I really don't understand how anyone could think this gun is ugly! IMO it's one of the best looking pcs I've ever seen..Awesome! But to each his own I guess.
Both Revolvers are just flat out Good Looking!! You are gonna make me buy one pretty soon. Thanks for showing both of them during this video....As always Stay Safe my Friend! Beretta Sr.
Congratulations to you my friend !! LOL...I ordered the exact same 327 from "H" well over a year ago. But, after about a year I gave up (in frustration), and used my deposit $$ to purchase something else from them (thinking that it would never arrive from S&W). I think that THIS 327 is the one that I ordered and it did FINALLY come in...lol. Dam, I should have been more patient...lol !! Enjoy your new addition to the family my friend...and I always look forward to your new postings.
Not ugly at all. I've got the Smith TRR8. Basically the same gun. Love all my wheel guns. Glad to see Smith & Wesson still devoted to producing innovative and quality revolvers. Wish Colt would've got their act together and done the same. Good vid. Kudos and congratulations.
IronMan Ozz Yeah most people do not "get it" and think it looks ugly as hell. 2" barrel? But I do feel this thing serves a specific role. I think it makes sense. I too wish Colt would start re-instroducing revolvers. How do you like that TRR8? I had been told a local SWAT team had used the M&P R8 for a little while but no longer do. What I don't get with that situation was they only loaded that up with 38spl+p not 357mag. Thanks for the comment!
Personally, I love everything about this gun except the exposed hammer. That's why for me, the bodyguard model is more to my liking. Having said that, the 8 shot capacity is really nice. Too bad they don't make this with a shrouded hammer. Inside the waistband is how I would carry and I don't want the hammer getting caught on clothes when having to remove it quickly. Maybe with a lot of practice this problem could be eliminated. Nice review, nice gun.
So badass I just love revovlers I am 14 and know they are great for self defence due to the cartridges they use my favorite revovler is the smith and wesson 327 8 shot night guard revolver love the vid
Nice demo! I have the pd360 with exactly the same features but a J frame with a 5 shot cylinder. I even got hold of a nice wooden grip same color as yours. I swap it out occasionally with a three finger rubber grip too. Just need to find the right holster. Honestly its so light you very easily forget you have it .. my choice for a CCW.
Theol1911. Thank you for all the videos on this 327 pugnose. Its an absolutely gorgeous piece. Ive listened closely to all your reviews and decided to take a leap of faith and order one. My local ffl just got it in and its everything i expected and more. I cant believe how light it is. Once again. Thank you. You helped me make a decision i was stuck on. Hope to see more reviews of this pugnose.
desert 230gr It shoots great. Very accurate. I used Speer gold short barrel ammo. 135gr. I use it as a bedside piece. Close quarters. Definitely a beast. Very airlight yet surprisingly very manageable. Hope I answered your question. Anything you want to know. Glad to feedback. Good luck.
Brandon Lapine It is a great wheelie! But it has its limitations for sure but it suits my needs at this time! Still carrying it today! Stay tuned for an update #3 on how its been!
Sweet! The point of a short barrel is in close quarters battle or hand-in-hand fighting your enemy does not have a barrel to grab onto And twist the gun out your hand. Being more concealable is really not the point when you have an N frame.
David Goldberg thanks for the comment - I believe this design was created in 2004 from what I was told. CCW in mind and even LE in mind. I am shocked that two guys I talk to here who are cops have purchased this just recently. One cop told me he will be using this as a back up pocket gun (????) in uniform and the other stated it will be his new duty gun. His current duty gun is a j-frame if you can believe that. But because of his role it makes sense. So still some LEOs out there (not many) that carry the old wheelie.
Have an old 686.As much difference as day and night.Putting all of their QC in plastic guns. The new one I have has a very poor finish.Like I said Will never buy another SW
ERIC K. I do think this is a very specific type of gun. Not for everyone. Definitely for concealed carry. I remember its predecessor the S&W 242Ti which was the humpback L-Frame 38spl+p 7-shot. I don't think that model lasted long. But this one being an 8-shot N-Frame in .357mag that is highly concealable is pretty cool.
Man I really love the 327! High on my to buy list. 21 ounces is not too crazy light compared with the airweight J frames. I would likely stick with my J frame for EDC but this revolver just looks mean and like some fun at the range. They arent cheap though, list for $1300 on S&Ws site. What are they going for real world?
Never seen one on vid before. This is one fugly revolver! I will say that it is better looking when viewed in a vid. Smiths web site does not do this revolver justice in the eye candy department. I grew up on wheel guns as an LEO. I may have semi autos now, but the wheel gun will always be my number one!
PART TIME PREPPERS funny - a LEO I talk to here told me he plans to get one off Gun Broker as he will be using it as a pocket back up gun!?!?!? In uniform. Wow...hahahahahaha
leighrate good deal. I so wish SL Variant made an 8-shot loader but I've come to terms with the 5-Star as its the only option. So I've been training with them. Not bad at all. I just prefer the SL Variants. Moon clips are only for the range.
Just picked one and took it to range today because of your channel. Wow! It was fun to shoot. Got a little thumb rub from 357 ammo. What grips did you finally decide on?
+CooperBon first off congrats and dang - it appears a good amount of people are buying these now! LOL. I now use Ahrends Grips (Concealed Carry Boots) - please check out my "Update" vids on this revolver. I carried it religiously throughout 2015...
Love the color combo, looks very elegant. Also, what speed loader do you use for your 637? I have a 442 and the hks speedloaders dont seem to fit very well. Thanks!
bprice1892 Thanks, it is an interesting color combo for sure. It will be interesting to see how it holds up to holster wear. Regarding speed loaders. I will only use SL Variants. I've gone through a ton of j-frames (and I'm about to do another switch with the 637 maybe for personal reasons) and I've trained and practiced using the SL Variants. I so wish SL Variant made an 8-shot loader. So I've had to train and practice with the 5-Star. But for the j-frame its always the SL Variant. Unfortunately there are none available anywhere. If you go on eBay people are selling them almost for $90!?!?!?!?! Its a $30 item...nuts. I will say the 5 Star speed loaders do work a ton better than HKS. The knob turns the opposite way than the HKS but they fit very well. Maybe take a look at a 5-shot 5 Star speed loader.
Derrick Walter thanks - although most think it looks silly/ugly and do not understand its purpose...I'll have to do a vid on the reasoning at some point.
This might seem like a stupid question, considering the circumstances a gun like this would be used in, but wouldn't that destroy your ears when you fired it? I'd like a gun that i'd be able to use for CCW that would be good enough for stopping someone, but i'd also like to keep my hearing.
Parks Parks very true. Hence why I have changed my carry load to a more "reasonable" street load. Gold Dot 135gr Short Barrel 357mag. I got 1115fps - 1130fps so that's not bad. Lower muzzle blast/flash than the 125gr full houses and the report is much more tame (I mean still loud) than the full house stuff for sure! But stay tuned as I had a set back with this wheelie :(
You know - If you are looking at a full stainless you might want to chk out the 8-shot version 627 snubbie. I think the pug nose is kinda a speciality gun. Its not a be all end all by any means but its something that you can have on you relatively all the time (sorta like a j-frame). I carry it still to this day religiously but honestly it would not be my first choice of carry if I knew I was gonna be in trouble. I am still very partial to the good ol 1911 pistol so... but the pug is more of convenience and I like the 8 shots but a ton of people do not feel this is a practical wheelie at all because of its 2" barrel. So...
***** Thanks! Yes a ton of people are asking what is the point of that!?!? I'll have to do a video at some point. Have you tested any of the Critical Duty 135gr? I have a lot of the 125gr Critical Defense but I'm being told because of the titanium cylinder I have to be aware of what loadings I use. I've been told any type of "short barrel" is OK and 135gr - 158gr is safe...but 125gr be wary feeding a steady diet of that.
***** I am going to be completely honest with you. I have never fired a 357 magnum revolver I have only shot a .38 special. I actually do not own a firearm but I am looking at them very closely. I have gotten to shoot before and it is quite fun and enjoyable although quite expensive. I have already decided what I want my first firearm to be and that is a Beretta PX4 Storm INOX Full-Size 9mm. I have fired the subcompact variant of the PX4 Storm and it did feel right in my hand. The only thing standing in my way is finances with which to acquire the firearm. I have seen the video that tnoutdoors9 did with the critical defense 357 magnum and it is all out devastation. I haven't seen any ballistics tests with the critical duty in 357 magnum otherwise I would go with that provided it at least performs similarly to the critical defense.
Dang old video - do not carry this anymore but I carried it for a long time and the wear shows.....but the cleaner I use is Hoppes Elite www.amazon.com/Hoppes-Elite-Cleaner-Bottle-Ounces/dp/B0013RA3A6 and use a pencil eraser on the face of the cylinder for the burn rings. Enjoy!
jdawg54874 A guy at the club has the 327NG and carries it often. Since he is an older gentleman with arthritis in his hands he loads it with Gold Dot Short Barrel 38spl+p's and still feels well armed. That is a nice piece for sure! I think he put ivory grips on it and that Tyler T. Looks a little funny but he likes it.
Angel Duran Its funny as most people do not like it or maybe its more of "What is the point of that thing????" so I'll have to do a video on that next month...
Great looking gun .The weight surprise me.I know you have big hands but gripping that your hands look like a ten year boys hands.LOL thanks nice video.
I love and hate the revolver. I wish the cylinder was a black finish. because once you start getting burn marks it's hard to remove on titanium. Well from what I've read because I do not not own the 327 performance center Pug. Maybe Yankee Marshal's method of using scotch pad + hoppes 7 or M-PRO7 if you don't like the smell. Shoot that beast on video for us.
cvang234 it is true, you have to take care not to disturb the protective coating on the titanium or else it will erode. Yes range reflection coming up soon...i don't have a ton of footage but i think it will get the point across or I can do more footage...stay tuned!
Not a big revolver guy, tho I like there reliability.. If I were to get one I would get the chiapa rhino like the one Yankee Marshall has. But this one looks cool too!
I really enjoy the R8. Performance Center trigger is fantastic along with 8 rounds!! I am not a fan of the 5". I think the Pro Series 4" is my next purchase...but I do have a 986 on its way to me as well. Hopeful the 9mm is as much fun as the r8!!!
For Some reason, I too would like to Carry this Thing with Practice, it can be done Successfully. Why, pushing ourselves to the Limit I suppose. Nice Video!
JOHN PUBLIC the biggest thing with this wheelie is its very lightweight and concealable but yes it does require a bit of practice to use this tool effectively. I say go for it!
***** For now keeping the stock grips as I've taken it to the range and put a ton of rounds through it and feel confident / comfortable with the stock grips. I have concealed carried it inside my home to begin my transition and the grip does print a tad if I bend certain ways. I'm unsure if I would carry this in the summer but if I do I think I will need to change the grips. Although I tend to favor some type of j-frame for summer carry so...we'll see.
freedoomed very nice! That M&P R8 was used by a local SWAT team I was told but they no longer are utilizing it. I had been told they loaded it with 38spl+p not .357mag which was interesting....
***** the R8 is an absolute kitten with standard load 38. I'm guessing the +P gave them enough stopping power but still helped them manage recoil for follow up shots.
freedoomed true...I was told the "shield man" would hold the M&P R8 with one hand and the shield with the other. I wish I could get more info on that. I don't know what 38spl+p load they used, I'd be very interested.
Terry Palmer very nice - let me know if you have any thoughts or we can exchange 'notes'! LOL. What load are you going to use? Also be aware that nothing less than a 120gr magnum should be used in this thing. I've even been told to be wary about a steady diet of 125gr magnums!? Short Barrel formulas made by Gold Dot and Buf Bore are OK. Critical Duty 135gr also was suggested to me. I'm still experimenting with magnum loads though. I like the Buf Bore but after seeing the footage (coming soon) the blast is still a ton.
I like almost every think about this shooter apart from the 3 different colours that makes it look like a toy, and with a pointless 2"barrel.. it might collect a lot of dust with being a pricey paper weight, if i had it...
Hello. Sorry man, but your gun don´t have de marc (Performan Center) in the corp of gun, only I`can see this marc in the wood. That is anormal. It is a original?
Michael Soto I'll get it up this weekend.....I got some footage, I hope its enough - but oh well. Its what I got so far. Thanks! Most think its ugly, LOL.
Dude! I would have them send me another screw immediately! There is no excuse for stripping a screw in the handle! My Goodness!!! They shouldn't call themselves "The Performance Center" looking at some of the work coming out of there. I just saw another video of a cracked frame from their performance center... They repaired it, shot it, and sent the gun back dirty!!!!
Now a days I don't fret over it but if I had to clean the face of the cylinder or the cylinder itself I use Hoppe's Elite Gun Cleaner (spray bottle) and a pencil eraser for burn rings!
Andrew Hopkins thanks for the comment. It is pricy. Mainly because of the titanium being used. I was told this is one of the reasons why they do not release many of these a year (as well as it not being a popular model). Titanium is hard to work with and it can ruin cutting tools. Also the cost of titanium fluctuates like gold I guess so it could be $42/lb and the next month it could be $72/lb. But this wheelie serves a specific role which is mainly CCW...maybe I'll do a vid about it next month on the pros/cons.
***** I'm planning on getting a 637 when money allows. I like having the exposed hammer just for looks and the option to shoot single action if I want to for precision.
Andrew Hopkins makes perfect sense. I thought I would but for me personally (total training issue) I've realized some issues with my 637 (nothing wrong with the gun). So it got me thinking about going back to a "shrouded" hammer.
I really don't understand how anyone could think this gun is ugly! IMO it's one of the best looking pcs I've ever seen..Awesome! But to each his own I guess.
I own this baby my everyday carry and I love it so much
Both Revolvers are just flat out Good Looking!! You are gonna make me buy one pretty soon. Thanks for showing both of them during this video....As always Stay Safe my Friend! Beretta Sr.
***** Hey friends! LOL - I think you need to get at least 1 nice wheelie for the collection! Thanks as always!
Absolute PERFECTION.....
i'm buying one of these in a couple weeks for my first personal defense gun. making the jump to concealed. thank you for this video.
Awesome revoiver. I am an S&W fan and this model had all the great features...such as 8 rounds light weight and compact in a reliable revolver format.
that grey and black and wood grip..s&w knocked it out the park with this one
Excellent revolver ...S&W did a great job designing the 327 --that ball detent lockup system should keep the cylinder tight for many firing cycles...
It's beautiful Ol1911! Congrats my friend! - Young Beretta
***** thanks YoungBer I always appreciate your guys support and opinions/thoughts!
Nice looking revolver, and it holds eight rounds!
Nice speedload execution. Smooth as butter.

357 with short barrel designed ammo is a very effective round.

We just got one in at my shop. You weren't kidding when you said it locks up tight! Hoffmans usually has a good amount of Performance Center guns.
Musicalbullet I'll send you a message
That's a viscous looking wheel gun! Good luck with that.
***** funny you say that someone else was like "That is ugly like a bulldog and I would never want to mess with a bulldog!"
Personally, I love everything about this gun except the exposed hammer. That's why for me, the bodyguard model is more to my liking. Having said that, the 8 shot capacity is really nice. Too bad they don't make this with a shrouded hammer. Inside the waistband is how I would carry and I don't want the hammer getting caught on clothes when having to remove it quickly. desert 230gr It shoots great. Very accurate. I used Speer gold short barrel ammo. 135gr. I use it as a bedside piece. Close quarters. Definitely a beast. Very airlight yet surprisingly very manageable. Hope I answered your question. Anything you want to know. Glad to feedback. Good luck.
I think it's awesome looking .. congrats.
Nice score. Digging the revolver love. 8 shot .357 is serious firepower. Looking forward to seeing holster.
ramsd1 thanks - its nothing really to look at but its very functional! Stay tuned.
Thats an awesome looking gun, if I ever see one in a shop ill definitely havta get it
Brandon Lapine It is a great wheelie! But it has its limitations for sure but it suits my needs at this time! Still carrying it today! Stay tuned for an update #3 on how its been!
That 327 is bad ass!!
campbell2054 thanks! I think so also, especially from the muzzle end!
I specifically asked about this thing on your socom video. It's badass
Very cool. I'll be waiting for a range report after you've had a chance to shoot it.
Tom Nelson thanks as always! that will come this weekend!
Most beautiful dope bad ass looking gun of all time, I like it and love it.
Very nice. Those grips are beautiful.
Charles Martellus thanks! although if I do attempt to conceal carry this during the summer months the grips will have to go I think.
Sweet! The point of a short barrel is in close quarters battle or hand-in-hand fighting your enemy does not have a barrel to grab onto And twist the gun out your hand. Being more concealable is really not the point when you have an N frame.
Nice S&W 8 shot revolver you can't go wrong there.
Mark Dunavant thanks! so far so good!
Great choice for CCW. Let's see some range vids.. Good luck
billsbullets thanks, stay tuned
S&W's designs are getting better. That barrel shroud design on my Dan Wesson model 15 is very accurate! Although it's a six inch barrel.
David Goldberg thanks for the comment - I believe this design was created in 2004 from what I was told. CCW in mind and even LE in mind. If I was a Leo in Mayberry I may consider a wheel gun, but in the real world I would need firepower, like a Glock G20 with lots of mags!
David Goldberg I'll send ya a quick message...
Very cool!! I like it. Cheers!
Jon
Bro that is amazing! Congrats!
Jarhead6 thanks as always my friend!
Bought a 686 ejector rod came unscrewed.Smith wesson quality control is not what it use to be.Will never buy another SW.

Nice! I just bought a 340pd and this might have to be next.
Pretty interesting concept of this revolver.
ERIC K. I do think this is a very specific type of gun. Not for everyone. Definitely for concealed carry. I remember its predecessor the S&W 242Ti which was the humpback L-Frame 38spl+p 7-shot. Oh man....it looks perfect...

Speed loader, very definitely.
2" snubbies are sub 7 yard guns anyway so personally I wouldn't be too concerned about the sights.

What a beauty. How’s it holding up?
So it's a model 327 in 357 caliber?
Not in ruger327 caliber right...🙀...
Amazing gun, but I would put a shorter grip for cc
Ikr?
Great video thanks! Did the holster come with it?

great looking gun!

Enjoy!
TheOl1911 Thanks.. It would be great to see a video where you illustrate the wear and tear to show how it holds up to extended carry.
I'd love the 327 night guard or the performance center 5" 627
jdawg54874 A guy at the club has the 327NG and carries it often. Since he is an older gentleman with arthritis in his hands he loads it with Gold Dot Short Barrel 38spl+p's and still feels well armed. That is a nice piece for sure! I think he put ivory grips on it and that Tyler T. Looks a little funny but he likes it.
Hello, what slack does GAP have? in thousandths of an inch or mms ...? best regards.
One sexy piece right there !!! thumbs way up, congratulations on a unique carry gun!
***** thanks man! this is definitely a specific type of gun. Stay tuned for the range vid!
Como puedo comprar una arma de esta, vivo en México, me gusto mucho esta arma...
What a beauty! New gun glow lol
Angel Duran Its funny as most people do not like it or maybe its more of "What is the point of that thing????" so I'll have to do a video on that next month...
Great looking gun .The weight surprise me.I know you have big hands but gripping that your hands look like a ten year boys hands.LOL thanks nice video.
thatspapsknife63 actually I do not have big hands so... LOL. But it handles fine. Stay tuned for the range reflection vid.
You intend to shoot .357 from your .327? What am I missing.
AndroGuns I tried the Chiapa a few times and I could not "get it". I guess I like the traditional. Maybe that will eventually change.
Great purchase!! Odd question. Your 327 has the same three dots on the left side of the frame as my 327 R8. What are those?
CBG8846 those dots are where I believe the pins are. How do you like that R8?
I really enjoy the R8. Performance Center trigger is fantastic along with 8 rounds!! I am not a fan of the 5". I think the Pro Series 4" is my next purchase...but I do have a 986 on its way to me as well. Hopeful the 9mm is as much fun as the r8!!!
Does that real light bullet weight (liberty) work with this?
It's the type of gun TJ Hooker staring the Film Director William Shatner
For Some reason, I too would like to Carry this Thing with Practice, it can be done Successfully. Why, pushing ourselves to the Limit I suppose. Nice Video!
JOHN PUBLIC the biggest thing with this wheelie is its very lightweight and concealable but yes it does require a bit of practice to use this tool effectively. I say go for it!
Did it come with that holster in the box?
Very nice gun
are you going to keep the longer grip or put a boot type?
***** For now keeping the stock grips as I've taken it to the range and put a ton of rounds through it and feel confident / comfortable with the stock grips. I have concealed carried it inside my home to begin my transition and the grip does print a tad if I bend certain ways. I'm unsure if I would carry this in the summer but if I do I think I will need to change the grips. Although I tend to favor some type of j-frame for summer carry so...we'll see.
Nice, i just got it's 5" barreled brother the R8
freedoomed very nice!
Nice video I just got this gun. Trying to find some black grips for it
Terry Palmer very nice - let me know if you have any thoughts or we can exchange 'notes'!
I'm using 158 GR. hollow points. And I love the Hogue Rubber Grips I put on it way more comfortable.
Nowhere on the Smith & Wesson website is this revolver referred to as a "pug nose".
Cool.i love guns.
Sir, I am interested in this gun. Can I buy it? I from Malaysia. Thank you
pure awesome!
ALLTINSOLDIER haha, I personally do like it a lot.
Looks cool. Expensive novelty. 357 out of a barrel that short?? Not for me
Patrick Lynch I think it has its place. Especially for CCW. I'll have to do a vid on the pros/cons on it.
Nice gun
Range video please lol beautiful piece
Michael Soto I'll get it up this weekend.....I got some footage, I hope its enough - but oh well. Its what I got so far. Thanks! Most think its ugly, LOL.
why don't they make these in .327 caliber?
Chiappas do look like rhinos, and this one really looks like a pug!
***** that's funny!
Would love having one S&W Pug...this is one of those times I just HATE the brazilian gun control...stupid law!
I like it but i thinks the barrel is to short and it should to be totally black
How you like the 686
How do you clean the titanium cylinder? Thanks!
Now a days I don't fret over it but if I had to clean the face of the cylinder or the cylinder itself I use Hoppe's Elite Gun Cleaner (spray bottle) and a pencil eraser for burn rings!
TheOl1911 Thank you for the response. You sold me on this firearm. Thanks for the videos!
*""HOW DOES THE GRIP FEEL,""???* *""ON THE PUGNOSE-327""?*
Subscribed bro!
+America 1911 45 acc thanks!
Really cool gun. Unfortunately it is way outside my price range :(
Andrew Hopkins thanks for the comment.
*****
I'm planning on getting a 637 when money allows.
