A friend of mine lives in Sydney Australia. He works for the head office of a local restaurant company which has locations all over Australia. He told me their CEO instructed their buyers to funnel out slowly American products. He said in a memo if America is willing to do this to Canada wait till he moves against the rest of the world. Id imagine many businesses throughout the world are moving away from U.S to clear out from the sting of American tariffs.
This sounds like BS. What Australian restaurant chain (he must be talking fast food) needs to buy anything from the USA. We are too far away to buy fruit/veg/meat etc from the USA. The CEO must be talking about plate/knives and forks etc. Hang on. All that come from China

Good day to all! It's the start of the week and out here in the boondocks of the Upper Midwest, my Uncle Merle and I must clean our backyard outhouse this morning. It's a foggy one this morning, but as the saying goes, "Americans can always be trusted to do the right thing, once all other possibilities have been exhausted.” Well, despite our differences as a nation, at the end of the day we can put them aside and give thanks that the Big Apple gave us the greatest president that the country has ever seen-Donald J. Trump! He represents the best of our national character-steadfastness, a strong work ethic, diplomatic knowledge based on a keen sense of awareness of how the real world functions outside of the American way of life, which is a good thing considering that the average American has no idea about any of those things, except for those very few who remember what that meant to the older generations who are no longer with us. Anyway, despite what his naysayers say, many people are looking forward to his 4 years in office; not so much due to issues of policy, whether foreign or domestic, but because of his style and personal value system. In fact, my ex-brother in law, Guido Sarducci, who happens to live in Northern New Jersey, Hudson County-to be exact, called me up last week to say how overjoyed the residents within the tri-state area are to have one of their very own home grown sons as president of the United States. They say that over the past several decades, Donald Trump has done so much to bring a sense of joy and purpose to the people of New York City and environs. Of course, I told Guido that none of what he told me was all that surprising, considering how the twin values of generosity and kindness reign supreme amongst the good people of that fine city. All in all, Guido and I had a very nice conversation, which is rare these days in the good ole United States. He went on to eventually tell me that his kids are doing well in school, and that his youngest son, Guido jr. is quite good at making political predictions and that the wunderkind prognosticated that after four glorious years of President Trump, the nation will be once again able to put aside its differences and finally elect its very first Tiktok celebrity for president of the United States! Happy belated Groundhog Day, y'all! Did Phil see his shadow?

The damage is done. Regardless if they reach an agreement, as a Canadian, I am already turning labels on all products to see where it's made. I am going to cancel American based subscriptions (Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV+). Canadians on Reddit are quite vocal asking questions down to the brand of coffee to buy. For a similar context, when MLB or NHL players went on strike leading to a lockout, when it was over, the fans didn't return for years to prior attendance figures. Ken Dryden said it best during the NHL lockout, "Biggest issue is that fans learn to live without Hockey". I will start to learn to live without US made services and products.
As an American by birth only, good. The only way fools here will listen is if you bully them back; then they fold. My humblest apologies for my country voting for Cheeto Jesus.
We don't care, as an American I encourage you to buy Canadian made things to help your businesses. I check the label and buy American made to help our businesses too. I just avoided some Canadian grown greenhouse tomatoes in Walmart and bought US grown. With Trump's tariffs, we are forcing everything sold in our stores to be grown or made in the US. Nothing against Canadians, but we don't want to buy your things or anyone else's things. We want to buy only US made things like the old days. No China, Mexico, Canada etc.
Canadian consumers are boycotting all American products. This is not organized by the government, it's spontaneous. Even if the Canadian government were not to retaliate with tariffs, the US will see their exports to Canada collapse quite suddenly.
I'm embarrassed to be a US citizen. The only time I've felt more embarrassed than this was during the Vietnam War. That was worse, because people were dying. No one dies in a trade war, but lives will be hurt or ruined nonetheless. It's completely pointless and capricious. The US has taken on the character of its president: a schoolyard bully who at some point needs to be confronted and put in its place. Not a country to be proud of, just the opposite.
Ehh, the vast majority of Americans aren't concerned about the opinions of Canadians. As long as some trade deal is formed at the end of this, most Americans won't even bother remembering this trade war 🤷♂️
Even the Wall Street Journal, generally conservative but not reactionary, called it "The Dumbest Trade War in History". Also, I never ever voted for The Conald. Hell, I largely stopped voting Republican by 2012 (thanks to the Tea Bagge..uh Tea PARTY) Last Republican I voted for President was Bob Dole, back in 1996.
The damage to Canada-US relations will be extreme and long term. Canadians are learning to HATE America (or at least MAGAmerica) and that bitterness will last at least a generation. The damage to US prestige and trustworthiness throughout the world will also last a generation.

Sadly I - and I dare say most Canadians - have for now, lost that feeling of kinship towards our American neighbours. Trump has unleashed economic war on Canada for reasons nobody, including Trump, can reasonably explain. While the US won't win this war, its obvious Canada will suffer an order of magnitude more. We understand that the it could prove devastating. There will be a strong feeling in the Country that we can't let ourselves be this vulnerable again, and this will most certainly lead to developing other trading and possibly strategic relationships that will further split the 'family' and won't serve American interests in the long term. The US has lost the respect of the world. Threatening Denmark, Panama, Canada Mexico and the EU and lord knows who is next.
Sorry about that. Personally I voted for Harris. There are a lot of Americans that are appalled with both tariffs and Trump's insulting memo that called Canada a "narco state". I feel badly about all of this and we will work hard to neuter Trump in the next election cycle.

As a Canadian I find it very frustrating that is MAGA disciples believe every word that he spouts when it is all lies. Him saying Canadians are subsidized when it is deficit mostly crude oil at a cheaper global rate and then blaming these tariffs on fentanyl and immigration which always was a total crock. Perhaps a silver lining is Canadians determination now to disinvest ourselves from the US so that eventually we will never be so vulnerable.

Same. Everyone talks like Trump is stupid, but he certainly isn't, so he has a plan, and he definitely has an end goal. Is it to weaken our oil industry so he can buy it on the cheap? @@WilkinsMichael oil isn't just oil, there are different 'flavors' of it, and you need to build your refinery to process that flavor. By far the majority of oil that the rest of the world refines comes from the Middle East and Russia, and their refineries are built to refine that oil. Albertan crude wouldn't do them any good unless they completely retool their refineries to process it, and they aren't going to do that unless they can be very sure they will recoup that investment, which means there would have to be very long term, high volume contracts signed. But we can't send them oil in high volume because we don't have the pipeline capacity to get it to port, so it would also take a long time for us to build those pipelines, which again, we aren't going to do unless we can be sure we'll recoup the cost on that investment. But suppose we did decide to build those pipelines; well if the rest of the world has their head on straight, they aren't going to retool their refineries until our pipelines are actually done, because we have started, delayed, cancelled, restarted, refinanced, renegotiated, had our pipelines shot down in court, appealed the decision, restarted again, and on and on for decades. Theoretically, we could build a pipeline in a few years. In practice, this has become an agonizing process of decades with wild cost overruns. So just because we tell Japan or South Korea or the EU that we'll have our pipeline done in 5 years so they should get their refineries ready now, doesn't mean they should believe us. They'll retool their refineries when our pipelines are actually done, which means it will be years after before we actually start turning a profit on all these massive investments. By the time all that's happened, even in the best case scenario, Trump will be senile or dead of old age. But maybe Trumpism will live on, so we'll be glad we did it anyway. So we'll load up some super-massives with our oil and ship it to Asia and Europe and start raking in the big bucks, right? Sure, maybe. Or maybe Trumpism will have progressed to its logical end state, and the US Navy will start charging us protection money for our shipping. Would be a real shame if some pirates were to seize your oil tankers. You might be glad to have the USN on your side then, right? Well if you don't want anything bad to happen, it would sure be smart to buy our handy-dandy insurance plan, to the tune of, let's see, oh, ALL of your profits? Well I guess you better raise prices then. Or hey, if that seems inconvenient, just become the 51st State. Our insurance price is covered for American companies.
@@WilkinsMichael It's hard to sell elsewhere. Trudeau blocked the Northern Gateway pipeline by banning tankers on the Northern BC coast. Quebec played a large part in shutting down the Energy East pipeline. With friends like Canada, Alberta doesn't need enemies. By blocking so many pipelines, our fellow Canadians have locked us into a single export market (the USA), and now it's really hard to diversify our customer base because of that.

The most important product from Canada is POTASH. Canada (due to the russian war) is now the leading producer of this very limited resource. The farmers are getting what they wanted.
But the USA still needs Canadian oil for it's domestic use. The USA sells a lot of it's oil to other countries. I agree about the potash. Thx for mentioning it. Someone said we should be making more aluminum too.
When the price of potash goes up, the price of food goes up. Not sure the Americans want to do that while they have 42% of agricultural workers too afraid to show up to work.
Exactly. Canada supplies the US with 87pc of its Potash for fertiliser. No Potash, no fertiliser; no fertiliser, no crops; no crops, increased food prices.......!🇬🇧
The US has 5 potash mines and has been begging for tariffs on Canada, because you have been dumping cheap potash and taking their sales. NAFTA gave you tariff free access to do this, but those days are over. You won't be selling one ounce of potash in the US soon. We have one Potash mine near Carlsbad NM that is over 200 square miles. The generosity and humanity of Canadians was demonstrated when after the 9/11 attacks the people of Gander Newfoundland took in American strangers and treated them like family. Now we see Canadians booing the Americans national anthem at hockey games. The trust and respect has been extinguished. One thing for sure tho, if Canadians were put in a position where Americans needed help like in Gander… they would do it again without a thought. Maybe that’s the biggest difference. Trump’s supporters attacked the capital to support his lies. I see little by non MAGA as Trump attacks Canada and Mexico.
As a Canadian immigrant from Europe at a young age I very much appreciate the opportunities that I have had in Canada and my dealing in the US. Now owning a seasonal place in the US has enabled me to also appreciate the kindness of the American people I have met from right across the US. Yet, I am starting to question some of that sincerity in showing their kindness to myself and all my Canadian friends regardless of origins that have also experienced instant likability. I have recently watched on Fox News, Newsmax, and other republicans blindly support Trump and basically anything that comes out of his mouth on any issue regardless of whether the facts are substantiated by his declarations. Especially from seasoned reporters of the news, TV personalities, commentators, and politicians. I am totally dumbfounded by the vitriol spouted by them in support of what Trump claims that Canada is doing is injurious to the US and to Americans. Simple things that are so easily fact checked from the statistics that are from America in origin. Some TV personality on FOX and others to a lesser extent, said that fentanyl coming in from Canada is killing up to 9 million Americans. That illegals are coming through the Canadian borders in droves. The actual figures published by the US is 42 pounds of fentanyl and less than 1% of illegal immigrants. ?!?! Why purposely lie about this? Trump on one day he says that the US is subsidizing Canada to the tune of 100 billion dollars, another time, 150, another 200, and 250 billion dollars. It’s never ending. Everything he says about oil imports is made up. The US imports a special crude oil from Alberta that is heavily discounted by Canada since they can’t sell it anywhere else due pipelines go only to the US. How can selling a product at a discount be a US subsidy of Canada? It’s the other way around. Remove oil from the trade figures and it’s Canada that is in a deficit to the US. So with his logic spouted by huge media US companies, Canada is subsidizing the US? At a recent hockey game the US anthem was booed. Imagine Canadians booing the US anthem because they know that Trump and 51 % of Americans voted for a felon, convicted fraudster, cheated on his wife right after giving birth, stole from his own charity, and attempted a coup of your own government. All undisputed actions. Trump is getting You, friendly generous people that is the richest country, has the lowest inflation, lowest unemployment, strongest military, number one in so many areas because of how the past US government administrations going back 100 years, has managed the the wealth of the most important asset the US , its people who were mostly immigrants and among them a great number of “illegal immigrants” which have a lower % of criminals than natively born Americans based on your own statistics. Trump is getting 40 million Canadians, 130 million Mexicans. 440 million Europeans, countless Central Americans and hundreds of millions of South Americans to get them literally to hate Trump and by extension Americans. America became the richest and strongest nation since WWII because of their people and the cooperation of billions of people and hundreds of nations that supported the US and not the USSR, not Putins Russia and China. The unjustified term “Ugly American” popular in the 1970’s, is now referring to Trump. Do not let that stain of hate encompass the American people. Only the American people can ensure that the United States does not become reviled as the USSR and other powerful past nations that crumbled at their peak because of their arrogance in using their power to economically subjugate other peace loving nations that can transform their nations to a dark side when so callously threatened by one individual who subjugates his own people to engrandize himself above all.

That was 20yrs ago, and I know our group was not the only one who stopped. $20k American dollars spent every year x 20 yrs just from our group, gone and will never return because of your bullies at the border.
This absurd event reenforces Canadian unity and its cultural difference from the United States. Canadians will also durably look to more trustable and reliable partners. As will the rest of the world, who is watching this with equal disbelief.
Perfectly said. Most don't see trump's end game, which he has stated publicly more than once. The annexation of Canada and the creation of a 51st state. There is a lot more at stake than just the economy. Canadians must unite.
Dig deeper. Canadas federal Gov. has imposed 25 percent across the board on all U.S. goods. Included in Canadas response is a revoking of Gov. procurements from USA companies. Starlink was to provide services to northern isolated communities. The Canadian Gov. is now going with a Canadian Company even though it will cost more. Provincial Governments have done the same in regards to procurements. Also have taking Provincial actions, such as for example. The provinces of Ontario the worlds largest single importer of USA alcohol has ordered all American brands from liquor store shelves. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec have done the same with British Columbia only targeting American red states. Combine that with Canadian citizens being so pissed that there is now a consumer boycott fever for all made in USA products, food and all other products. Canadians are proud and free. WE WILL NEVER BOW A KNEE TO A DICTATOR. America he is your problem. Damn your dumb. It is a fait accompli, Trump has sized all levers of power. Military, A.G., FBI, Treasury, Pres, congress, senate and Supreme Court. America you now have a dictatorship. There will be lawsuits that will go no where. You will find troops on the streets soon. Only the good Generals can save you now. I do not expect to see any fair elections anymore. When all the guard rails have fallen and the oligarchy have consolidated all power. There is nothing left except the people and pitchforks.
The Canadian government announced tarrifs on $30 billion worth of US imports. More are coming in 3 weeks. Canada has NOT imposed a blanket 25% on all US imports. Get your facts straight.
He thinks it's other countries paying for all of the reinvestment in the U.S., but all he is doing is making the vulnerable in his own country more precarious and pay with higher prices.

I have been in the power industry for almost 30 years not many people have mentioned electricity that Canada provides, we have lots of dams and lots of water that we provide/sell to the Transmission power grid which is tied to the USA so the US can keep up with their power demands. Canada could strap a tariff on that which would be really bad for the USA and Canada both, I hope this doesn’t keep escalating like this for everyone’s sake! Keep your eyes fixed on the only true king and that’s Jesus Christ. Peace!
The rising rates can be attributed to increasing imports and decreasing exports, largely due to the Trump-era tariffs, which triggered retaliatory measures. The Federal Reserve also plays a role in the banking crisis, given its policies of quantitative tightening and higher interest rates. If these conditions persist, something will eventually give. With this in mind, is it really a good time to have savings invested in stocks?

I don't know what Trump is doing and why. We would have to ask his Heritage Foundation owners what their plan is. I believe it is the Heritage Foundation's desire to leave NATO and join BRICS. They probably see the $800 billion we spend on the Military each year and have designs on that.
I doubt that Americans understand how hurtful this is to us nor how angry we are. There is NFW we would ever join the US. America has lost a huge amount of trust and respect around the world as a result of this stupid, destructive, impulsive move.

Thank you, Ian, for this analysis. Do not underestimate the long term negative impact on Canadians' relationship with the USA. Americans need to look at the Orange Felon and his talk and actions and understand his value set, and consequently this is their value set. We do not share these values. Not even close.
The market hates uncertainty. A proper bear market would change everything. The damage to the US as a reliable trading partner is huge, not likely to ever fully be repaired.
Almost every Canadian I know is so pissed off now that they will fight this tooth and nail. ...and honestly, if given a choice between doing business with China or doing business with the U.S. I think a lot of Canadians would now be thinking about which option is better.
After the ratification of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) in 2020, Donald Trump gave several speeches emphasizing how the new trade deal was a major victory for the U.S. and American workers. In these speeches, Trump often highlighted the following points: Better Terms for U.S. Workers: Trump touted that the USMCA would bring better wages, more jobs, and stronger labor protections for American workers compared to the previous NAFTA deal. He claimed it would especially benefit sectors like automotive manufacturing and agriculture. Fair Trade Over Free Trade: Trump frequently contrasted "fair trade" with "free trade," arguing that the USMCA was a better deal because it was more tailored to the interests of the U.S. economy and protected American industries from unfair practices, such as subsidized foreign competition. A Victory for American Farmers: Trump emphasized that the USMCA provided more access to Canadian and Mexican markets for U.S. farmers, particularly for dairy, poultry, and wine exports. A "Historic" Achievement: In his speeches, Trump often described the deal as "historic," saying it would reshape trade relations in North America for the better. He framed it as a key part of his "America First" agenda. One of his notable speeches on this subject took place after the deal was signed and later ratified by Congress. Trump was adamant about how the deal would bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. and shift power back to American workers, farmers, and businesses.
Ya'll are missing the real end game. That's all a smoke screen, border/ trade deficit, trump has even said publicly more than once what this is really about. The annexation of Canada and the creation of a 51st state. That will never happen and this is not going to end well.

If oil is indeed the Surplus maybe we should start selling it to the US at the proper dollar value. Then we purchase the product back refined into gasoline and diesel at proper market rates.
Demand for fentanyl drives the trade. That demand is coming from Americans. And it is likely that American citizens are involved with trafficking fentanyl. Talk about THAT.
The fentanyl bullshit is just that, bullshit. This is about the annexation of Canada and the creation of a 51st state, trump has said this publicly. That will never happen and this will not end well for the US.
Well, here is what is going to happen in Canada. 4 Infrastructure projects I can think of. Canada will create a "Canada Only" Free Trade agreement going East-West instantly replacing 20% of the economic loss to the States from this Tariff War. 2nd, Canada will finish the east-west pipeline for temporary oil and gas transportation bypassing the US Mid-West. It will then turn to Germany for money to quickly build out east coast LNG plants. The Germans and rest of the EU will jump at the chance to get out from under Trump and Putin when it comes to safe and secure winter home heating resources. 3rd, Ottawa will subsidize Alberta to take their upgrader plants and fully convert them to finished refineries on the promise that the Feds will build a deep water oil export facility in Hudson's Bay to ship oil and gas products to Eastern Canada through the NWP without having to go by land through Eastern Canadian population centres. While also staking its claim to the NWP as a non-international internal waterway to Canada, now patrolled by Canada's 6 new Navy Icebreakers. Fifth, Military Procurement: Canada will look to Europe and itself for military procurement. There will be no more 88 plane F35 contract, No 16 P8 Posiedon contract, No 12 E7 WedgeTail Contract, No 15 Destroyer Agesis 7 contract. No NORAD Beyond the Horizon Radar Site install and you can basically take the 2% NATO commitment and shove it up Trump's ass
I read that most of the fentanyl seized at the southwest border was from American citizens coming through legal ports of entry. I doubt very much that these tariffs will help decrease the flow of fentanyl into this country because there’s a huge demand. Americans want it yet we’re not attacking that side of the problem at all. His reasons for these tariffs sounds weak to me.
A friend of mine lives in Sydney Australia. He works for the head office of a local restaurant company which has locations all over Australia. He told me their CEO instructed their buyers to funnel out slowly American products. He said in a memo if America is willing to do this to Canada wait till he moves against the rest of the world.

It's a foggy one this morning, but as the saying goes, "Americans can always be trusted to do the right thing, once all other possibilities have been exhausted.”
Well, despite our differences as a nation, at the end of the day we can put them aside and give thanks that the Big Apple gave us the greatest president that the country has ever seen-Donald J.

I spent my career traveling the world, proud to tout Canada's relationship with the US. We were cousins. We had each other's back and also respected the uniqueness and value of the other. It is a sad day for North America.

Believe what he says he wants Canada to be the 51st state. Why do we have to relearn this lesson???????
Canada should put it 15% export tax on oil going to the US. This added to the 10% Trump tariff on oil would bring it near 25% and prevent Trump's ability to reduce the inflation effects on the US economy.
The US has no alternative sources since their refineries are designed for Cdn oil.
Surely playing a game of chicken with a country that has the most extensive set of tools in the world for destroying a country's economy can only go well 🙄
It’s oil. Just sell it elsewhere.

During the first Trump administration 60,000 migrants (accounting for not than 90% of asylum seekers to Canada) crossed the Canada-US border at one place in NYState alone, and US Border enforcement did nothing to stem that flow. It's a little hypocritical don't you think.
US is deaf and blind to that ,New York bussing them to our border. Us suggested camps near Canada.
EXACLTY. We also get guns and drugs smuggled in from the U.S. too!
Exactly. The US is 100% in control of its own border. Why blame Canada for American incompetence?
I don't know what Trump is doing and why. We would have to ask his Heritage Foundation owners what their plan is. I believe it is the Heritage Foundation's desire to leave NATO and join BRICS. They probably see the $800 billion we spend on the Military each year and have designs on that.
BRICS exists as a rival to the American system. These moves are suicidal.
Thank you for this article. It is so disheartening to be kicked in the teeth by your neighbour.
I doubt that Americans understand how hurtful this is to us nor how angry we are. There is NFW we would ever join the US. America has lost a huge amount of trust and respect around the world as a result of this stupid, destructive, impulsive move.
Trump has to create an imaginary problem, so he can act “Strong “ and credit himself with solving it!!
I’m so embarrassed to be an American, but am booking my summer trips to visit Canada and spending my money there to help Canada!
Canada 🇨🇦 Welcomes You. MAGAS can't find Canada on a map so they won't come.
Very kind. thank-you
Thank you. I hope you have an amazing trip here!!
A couple of dollars ain't gonna help!😂
Can Trump actually believe that bullying and abuse would make us want to join him.
He thinks like a rapist.... well he is actually a convicted rapist!
Allies? What allies?
Thank you, Ian, for this analysis. Do not underestimate the long term negative impact on Canadians' relationship with the USA. Americans need to look at the Orange Felon and his talk and actions and understand his value set, and consequently this is their value set. We do not share these values. Not even close.
The market hates uncertainty. A proper bear market would change everything.
The damage to the US as a reliable trading partner is huge, not likely to ever fully be repaired.
As a U.S. citizen, I see this as a hallmark of Trump’s policies-self-inflicted wounds, much like in his first term. An absolutely unnecessary move.
On ice?
It's down the freaking toilet.
🇨🇦
Almost every Canadian I know is so pissed off now that they will fight this tooth and nail. ...and honestly, if given a choice between doing business with China or doing business with the U.S. I think a lot of Canadians would now be thinking about which option is better.
Please do not blame me my Canadian friends I voted for Harris
After the ratification of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) in 2020, Donald Trump gave several speeches emphasizing how the new trade deal was a major victory for the U.S. and American workers.
In these speeches, Trump often highlighted the following points:
Better Terms for U.S.
Mexico and China I get but tariffing Canada makes no sense
@@corruptsociety9146 all for that few milk making states
The US will pay tariffs from all 3 countries, plus the EU.
Canada makes sense. They provide nothing to US
Exactly. Canada can't understand this.
Ya'll are missing the real end game. That's all a smoke screen, border/ trade deficit, trump has even said publicly more than once what this is really about. The annexation of Canada and the creation of a 51st state. That will never happen and this is not going to end well.
I AM CRYING, because I love CANADIANS, and I am SO SICK of every President in the USA, Screwing Up the American People and Our IMAGE and R3eputation ALL around the World.
Grab a hold of yourself man...
This is American Exceptionalism in action.
If oil is indeed the Surplus maybe we should start selling it to the US at the proper dollar value. Then we purchase the product back refined into gasoline and diesel at proper market rates.
What is his real endgame here? Just respect my authority bs?
I think Trump wants Canada as the 51st state (or 52nd if he gets Greenland first). This is about acquiring real estate.
Annexation.
Stop the drugs & illegal immigrants including 380 known terrorists. Trudeau is wilful negligent
If that is his goal it’s insane, if that isn’t his goal it’s even more insane.
Stop the drugs & terrorist flooding over the border. Pretty simple
This is an absolute (and non-sensical) stab in the back of a longtime ally. We just cancelled our family's spring break trip to California.
Same. We’re traveling to the maritimes instead now. :)
I'm so annoyed I decided to start drinking again.😎
@@kashd4668Canadian wine?
Canadians booed the US anthem at a Raptors game today, which is pretty iffy cuz almost all the players are American.
Hope all level of Canadian government will work together to build Canada self reliances.
