Not to upgrade to the latest firmware is very thrue .latest one keeps system fans on 50% . It is very noisy for a home lab environment. Previous was on 30% and it was quite acceptable.
Stop doesn't do a guest shutdown, its a instant poweroff. Just click shutdown to send the signal for the guest to start shutting down, if it supports it.
Hi, I think they said you need to passthrough network interface to pfsense VM to be safe. Otherwise proxmox become intermediate between internet and firewall that make it vulnerable to attacks from outside.
Oh dear. Morten, just put pfsense on a dedicated appliance and for just 10 watts of power your intrtnet connection will just always be on unless you're upgrading the firewall itself. 😀
@@MyPlayHouse I'm just saying a dedicated appliance is better. When you're connected remotely to your VPN and want to power down and/or reboot the physical hardware with your XClarity or IMM, you can't do that if the firewall is virtualized on the same box. Virtualized firewalls are fantastic when it's a customer owned firewall in a "cloud" or "virtual datacenter" configuration where the hardware is managed by someone else. If you manage bare metal, the firewall should be it's own device.
I have a new question about ibm x3650 m3 and I couldn't find the solution. The system is working, I have imm access, but when I connect a monitor, I cannot get an image. Do you have any ideas about this problem, thank you
-20 C - Winnipeg. Thank you Morten 🙏🏻.
When the datacenter is cold,, it is cold..
We had -30C during the weekend. Now around +2C. And looks like we go back to -17C on thursday Greetings from Finland
We're heading there and going a little lower tomorrow night. Greetings from Alberta, Canada. 😊
I had positive degrees here for the first time in over a week... but only down to those -13,8C
Good video as always Morten. Hope you feel better soon!
I am feeling a lot better now,,, Thank You.

The IMM does not pop up on the monitor connected to the server,, you can only use the net port for it.
@@MyPlayHouse Thanks

PRO's would take the eeprom out and write the data directly to it ... :)
Not Chuck Norris. He tells the server to update itself - otherwise the server gets a roundhouse kick.
