- Fly fishing for late season river trout can be some of the best fishing of the year! Mainland Australia has some exceptional fly fishing at times, so while some head off to NZ or Tasmania to get their thrills, I like to enjoy some of the excellent local fishing opportunities. Join me and a mate as we explore a magnificent piece of water in North East Victoria....

@anthonyclark6118 Tom went so close last year, 4th individually, missed the podium by 1 spot! But our ladies team just won bronze in the Czech Republic which is brilliant! :)

Ah thanks mate! Yeah I reckon I'll do a bit of everything over winter, some saltwater stuff around Sydney, some trout lakes, and I've got a trip up north planned in a couple of months which I'm really looking forward to.... :)

Nice video, beautiful river. I'm not sure where that is or when it was taken, but are we allowed to fish closed season trout streams in NSW as long as no fish are taken?
Hi mate, thanks! Season has closed now for listed trout streams in NSW, lakes are open though. River season opens again on the October long weekend. :)
Oh ps, no you can’t fish the rivers in closed season even if you take no fish.
How ridiculous that they have a closed season for a fish that is not native and has I'll ready wiped out native fish that can't be found any where else. Just fish for them in closed season if you want to but don't get caught

Haha, yes definitely an oversight on my part there! Don’t think I even had one in the fly box. I keep running back over that fish in my head with all the things I should’ve done….😅
