Often, we are reminded of 2 Corinthians 10:5, to take every thought captive and line it up with the Word of God. When correcting negative thoughts, we can tend to remind ourselves what the Bible says and move on. However, our thoughts can alert us that a more critical issue exists within our hearts than our conscious minds might realize. Dr. Matt suggests a practical approach to address these thoughts: first, detach and step into your Spirit to observe the thoughts from the outside. Then ask yourself, "If Jesus lives inside me and I have the mind of Christ, would I be having this thought?" and "Would God say this about me?" By doing so, we can determine the underlying issue.
