Attraverso la pratica dell’affissione pubblica, Sara Leghissa riorganizza un estratto del testo “Against ordinary language, the language of the body” di Kathy Acker. Mentre alcuneparole scorrono sulla facciata, altre si sganciano dal testo provando a creare una sospensione; un’estensione temporale. In quest’azione a ripetersi, il corpo che esegue la pratica e il contenuto del testo si incontrano, in una risonanza di significati e posizionamenti più o meno visibili.
Sara Leghissa (Milano, 1984) concentra la sua pratica sullo spazio pubblico, attraverso un principio di ecologia delle risorse che si serve il più possibile di ciò che è già disponibile nella realtà. Crea sistemi e dispositivi che cercano di mimetizzarsi e confondersi con il contesto, per veicolare immagini e contenuti e per incontrare e intercettare pubblici diversi attraverso l’uso di tecnologie accessibili e legate all’ordinario. Ha co-fondato il progetto artistico “Strasse” e presentato i propri lavori in numerosi festival di performing arts, gallerie d’arte e spazi pubblici. Co-organizza per la scena italiana “Nobodys Indiscipline”, “NESSUNO” e “Una Sauna”, spazi di raduno, festa, costruzione di comunità e scambi di pratiche interdisciplinari.
spazioSERRA è un progetto di arte pubblica guidato da un collettivo curatoriale, nato a Milano nel 2017 con l’intento di valorizzare il territorio milanese attraverso il lavoro di artist* emergenti. Il collettivo è formato da lavorator* che operano nel campo delle arti, della comunicazione e del management e nasce da un profondo legame con lo spazio da cui prende il nome. spazioSERRA è infatti uno spazio espositivo, collocato in una realtà metropolitana e suburbana che si distacca dai luoghi canonicamente dedicati e deputati all’arte: la stazione Lancetti del Passante ferroviario. spazioSERRA ospita ogni anno una stagione espositiva tematica, che coinvolge artist* italian* e internazionali in progetti site-specific. A questa attività principale si affiancano diverse collaborazioni con istituzioni e collettivi internazionali.

Sara Leghissa rearranges an extract from Kathy Acker’s essay Against Ordinary Language: The Language of the Body. While some words flow, others detach from the text, trying to suspend and stretch time. In this repetitive action the performing body encounters the text, in resonance with variable meanings and positionings.
Sara Leghissa (b. 1984, Milan) focuses her practice on public space, in line with a principle of ecology of resources which mostly relies on what is already available. She creates systems and devices that try to blend in and become as one with the setting, in order to convey images and content. The aim is to address and reach out to different audiences by using accessible, everyday technologies. She co-founded the art project Strasse and has shown her works in many festivals of performing arts, art galleries, and public spaces. For the Italian scene she co-organises Nobodys Indiscipline, NESSUNO, and Una Sauna, which are spaces for gathering, partying, community building and exchanging interdisciplinary practices.
spazioSERRA is a public art project led by a curatorial collective. It was founded in Milan in 2017 with the aim of adding value to the Milan area through the work of emerging artists. The collective consists of workers in the fields of the arts, communication and management and it has always had a deep bond with the space from which it takes its name. spazioSERRA is an exhibition space at the Lancetti station of the crossrail system, a metropolitan and suburban location that is a far removed from the places typically devoted and delegated to art. Each year, spazioSERRA presents a season of thematic exhibitions, involving both Italian and international artists in site-specific projects. This principal activity is accompanied by various partnerships with international institutions and collectives.
