Bad take. They lost to the Super Bowl champs last season by a missed field goal and then they didn’t lose anyone super important in free agency. Diggs wasn’t doing anything down the stretch, Davis never did anything to begin with, Hyde and Poyer are old and were mediocre last year, Tre White hasn’t played a full season in 3 years and will likely miss all of next season, the rest of the losses are replaceable. They also got a huge upgrade at offensive coordinator so that will probably improve their offense.

The Texans should be down a tier simply because we haven’t seen them beat a legit AFC team yet. Beating the Browns who had a quarter of their salary cap on IR doesn’t mean much and then they proceeded to get blown out by a legit AFC team in the Ravens. Nothing against the Texans. It wasn't because of Goff the Lions lost the NFC championship. It was dropped passes and passing defense that cost them that game and what I think would have been the super bowl. Both teams blew their chance at winning it all last year while in a weak AFC (a lot of starting QBs went down during the season) and are having a soft reset with their rosters. I’d say both their QBs have to be top 5 throughout in order to win it all. They should be in the tier below.

The Browns and Jets are at the bottom of his list which means that he believes in them the least out of all the teams. Both teams have excellent rosters so they don’t require great QB play in order to win it all. As long as their QBs play above average they have a shot. Tbh I believe in the AFC the true contenders are 1) Chiefs 2) Ravens 3) Bengals 4) Bills. To me even the Bills have taken a step backwards with firepower unless their rookie hits and their free agency moves work out. Lots of ifs even with them but they are more of a proven commodity. I know everyone is on the Texans hype train but I would hit the brakes a little bit. No way are the Jets and Browns Superbowl contenders. There's way too much that can and probably will go wrong for those teams. I'm a Dolphins fan but even I can realistically say we have to show up in the playoffs before I can call them contenders.....but if the Browns and Jets are here then basically any playoff team of last year is a contender.
The Browns and Jets are at the bottom of his list which means that he believes in them the least out of all the teams. Both teams have excellent rosters so they don’t require great QB play in order to win it all. As long as their QBs play above average they have a shot. Your Dolphins should be on this list too imo but maybe he didn’t include them because they got blown out by the Chiefs.

@@cantfoolatul Yes I understand the basis of his thoughts from his analysis which I don't really disagree with too much but the premise being Superbowl contenders I guess I would just have a more narrow list. Tbh I believe in the AFC the true contenders are
1) Chiefs
2) Ravens
3) Bengals
4) Bills.
To me even the Bills have taken a step backwards with firepower unless their rookie hits and their free agency moves work out. Lots of ifs even with them but they are more of a proven commodity.
I know everyone is on the Texans hype train but I would hit the brakes a little bit. I think a slump is in order and they will regress a tad but will still make it to the playoffs just not as this standout team. All the rest really are just playoff potentials.
I mean anyone could win it all if everything gels and they get hot, injuries to other teams etc. But that's like serious dark horse odds if we're being realistic.
Anyhoo good content Mr. BLV. I always like debates and it's healthy discourse to disagree that's what makes all this interesting in terms of team building.

They’re a good team but they won’t surprise people this year. Might have that hangover effect too. They lost the NFCCG in a heartbreaking manner. We’ll see.
