why not LR 1st going down hill in 79? Driver kept jumping on brakes because rolling, but shouldn't have needed to using engine braking.

after watching many australian off road vids....do you guys use 4 low? seems like everyone in the wrong gear and in high range on the t case.as for rubber...i know all terrains are supposedly for all terrain. personal experience, is mud tires are best for all surfaces except ice and iced over packed snow. and does everyone carry around 14 extra tires? expense,weight,fuel economy, fighting inertia when your rig is stuck....less is actually more.

79pejeperro The Tundra is good but you will never see a diesel Tundra. Given a choice I believe this version would sell well in the US. Red tape is why we can't have affordable imports.....
Hurley Puma With the exception of a diesel engine (and a few minor cosmetic differences), the Toyota Tacoma (#1 selling mid-size pickup in the USA) is the Toyota Hilux. Personally, I'd never trade my V6 Tacoma for a slower diesel version, especially with diesel prices now virtually the same as gasoline.
By the way, the Tacoma & Tundra are primarily built here, not imported. Toyota once had diesel versions of each which didn't sell, so the diesels were dropped. Vehicles with gasoline engines consistently outsell vehicles with diesels, often by a wide margin.
gullf1sk Where do you get that notion? According to Toyota, the two are identical. They merged the two several years ago to cut costs, leaving only differences which benefits them in certain markets.
