    Your extra cutting looks like a Global Green pothos to me, I don't own that one but I've heard it's no more difficult than most other pothos species. Congrats on that White Princess, you got a really nice one!

    Not sure if someone already commented about the white princess, but the pink on the petiole is characteristic of all white princesses, and they "technically" all have the potential to throw in some pink on the leaves - but it's rare. Lucky you!! I'm guessing the chance of getting pink may also depend on the genetics of the specific plant (don't quote me on this). As for the "white princesses" with all green stems and petioles, those are white wizards - they don't do any pink at all (leaves or stem).
    White princesses also have a very interesting growth pattern, compared to pink princess/white knight/white wizard. They tend to grow kind bushy and send off new growth points quite prolifically. When I got mine it was a bushy fkr and I had to chop some extra stems off to keep it tidy, but at least I got a bunch of props from that. You may also find that new leaves come in pairs... it's almost like a new "main leaf" comes out, then shortly afterwards a gimpy little friend leaf grows from the base of the main leaf, and then a NEW new leaf will grow out of the main leaf. Seriously, it's nuts.
    Anyway, you've got a killer specimen there. So much potential for props and I'm super jelly of the pink on it - hope you get more!

      It's only happened to me once. They gave me a completely reverted plant when the pictures showed lots of variegation. It was a big and well established company too. I trust small sellers way more now since they post pictures of the individual plants while big companies only show an example picture.

    Your extra cutting that was included in your mail-order shipment looks like a Global Green Pothos - They are just now starting to become more prevalent and available here in Florida USA. My catfish moment was a Thai constellation I bought on ebay. To the seller's credit the photo was of the actual plant. It was a 3 leaf plant, obviously juvenile because there were no fenestrations, and from the hand holding it I estimated a roughly 9cm pot. Not huge but decent. I paid nearly $200 and when it arrived it was less than half the size of the veitchii you are holding in this video. The hand in the photo on the ad had to have been a child to make the pot look so big.
    Honestly though it has grown like a beast since it arrived and I'm stoaked with it, but I check listings for measurements now.

    LOL Perv on the roots. I do find that is helpful too. Especially with the newly potted cuttings.
    I was gifted a wee Melanocrysum baby abiut the size of your wee Vetchi maybe even smaller. I actually messaged the gal to see if it was a hitchhiker in the spag moss the cutting of another plnt I got from her came in. No it was a gift. So hppy on that . Like you I was afraid if I could keep it alive. I did pot it into a smal clear cup in soil with another clear cup slit so I could narrow it down to fin inside the rim of the soil cup and taped the two cups like a hinge to open for air and watering. Weeks later I put it in slightly larger pot inside a cover pot tht holds a clear jar upside down. I try to remember to open it once a day or so to give it some ir. Little guy is doing well. I hae about 4 new leaves and they are just starting to look like what the plant is supposed t look like. At first the leaves were about the size of my pinky finger nail. I live in high mountain desert so lower humidity but with all my plants I am hoping I can keep it in a bathroom or plant cluster on a pebble tray.
    Hahaha funny on the smoke detector guy. Usually when people walk in here they are not only faced with all my plants but also all my huge mosaics I have done on my walls furniture lamps mannequins. You name it I have stuck glass on it. I am usually hit with a stunned moment of silence. My house my rules.

    I cut my melano when i first bought it into four seperate leaves as well as the single leaf mother plant i left behind. I put all 4 leaves into sphagnum moss in a closed container and only one rooted up. I then put the 3 into water and out of those only one rooted. After trying moss, perlite, and water, 2 of them just wouldnt root so im assuming the nodes get spent really easily and unless you have auxillary buds already on the cutting sometimes the plant just won't make new ones or new roots.

      The biggest problem with them is the always revert back to green. The plant you did order looks like a verigated pothos why so expensive, I'm not having a go really!

      Hey mate, thanks for dropping by and glad you're enjoying the content. I get them from my local hardware store (Bunnings Warehouse) but you should be able to find them on Amazon in the US for pretty cheap.

      Hey Ariah, they're from artists on Artlist a music website where small artists can up load their music to sell to content creators. I think a lot of the tunes I used in this one are by a guy called Paper Planes.

    I mean plants do go into dormancy during winter so no growth is to be expected.

    • @petevsplants7516
      @petevsplants7516  2 роки тому

      Yeah, I get that if they're outdoors, but if they're inside under grow lights and at much higher temps, I'd expect growth to keep going

    Haha, it's funny, I had a similar experience. A man came over to my house to talk about installing a new security system. He in, glanced around and started talking. Now I'm getting suspicious and start giving him the side eye. I have close to 600 plants throughout my house. I start thinking, is there anything about this situation that seems normal to you? He definitely must have seen some sh*t during his travels!
