I am a retired PC am surprised you have not done a video on the handcuffing of auditors during a stop search. One needs a reason to handcuff an individual which is a use of force. You have to justify the handcuffing of an individual ie aggression a history of violence etc It seems to be the automatic the go to action for many officers.A claim for compensation can certainly be put in for many of these police actions

Absolutely! Unlawful detainment seems to be hugely overlooked. Even where on is detained and not arrested, cuffs have to be warranted. Roughly with the kind of guidelines you mention, use of force, risk to others/self or of escape etc warranting a use force and means of detainment. Just because the cuffs come off, doesn't mean they were lawfully put on. I agree, this happens all too often and we don't hear much about it.

Tbh, it's more Americanisms creeping into UK police these days. Loosely it's Officer Safety is basically what they are saying,. The police know it's a camera, not a gun which let's face it, are very rare in the UK. It's power and control, or EGO, which takes over with police. After watching thousands of these types of videos, is blatantly obvious the police nowadays are policing others feelings or their own. Nothing to do with law. What has gone wrong?

After all if they can make that claim it must be the same in all professions including Doctors, Nurses, Firemen and the police thus meaning anyone saying they are but are not in a Union is now impersonating a member of that profession and is now breaking the law....

EA are not fit for purpose. Not intended to be.They rarely investigate any offence, except the most serious. If, as a member of the public, you dare raise concerns on their failure to investigate they have a way of dealing with you. After daring to challenge Sir James Bevan via Twitter when EA failed to act, on the EA's failure to attend a serious issue of mountains of asbestos (&other contaminants) contaminated waste soil, yes mountains, which the Council had failed to stop the perpetrator from moving, never served a Stop Order, even when asked to, metres past residents homes with no protection, I received a phone call out of the blue from an EA Officer wanting to 'take me for a drive' in his car with his boss, to discuss my concerns. There was also an illegal waste transfer station being set up, initially denied by EA but admitted to by planning officer. This has put an entire community at risk. PHE were enlightened, as given wrong ingo by Council. Council lying to hide their failures. The asbestos contaminated waste soil was moved & spread across what was then Council owned designated Public Open Space land, psrtbof a Country Park. NEVER REMOVED OR REMEDIATED. Whole street full of witnesses to prove it & many documents indicating it. Now, despite our objections, & despite it also being an old unregistered Council landfill site, & also having historic contamination, they sold the land to developers, also made fully aware by me, who are building 91 homes on the site that was never remediated, on the still contaminated land. EA never addressed this either, nor HSE. All choosing to ignore the issue. But in 10 years none of them have been able to prove me wrong, no evidence provided that it was ever removed as they stated wrongly thatvit was. This has put residents, especially at risk of harm, but also an entire community & new homeowners who obviously aren't being told. Same developers have had very similar issues at another site of 250 Exec. homes that may have to be bulldozed. More likely will be covered up too. Twice they've tried to have me arrested, but it was a civil matter & they could not. So developers are harassing me too now. No PWA, they done what they said & done whatever they liked, denied my access to my own garden of 34 years, have blocked my property so I cannot maintain it. Their own Site Manager warned me they're a large company & can do what they like to whoever they like. No one cares... I fear for my safety & that of my family.

It would take a RADICAL change of law to make the companies liable and to pay the costs AFTER profits, not before, thus hurting the shareholders payouts, otherwise they will just make it a deductible to running costs and consider it a tax loss at no actual cost to them, only the taxpayers. The only way to really tackle this is to make it hurt the shareholders and board directors bonuses financially, and no govt so far - or labour will enforce this.

Companies are already liable for those things and if they are in the business of manufacturing have to work to standards set and audited by the International Standards Organisation, ISO .One of those standards is all the aspects of the environment . If they do not keep those standards they can be fined and lose business from other companies in the supply chain that do adhere to those standards . A company that I worked for as part of internal audits , that also had to be carried out , had to make appointments with recycling companies to be able to follow those company vehicles back to their depots to ensure items were being processed correctly . This company here might be quite small and as yet has not had any pressure put on it to meet environmental standards . In this case it is just a basic case of bad housekeeping and loss of control of materials , which are also audited by ISO . Your comment is not naive as the majority of reputable companies have been working that way for years already and absorbing the costs .

As a security officer myself of over 24 years, I love watching DJ audits, Auditing Britan and The laughing auditor, because it it highlights the failings in security companies and the SIA in some cases where officers lack the correct training in certain things, and I myself even learned a few things from watching these auditors, every day is a school day, however if you are a front line security officer you need to be made clear on the law when it comes to public photography, and that should always overule company policy. Now I have had to sit through a number of SIA courses over the years and they do try very hard to cover things like trespass being a civil matter and the rights you have as a security officer (Minimal force etc...) and it does teach you a lot about being vigilant, and being aware of hostile reconnaissance, but what it does lack, is legislation about drones, people filming from the public footpath into private property, and specifically how to deal with social media auditors. Most of the time I usually find that the security officers who lack most of the knowledge are foreign nationals where english isnt their first language, or elderly "in house" officers who are not required to hold an SIA licence and are still using the training they used 20-30 years ago.

That's not completely true. AFAIK, airspace is divided into the higher and lower stratum. Depending on the location, the lower stratum is usually 500-1000ft above ground level and can legally be controlled by the land owner beneath it; it's the upper stratum that is under CAA control. Drone operators are limited by law to a maximum altitude of 400 feet, so a land / property / building owner can legally insist that you do not shoot aerial footage of their land / property / building.

It's like living in North Korea. Authorities, citizens and jobsworth don't like cameras and drones, and that's because they capture reality, bad behaviour and law-breaking. We might have a freedom-based society with a legal framework, but against current standards of policing and recruiting we don't stand a chance. The law is quite clear on public photography as Daniel says. Unfortunately, police, security staff and interfering busybodies with no jurisdiction whatsoever, don't know the law or they flout the law and make things up.

Just to give you an idea, that is more like North Korea as your rights are being abused but you don't even see it. Please read below, its the part of article 10 that no one reads but is the most important when expressing a freedom (note the duties and responsibilities part, that means the person expressing that freedom is responsible for what they do, so why do auditors always refuse to take responsibility for their actions?)
The exercise of these freedoms, since it carries with it duties and responsibilities, may be subject to such formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society, in the interests of national security, territorial integrity or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals, for the protection of the reputation or rights of others, for preventing the disclosure of information received in confidence, or for maintaining the authority and impartiality of the judiciary.

He made all kinds of allegations. Lo and behold, the only bit of footage not on his site was the bit where they committed a crime. Turn out the citizens were annoying, but what they were doing was perfectly legal. You'll also notice him crying to the police if he 'feels upset' but uses seven levels of sarcasm against the police when he feels he's being dealt with unfairly. Give and take. Rough with the smooth. And remember, I'm responding to his actual words and not what I think that he might think that maybe he thinks - as most people here do.

I tend to agree, I am sure the vast majority of drone uses do it legally and for either personal videos or other reasonable reasons, however as with most things there is a rogue element that will go out to deliberately annoy people or violate there privacy. We had several instances in the village I lived in last year where a drone was being flown between houses (mostly bungalows) at a height that easily looked into windows and several pictures were taken of it hovering outside rear windows, it also did low passes over peoples heads, eventually it hit a rotary washing line (which shows what height it was at) and crashed. Pictures of it were posted in a mangled state, apparently the households dog used it as a toy, no one ever came forward to try and claim it back. To the best of my knowledge this sort of use is already illegal in the UK, (feel free to correct me or give details of existing laws) but I believe you are right that complaints will lead to tighter laws even through the laws are only like to be followed by and impact the responsible users and ignored by those who are currently breaking the laws anyway. The UK has a history of passing reactive "knee jerk" laws to implement controls after "incidents" that were already covered by existing laws so as to be seen to do something for political ends, they are rarely well thought out.
Some industries it could reasonable argued that the workers should have a reasonable right to privacy, police is an obvious one for all sorts of reasons, but also meat processing or other sometimes controversial industries where workers could face abuse or be at risk of targeted attack from extremists for working legally, even places of worship could be considered to have a reasonable expect for privacy, during funerals comes to mind.

It’s the paradox of freedom. If you don’t use the freedom you have because you are afraid of it being taken away then it’s pointless having it. If you use it then eventually it gets taken away from you anyway. Or, as Karl popper put it far more cleverly:
“Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.”

If this becomes enough of an issue then the law might change for these drones under 250 grams. This might include a flight exclusion zone up to 200ft above private property. Personally, if I was in a position of security, I would ask the operator to weigh the drone and not rely on some sticker! Nevertheless, I would claim the operator to be surveilling the premises, and also dispute any claims of it being in the "public interest" - the public might be interested, sue, but that doesn't make their activity "in the public interest". If they are genuine auditors or journalists, who are they reporting to? Their activity seems to be about the hostile interactions that result from their unethical and unprofessional behaviour in order to draw views to their videos on UA-cam. They are a nuisance - unfortunately the law can (currently) do nothing about them.

I think I only disagree when the audits interfere with a company/person in the company in order to try and get them fired or publicly shamed. There's one by a Scottish auditor where he asks a security guard in Morrisons where the blind spots are, whilst looking at the security screens. A confused exchange with the security guard ensues, who understandably assumes the guy is up to no good. The auditor then leaves the store and comes back in holding a cane and pretends that he was asking about changes to the store that affect blind people. He demands the manages come over to teach the security guard a lesson and potentially sack him. I can't see why current laws should protect those actions.

I can't be certain because you can't really see in there when the truck is backed up, but I'm sure it's the same load they left with! Sometimes they are just blatant and empty two different bins into this building where it's piled up like a mountain, all mixed. Maybe that's how it all gets processed? I have a question... Oddly specific one.
What about going out with the intention of provoking a negative response in order to record it IN ORDER TO MAKE MONEY FROM IT.
Now, the point I'm making is that a lot, not all, of these auditors will go out KNOWING that what they are doing is going to cause concern.
Many times auditors will record people coming and going from a site. One guy was deliberately standing at an entrance to a site and was putting the camera right up against car windows to see in. This can be considered alarming. So when they are approached they DELBERATELY act in a dismissive or whatever manner KNOWING that what they are doing will cause a negative response.
Their sole point is to act in a way that will cause the negativity, the response they want.
In this case mentioned it just happened that there WAS a genuine journalistic worthy issue... But more often than not these channels don't actually want that. They want the negativity.
So... My question is this... Do I have the right to stop someone making money from their recording my reasonable confrontation with the auditor?
The auditor who is acting in a manner that could well cause alarm.

I Think your videos are both informative & entertaining
You try your best to inform both bosses & employees of the law in the UK
BUT they just don’t want to know instead they go crying to the police
in the hope of getting you arrested I think what you do is fantastic
    Keep up the great work.

Its all about "views" (they make money every time someone watches their uploads).
In the case of DJ Audits his videos are of industrial estates (could you pick a more boring place) and seemingly the way they stack pallets or have no solar panels is meant to be interesting. Use of the drone is just to annoy factory owners/management.
This isn't about photography rights this is about making a few quid for these guys and provoking people in to getting a reaction for cheap entertainment.

All correct ! if DJ Audits he so concerned about safety and highlighting whatever / wrongdoing / behaviour why does he not go into areas of heavy migration and the issues surrounding all the problems already highlighted and keep an eye on that, that might assist the police inside of having take up police resources to respond to his moneymaking adventure at there expense. Regardless of the laws allowing this person to disrupt intimidate using this loophole in the law at his advantage to piss people off making money is not so much about making companies comply to ruling but the fact God knows way people love to see confrontation and to grandstand comments other feedback negative of police and attitude that he created in the first place.

It is good to see DJ Audits finally touch on something constructive as the plastic issue is important. Generally, I find audit channels to be wholly antagonistic. Just because the law allows the use of drones, common sense dictates that Police stations, prisons, and military facilities are going to be justifiably twitchy about being filmed by random strangers. The future restrictions are being written now by the actions of these people, at the cost of all drone owners.

Imagine if instead of people dumping things in water they just put them in bins. On a side note. They could put mealworms/superworms into a glass secure tank and let them break down the plastic into crass which is good fertiliser. Maybe that's one way of dealing with plastic. Another way would be reusing the same plastic bottle for handsoap, washing it out and using refillable pouches that are 80% less plastic. You can also use them for shower gel too, only need a few bottles then. Much less plastic waste. It's also more economical and cheaper as well. Anyone else have good plastic saving tips that are economical and easy to do? Or things you think certain types of products should adopt as a standard?

You don't have to watch them, and they are breaking no laws. Obviously you're someone that just does as they are told, and believe people who have no idea of the laws of the land! It's not the auditors who act like total jerks, it's the complete fools like the security guards who try to boss them about with absolutely no authority. The people that you likely just adhere to. Your attention-seeking post obviously done it's trick here by getting comments! Clown!

Free society is comedic😅It makes me laugh when people say oh these people are just idiots looking for views, well do you want anyone looking out for your rights or will you just happily give them up again like you did in 2020 and 2021? Most people are just weak minded fools, and will do whatever they are told whenever they are told no matter the consequence.

    Freedom to photograph and film
"Members of the public and the media do not need a permit to film or photograph in public places and police have no power to stop them filming or photographing incidents or police personnel."
Basically, the eyes cannot be trespassed. So, ANYTHING you can see from a public point of view can be recorded. If someone wants privacy viewed from a public area, it is up to them to create the privacy.
