I think the chicken basket may be for eggs (I know thats what antique/vintage baskets like this were used for - gathering eggs). Of course, eggs can only go a couple hours without refrigeration so you'd have to be eating a LOT of eggs lol. It would be nice for keeping cute tea towels in or fruit like you mentioned!
Oh tea towels is such a good idea! And I have so many of those that are just in a cupboard, so I might do that! I did think about eggs, but yeah it would have to be more in fridge and the basket is actually pretty big so I feel like it would take up too much room.

I have too many mushroom mugs. I’ll admit that. However, I will always snag one of it’s in front of me; therefore, I don’t go to TJ Maxx 😂
