There is one more mod I'd add to this list, and is Undead Guardians. It makes you able to summon more undead that don't count towards the summon limit via using a black soul gem (filled) and some materials, and you can then use said undead to guard a place, make it follow you, or make it patrol an area. Very fucking cool if you happen to use the houses added by Undeath and you need guards, and you can even have your own skeletal dragon
Note that Undead Guardians is outdated now, and the sequel mod "Dead and Daedric Guardians" is what you should be installing now. Even if you don't plan to use the daedric aspect of the new mod, the undead aspect is enhanced in the new one, namely with skeletons that can visually equip armor, so it's worth switching
Something to keep in mind about Ordinator’s skeleton minions: find a mod that reduces or eliminates the noise skeletons make because they follow you EVERYWHERE and you’ll hear those noises all the time. Great video!
Some good mods for necromancy. One more I would add is Faster Reanimation. Just so when you raise some body off the ground it doesn't take them 100 years to get up. I don't know how many times I raised a corpse, then killed the reason I raised it before it finished getting up.
I would also add the mod that provides a follower named Morgaine. A female Necromancer from an extinct Elven race. It seems fitting to have her as a follower and assistant while playing as a Necromancer and questing to become a Lich.
Hey man I know this is kind of an older video but I come back to Skyrim occasionally and I love to play necromancers in most games. Just wanted to say thanks for making this video, you include a lot of mods I've never heard but ones that seem really useful like the "no more pointing" mod I had no idea was a thing and wouldn't have thought to look for.
When playing any Mage I prefer the Path of Sorcery mod over Ordinator. This is particularly true for my Necromancers. I find skeleton army creation to be vastly superior in Path o Sorcery.
I think I remember combining that with ordinator *and* another perk (I think necromancy specifically) mod using a fourth mod that had to turn them all into one ridiculously massive overhaul. It may have been extremely extensive but BOY did I feel like a powerful necromancy with my army of skeleton minions and conjurations.
I've been sick the past few weeks and I ended up bingewatching a good bulk of your videos lmao. Awesome content! I'm excited to jump back into Skyrim and try out the mods you showed on your channel :)
Nice video! I would add Vigilant, because it gives you tons of conjure spells of the enemies you defeated. Some are very cool like the child of Oblivion.
It would be cool if there was a mod that lets you choose and summon and slain NPCs. Sort of like Pokémon. Imagine with a click of a button you could summon an undead Ulfric. That would be cool.
bro, that is exactly what was lacking im my modded skyrim, ty, the only one that I think I'm not gonna use is the reusable corpses, since the base game have the thrall spells, that already do that
I would like to thank you for these selections of mods I like playing as a necromancer and you help me with a lot of stuff thank you please keep up the good work but if there's anybody out there that's the amount author for the mod classic lichdom or known the author please bring it to Bethesda that work for us Xbox players or at least make a bundle pack
I’ve always felt like Hearthfire should have focused on the subject of “reconstruction” considering Skyrim went through a civil war, a Dragon crisis, and if we’re to believe Skyrim’s DLCs canonically take place in order of release; a vampire crisis. Instead of simply building three houses in the wild, you could rebuild destroyed settlements such as the city of Winterhold, Helgen, or the Hall of the Vigilant. To add on to the theme of reformation, necromancy could’ve been used as a twisted form of reconstruction, using quests, featuring characters who raise the dead to assist in reconstructing these settlements. This of course results in necromancy becoming more popular among mages, resulting in an even larger number of sorcerers seeking to use it for their own gain.
Corpse Preparation is better than Ordinator for a Necromancer. it allows you to create Skeletons, Zombies, Mummies, and Ghosts that can follow you or guard your home.
Corpse Preparation has a ton of issues, though. (EDIT: According to what I read and have been told, mind you.) It's amazing as a base concept, but the way it's applied is pretty bad. The created undead cost a fortune in rare ingredients, yet they are very weak in general, they require carrying a single corpse at a time while heavily encumbered all the way to the altar under the College of Winterhold... and worst of all, the more you use the powers, the more corruption you get and eventually no NPCs want to speak with you for any reason, including vendors and quest givers. It eventually breaks the game unless your goal is to be hated by everyone and not do any quests involving speaking to someone. So... it being 'better than Ordinator for a Necromancer' is highly arguable if you ask me. :P
@@Xamy- Seperate necromancy and conjuration. Conjuration should only be daedra related summoning daedra from any of the daedric princes not just mehrunes dagon. Similar to seekers and lurkers with hermaes mora, saints and seducers, each prince should have their own daedric minions. So it can add plenty depth to choose from. Maybe you can align with a daedric prince to furthur enhance your abilitys with said god. Necromancy should involve bone collection, rituals, sacrifices, etc. But everything is done in the game world. As a necromancer you should have different methods of getting your undead army but it all exist in the game world and not through summoning. Really the corpses should realistically and naturally decay over time. Through fights and battles the flesh rips off real time. But not sure if skyrims engine can handle that maybe TES 6?
@@4Skyrim Having to set up all of your skeletal minions through collecting their remains sounds tedious, but at the same time, it sounds awesome as well. It gives room in the world for enemies and necromancer characters themselves to have these skeletal or rotting abominations. It could take a simple reskin of most NPC monsters to make them be a skeleton/zombie. Such a simple addition would make necromancy stand out among the likes of conjuration, as you'd have these undead creations that imitate overworld enemies instead of daedric creatures ripped from a plane of Oblivion.
@@AoBaiGaming Exactly as I stated bone collection, sacrifices, rituals, should be methods of reanimation of the dead. Not just bone collection. It can get deeper too, ghost can be a part of necromancy as well. Finding old books of the dead to learn how to do rituals to bring back spirits. Possession of the living with such spirits, watching the ghost enter a living being body to control their will. So many things you could do if you are creative. Im not a modder nor do I have the time but I'd hope that bethesda sees the potential in necromancy as a standalone dark magic.
But.. but... soul cairn? Kidding aside, necromancy is somewhat the summoning of souls, so it could be a subset of conjuration. There are mods that expand upon bone collecting for necromancy even, ordinator has some bone related perks integrated in conjuration.
I still dont know how to use dark arts with undead fx properly. The dead body bugged it become invinsible floating teeth and hair instead of undead fx draugr or skeleton body.
