a fix for that. The Akai is also 1/3 the price, just saying.
Smee2000 - What's the fix you speak of?
Smee2000 2/3 and the fix doesn’t work just saying
Something cool for the presonus people
FL ought to make this their next move. They can't just leave us with a midi step sequencer and not go to the next level
Check out the Akai Professional Fire FL Studio Controller
@@marshallwilliams9320 | That's what AughtboyJ was referring to.
Dope that FL teamed up with the iconic Akai but was disappointed they didn't add piano keys and/or drumPads to that midi sequencer
Thanks for clarifying. I thought he was looking for a controller that would integrate with FL Studio. Just trying to help. :)
How good is the Ableton integration? Is there a remote script and do all the features work???

Does anybody know how he was able to play chords using just single pads towards the end? Is there a setting on the Atom that can do that? Thanks!
Can this one work in live gigs? Im an acoustic player i want a back up drums playing along with my songs.

Brilliant
i can finally get rid of my years old korg PADkontrol ..... lol something to match it
Still love my PADkontrol, why not have both?
ALL MIDI CONTROLLERS SHOULD HAVE PRESET FUNCTIONALITY OR BUTTONS!!!!!
Yeah.
I hate it when controllers dont have buttons
Still there is no Swing in SO4, so it's still useless if you want to make it groove
