  • I try out my new NanoVNA handheld Vector Analyzer to check the SWR on my Solarcon A-99 antenna. I was a little surprised by the readings compared to my analog SWR meters.

That NaNo vna would come in handy when modeling home brew antennas!. Keep in mind those analog meters are always be a little off, and dealing with the commercial buit antenna and coax, nothing is going to be spot on, heck, my Father would build and tune home brew 4 element quads and Yagis using an O'Scope, a Bird watt meter and graph paper, he never had a need for SWR meters, he too cheap to buy one...lol
Recently I've been fiddling with baluns and 450 ohm twin lead wire, inherently Twin lead has less loss and higher velocity factors than modern coax and can handle a couple thousand watts, Iam curious how that NaNo device will plot and measure performance of those two objects (baluns/twin lead).
    Great video, thanks for sharing!
