the fact that the man kept the women captive for 11 FCKIN YEARS but couldnt handle a MONTH himself in jail and hanged himself.....I mean what can i even say
It's definitely the easy way out in this case
I think he was terrified that he might get a life sentence and be put in prison where the general population would love to get their hands on him...
@@largol33t12No they really wouldn’t this is not some fairly tale land everyone in there has done worse so they wouldn’t care
That child has a right to know that his mother didn't abandon him... And that mother has the right to have her child back... I'm sad that I watched this because it literally just ruined me for the moment
💡She let a drunk boyfriend beat on her son, that's even worse!😷
No her mother let some drunk stranger in while she was looking for a job
It's the same thing if your dog runs away that's been with you for 4 years. After 5 years you find out that someone found and kept your dog and the dog is happy with his new family. Same thing....just leave it alone. This mother would ruin her sons life and the lives of the parents that adopted the boy.
@@RapIsDeadlythis is a dumb ass take
@@RapIsDeadly That’s completely different, she gave birth to her son and loved him. And she should at least get to meet him js one more time. Even if its js one more would make a huge difference. She didn’t get to see her child grow up for a decade.
Apparently, the actor who played "Ariel" hated doing this role but did it so the role was done properly.
I didn’t know this is a true story. I hope the kid knew that his mom never abandoned him.
I remember when this was on national news. No one was looking for her at all and the guy that saved her got arrested for old warrants.
@@damon19751wtf that’s so sad
Yeah this was massive worldwide news.. you never heard about this? You need to pay closer attention to current events it’s not like this even a real long time
Ago
apparently to this day Michelle still hasnt been able to see her son. She had to endure the heinous acts of Ariel for over a decade, where the only light in the darkness for her was the thought of her son. Only to be rescued and STILL forbidden to see her son. I depise the foster parents whole heartedly. They are almost just as evil as Ariel at that point. I understand Michelles view because she doesnt want to get in the way of his happy life, however, if i found out that my mom did not leave me; but was instead kidnapped and treated like that for years only to have my foster parents keep me from her.... id be livid. words couldnt describe the anger id feel towards those foster parents. The second id turn 18 in that scenario id leave them and never speak to them again. Id resent them to the day id die. Absolutely awful human beings in my opinon. Hell awaits people like them, just like it awaited Ariel.
Well sounds about right, there is madness in this world
Unfortunately cases like this exist in the world but I hope Michelle reunites with her son and experience happiness again
I'd like to hear their rationale. Do they have any, or are they just being selfish?
@@Adam.Langton probably selfish to point not allowing to give her one single picture
Selfish isn't enough word to describe that inhumane act
Well didn't she allow her drunk boyfriend to beat her son😵 So she says it was the boyfriend😔
It's sad that adaptive parents wouldn't even send a photo considering all that she went through. Like where is the humanity, i understand alot of adoptive parents fear the biological parents might destroy their family but like it's the biological parents that helped create your family. Like they could've sent her a photo and then year later brought it up to him for him to decide what he wants to do. Where is the compassion for what she went through. Let me stop because i can go on for hours 😂
You said something nice but then ended it with a laughing emoji 🤦🏾♀️ what exactly is funny?

" im Amanda berry. I've been kidnapped for 10 years now and I'm here. I'm free now." That audio call to the 911 was in my head the entire time I watched this.
😢
The fact Michelle didn't want to interrupt her son's perfect life😭
Makes no sense went 10 years fighting to see your son just to get out and be like welp idc anymore smh
@@TannerGoatedBecause that was a lie she was fighting for herself for gods sake she let a drunk watch her child I don’t care what she went through it doesn’t make up for that fact that kid had bones broken because of her
@@TannerGoated i don’t even think she has the option tbh. I mean the family said they didn’t want her to see her son so she got no choice but to js leave them be.
A strange men insisting for you to go to his house is the biggest red flag ever. I get that she was desperate, but she there were lots of signs to not go with him.
now days victim's obliviousness is more suprising than the actual crime itself, yikes....
Michelle Knight also had a learning disability. She wasn't all there mentally so she was very gullible and easily persuaded unfortunately.
Not a strang man but her friends father
The sad thing is her Son probably doesn't even know that he is adopted. He probably has no recollection of Michelle as he was still young.
“Part of his family”? You call rape, enslavement and beatings “becoming family”?
Well yea he did say he wanted companionship and even had one of the women give birth
The title is so unrealistic
@@candynike897 Why do you say that?
@@Bittyboo14 Because it makes the situation less gruesome than it actually is
In that effed up bastards head it was his "family".
Believe me, when you meet people in your life who go wild-eyed about family issues, be aware.
What kind of degree do you even need to work at a Laundromat... ?
I've been turned away from warehouse or shipping job listings because they said I needed a warehouse type college degree. It wasn't even for a management position of any kind. I've never heard of a "warehouse" college degree...
@@largol33t12 Thats just their way of saying "yea we don't want you because well we don't know we just don't want you here"
Foster Parents were no less cruel than Ariel 😢
... Really? the rapist, abductor, abuser, who hit a pregnant woman to kill the baby for 10 years is as bad as them?
Really well with that logic your no less cruel then her and her mother
@@BUNCHOFLOSERSYOUARE-np6ex what?
@@gigiarmany4332 What the hell do you mean what she let her abusive mother watch a child she doesn’t deserve a child
I remember this when it was breaking news when Charles had rescued Amanda Berry, Gina, and Michelle. He was doing the news report live and the nation was relieved. Sad that Michelle's son was so young at the time, but he was her strength through those years of abuse and trama. It's saddening that Michelle's son couldn't even know that he mother was abducted and didn't abandon him. Hopefully, when he's older, the truth will come out and he can be reunited with his mother. Wishing peace to those brave young women who endured so much.
I hope he isn’t what are we just gonna forget he got abused because of her just because she went through some abuse I’m not and I hope the kid doesn’t either
9:34 thats FUCKED UP!
Imagine being the son, watching this movie, and not knowing she's your mother all along.
He knows he was probably told about the whole reason he was taken away from his mother to begin with and just like any of us doesn’t want to see her

Amanda went to high school with my older sibling.. they graduated the same year she was taken. The first home I lived in, my dad’s childhood home, was 10 minutes away from Seymour Avenue. It all hits really close to home..
Thank you for the recap. This is extremely hard and to watch 😔😔.
I live in Cleveland was completely unaware that an event like this ever took place here. Mind blowing and shocking.
Jeez , what a brutal story
& really happened 🤯😪
Amazing recap as always❤
The girls endured so much😢😢
Hey Tuco, that's rough man..
He's Castro now, but still does the blue meth. 👍🍻🇺🇲
I don’t understand why people go and make these stories into movies/shows. I get we want to get the message out there for whatever reasons. And the people who make these movies/shows don’t listen to victims or even the families of victims. Can we stop using true crime stories to make a profit? A bunch of victims and their families have said it feels like a mockery. It’s already enough that there are so many interviews reawakening the trauma they have endured. But having your story turned into a film/show is something else. And I don’t mean documentaries, I’m talking about the dramatic interpretation of those stories. We’re basically in the world of “Scream” and those films/shows are our “Stab” franchise.
😂
It can't be done without their consent, so there has to be some amount of agreement.
Nope. It warns women not to be single moms. Warns women not to enter men houses alone. These stories SCARE people so they don't do the same mistakes.
@@Adam.Langton Jeffery Dahmer’s victims families have been asking to not make stuff related to that… and they don’t care and continue doing it.

Police's efficiency in handling the cases is heavenly😂😂 FBI, homeland, and the crap with being developed country. All goes in a smoke 😅
this is terrifieying
It's Cleveland. The police do nothing. Listen to Amanda Berry's desperate 911 call after she crawled out the screen door.. They are now having even fewer police 🚓 Anthony Sokul stomping grounds.😮

This man is sick!!
That doesn't even begin to describe it!! He's a sadistic psychopath!!!!

This was so hard to watch Idk what I was expecting but I guess I was not expecting it to be so brutal. Its already hard to trust and respect people (men mostly) around us. They can become such monsters. I dont care what anyone says, I sometimes despise men for posessing the power to bring the level of harm that they bring to women simply because they can.
Well but then what happens is that all men are vilified and when women gain political power they make things very difficult for all men, even the ones who don't deserve it.
Oh very funny whens the last time a woman saved someone from a kidnapper thats what I thought
Someone still living in the 1800s where women can't be serial killers... Or did you forget about elizabeth bathory... Belle gunnes... Aileen wuornos... Karla homolka.. Mary bell... Gertrude Baniszewski.... Maybe it's time to stop this man hating behaviour and watch some deadly women on discovery id...
it just seems shocking to me that over 12 years 3 women cant even run away from a terrace house captivity or even have a chance to escape considering they are not chain up anymore
Did you watch the movie? Not just this 17 minute clip?

I personally don’t like this story because i wanted it to end with micclle and her son ending up together and I don’t like how th either girls who kidnapped had their life back to normal and that micclle can’t see the most important thing in her life which is her son
She let a drunk watch her kid gave him injures because of it I wouldn't want him ever seeing her again either

Pure evil. Monster Ariel.
The way those girls shunned her afterward is wrong
Mitchell and co should have done better to escape, i understand its a movie, but it was just one man who wasn't even living underground or in the forest.

That’s so sad
The adoptive parents don’t realize the truth will eventually come out and the son will resent them forever
I would
I wouldn’t even speak to them again
Her son was adopted?! OMG. She was tortured in captivity and then tortured when she got out but learning that. Yikes.
Oh so he should have stayed in the orphanage to suffer people like you make me sick
America Cop 👍
I can empathize with the foster parents’ decision. (Disclaimer: Don’t know any of the actual people in the story. Aka, speculation)
Michelle’s situation was made national. Therefore, it would make sense that they don’t see Michelle as a scumbag mother.
However, as incredibly heartbreaking as it is, reuniting her with Joey would’ve been a bad move. Michelle being in the spotlight is a huge threat to what she wanted for Joey in the first place. Joey’s parents are in an extremely complex position. I imagine a long conversation led them to an understandable decision: To shield Joey from an overwhelming amount of attention that would fuse with the trauma he might be experiencing upon figuring out what happened to his mom.
Michelle’s story is gasoline to the fire, which isn’t her fault in any form or fashion. Perhaps Michelle knows this, thus respecting the decision of the parents. Her choosing her son is much safer route as oppose to finding him.
It also didn’t take her getting kidnapped for us to be convinced that she’s a phenomenal mother. She’s a mom at heart, and in my opinion, she made a motherly decision.
And although I’m no therapist, I would argue that a picture or letter would be in similar vein. Joey was three when Michelle got taken. He was a teenager when she was rescued. That’s a huge chunk of Joey’s life that might’ve planted seeds of resentment that a letter or picture wouldn’t magically erase.
Given the severity of the situation, I find it extremely hard to believe that the parents are being spiteful. Regardless, the ball is in Joey’s court when he’s an adult. There may or may not be a world where the parents are preparing him for that potential desire.
Glad this comment highlights at foster parents are not cruel because we don't their side of their story.
What were the adoptive parents told? I find it hard to believe they were told anything other than "The birth mother would like to make contact", and after eleven years of no contact would be suspicious. However, if they made that decision knowing what she'd been through, I think social services would be justified taking the kid away from such evil people.
I think you have no right to talk you wanna call them evil for not wanting to have their kid around the woman who had him severely injured

I definitely disagree with the majority of the comment section. Michelle was pretty much an unfit mother she made terrible decisions. Her son looked to be no older than three years old, which is young enough to start fresh with a new family. 🤷🏻♀️ I am glad the adoptive parents do not allow her any contact with her son.
