Pastor Doug Wilson reacts to Canadian politician Pierre Poilievre who gives a masterclass in how to talk to journalists. Doug Reacts is presented by Canon Press.
I can’t believe how viral this clip has gone!! The interview was in my hometown too. Pretty fun. I’ve been a big Pierre supporter for years. The next PM!
I'm in Alberta, and I am also stunned, but becoming more pleased, each time I hear another non-Canuck giving their thoughts and praise for one of us. Loving it. 😄🍁🧡
Here's what I also would've said to the journalist: "Ooooo, there's a Donald Trump playbook? That's very interesting to know. What's it called? Do you have a copy of it someplace? Maybe you can find the page in this playbook and show me what you're talking about".
As a Canadian, I thought I’d never raise my Canadian flag up my flagpole again. I’ve been beyond disgusted for the last eight years. Pierre is absolutely terrific. Whip smart, fearless and yes, common sense. Just what my country needs. I’ll proudly raise my flag again !
I have a new hat idea. I had 20 hats made a while back that said, "Make Justin Teach Drama Again". My new hats will say, "Make Common Sense Great Again". Thank you Doug and Pierre
Hahahaha! I knew you'd love this! I was laughing when I first saw it. His facial expressions are perfect. The casual apple crunching was the proverbial "cherry on top." It was brilliant. That's exactly how these insufferable vultures need to be dealt with, every single time.
@@kirkerickson1591 Not really. Yes, the conservatives recorded the interview and showed it on their youtube channel, but the reporter wasn't Conservative. So, it isn't a Conservative party interview, anymore than if the Conservatives recorded an interview with a CBC reporter (which they have also done). Sometimes recording an interview, with a print journalist is the only way to show exactly what was said in the interview, rather than relying on what the reporter writes. He is Don Uqruhart, the editor of Castanet. If you read the reporter's article after the interview, he tries to spin it to make Poilievre look bad.
A few days later I saw an reporter asking a tough question that was pointed (it invoked Harper policy) and Pierre could not use this tactic. He answered the question fully with a brilliant, articulate response. He can think in his feet and is on top of things. You would just get bafflegab word salad from a Liberal.
" I.ve got more important things to do....... like eating an apple", That's perfect! That clearly puts this journalist in the not so important category. Pierre hasn't time for the BS so the rest of you journalists take note and get to the point!
Canadian here! This is great to see! Doug, you have used an analogy about citizens being duct taped in the trunk of the car, and the democrats are wanting to drive the vehicle off the cliff at 80 mph, while the republicans are wanting to drive the vehicle off the cliff at 40 mph. Both of them will drive use off the cliff eventually, but one of them will give us more time to turn it around. That analogy is fitting for use here in Canada right now. Pierre isn't the perfect candidate, but he is an obvious improvement to who we have right now, and it may just slow things down enough that with the extra time we can take Canada back. Thanks Doug!
Ya I understand your argument and I see the validity for sure. However, history would seem to suggest that we rarely get to where we want to be when taking too big of a bite (zeitgeist). If our only option, in any real sense, is between the Conservatives and the Liberals, seems to me that having your message considered, is at least a possibility with the former and exactly zero with the latter.
As a Canadian Pierre has come out with a solid platform 1. Scrap carbon tax 2. Defund the cbc 3. Get the resource sector pumping out jobs and earning good profits 4. Dealing with rogue cities and towns that are causing the housing cost crisis with ridiculous bureaucracy. Ya he isn’t perfect, ya he has an edge , but if he delivers just 3 of these he will have accomplished more than the potato in office has in his entire tenure.
This is the simplest trick in the book when it comes to disengenuous comments. ASK. QUESTIONS. Forcing them to be specific with their accusations will often destroy their case before you even have to respond.
Pierre casually eating the apple indicates his total disdain for this and other biased reporters. He shut him down easily while leisurely enjoying a snack. It also reminds me of the symbolism of a teacher's apple because Pierre certainly took that reporter to school. Anyone who watches the highlights of QuestionPeriod in the House of Commons will see Pierre run intellectual circles around Truedope and all of his cabinet ministers.
