This video was shot in June 1971 at Rocky Hill High School just prior to graduation.The video shows the members of the senior class and many of their cars.
This is awesome. I'm 55, about a decade younger than those in this video. I love old photos and videos of normal life from someone's past. Diggin' the choice of music. Thank you for sharing.
It's great to see such beautiful young people with the soundtrack of the Carpenters! They look like typical kids, from any time. But they've since learned something, that kids today don't know yet, that this age is ephemeral, it doesn't last. How wonderful you (someone) captured a few of those days from so long ago, that otherwise would have been lost in time. I bet it brings back memories as fresh as if it happened yesterday. That if you look at it long enough, you could reach out and touch it, and drive back to that parking lot, and see everyone as kids again, saying goodbye to high school, wondering what life will have in store for them.
Ten years younger than this, but I think I would have appreciated the 1966-1976 HS/College/YA experience far more than I did 1977-1987. I mean, 25¢ gas, if nothing else. I hope the kids enjoyed it all. Thanks. (Fun fact: "We've Only Just Begun" was originally written [by Paul Williams and Roger Nichols] for a Crocker Bank ad. But Richard Carpenter saw the potential.)

Wow. No cellphones. No internet. No cable TV even. But our lives were full and we experienced life like the kids of today can't conceive of.
