    if the tool asks you which domain to search why change your own IP?
    and if you don't know what domain missing devices are on what would you change your own IP to and/or what would you tell the software to look at?

    Hello.
    You seem to know more about the workings of this software than pretty much anyone. Appreciate it.
    Would you happen to know if there is a superb viewer and controller that could be used with my Dahua ip ptz camera?
    My opinion is that the camera is great but the viewer and controller leave much to be desired.
    I would love an interface with drag and drop to move video windows around, keyboard assignments, right click menu, drop down menus for all items, ptz mouse control with variable sensitivity according to mouse movement...so many improvements could be made to the desktop interface.
    Thanks

    Thanks for your great videos, pls can you advise. I have connected my 8 x POE switch to my NVR and then connected my router to my POE switch. ( POE switch only has 8 POE connections ) Is this correct to connect your POE switch to the router & the switch to the NVR. Thanks

      its fine. If the port does not need to supply power - like for your router, it wont.

    Sir The 10.1.0 network from the internal switch of the NVR. In network icon there is one switch option there we can enter the ip address after the camera will get that ip from the internal switch

    We have a Dahua NVR and 16 cameras. One of the cameras stopped working. We purchased another IPC-HDW4631EM-ASE camera. When I plug it into NVR port it says "account has been locked". IP camera is given IP address 10.1.1.80. NVR is connected to a router. The Router’s IP address is 192.168.1.1. I tried to reset the camera using Config tool. But nothing is listed. Do I connect my PC to the NVR's Camera port or to router? Can I reset the camera from the config tool? No one is picking up when I call the support number. I would appreciate if you can help me setting the camera up. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Firstly, thank you for taking the time to make these extremely helpful videos. I hope that you can help me. I have purchased a Dahua NVR (8 POE channel 4208). I have also purchased Dahua cameras for the system (6mp eye ball). In your videos you talk about the need to change the IP address of the camera. Do I need to do this if the camera is linked to one of the POE ports on the NVR? It is working at the moment even though it has an entirely different IP address to my network. Please help!

      thank you.
      No, only if you going to connect to a standalone NVR then you will need to locate the cameras and change the IP address. in your case you connect directly to NVR so they will come up with correct IP address given from the NVR

    what I'm seeing from this video is your NVR cameras ip address start with (10.1.0)
    and the Switch cameras IP address start with (10.0.0).
    So if where concern with seeing a camera on a NVR the "Camera IP address needs to be set to what the NVR is showing for the Port" the camera is plug into in order to view that camera on the NVR.

    1.Why are you working on 10.x.x.x subnet and not 192.x.x.x?
    2.if i change the subnet of the nvr and the camers to the same subnets, the nvr sees them...but then i need to change the router subnet as well..

    Nice video. Personally I have a good few IP's in my computer setup and this makes it much easier for me to find cameras of different ranges. So for me because I use a good few different NVR/and DVR and different Routers I have different IP's. I do clean my cameras and most times this is done at my desk after taking my cameras down. When I plug my camera into my Switch I can access it right away just using it's IP address from my computer and never have to change my Network IP from my normal range.. So for me my normal IP range is 10.0.0.xxx and most of my NVR's are changed from 10.1.1.xxx to now 10.1.22.xxx and 10.1.23.xxx and so on. So I have so far them 4 in my IP setup. I also have 192.168.1.xxx and 192.168.0.xxx in my IP setup as well. Then also have 10.23.1.xxx and so you get my Point. This way when I connect any of them IP camera to my Network switch I don't have to worry about what IP range it is on, If it was setup for DHCP or will it roll out with Static of something I can't find.. The Hardest is Hikvision products because you need to use their tool to turn on the cameras to start with. Or it can be connected to Hik POE NVR where it can be turned on using the NVR..

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  3 роки тому

      thanks for watching. Well if you had connectivity with your camera before cleaning on your desk, it will remember that IP address. The issue is when the camera was set statically and then moved to another network and connected via a switch, then i cannot locate it without the IPConfic software. I dont know if you also noticed, but older Dahua NVRs were a nuisance to configure when you have a set of cameras that are from other installation and all have other IP addresses already set. Now i find the NVRs are better.

    Hi , pls can you tell me , my Router and devices are on the 192.168.0 1 range. I change the Ip camera to to that range to my network, but my NVR changes back to the 10.1.0.1 range ? Is this a sub range, wonder if there is a difference to home network range. Pls help thanks

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  3 роки тому +1

      it means your NVR is not saving the change. You can change your NVR IP address and then it should work.

    All new Dahua's will default to an IP of 192.168.1.108 - then just log into the web interface, you'll be asked to choose a password - done this for all my POE camera and works on a Mac too. This assumes you are using this subnet.

      @@davidveselinov4001 I know this is old post but for anyone that might find your post and have same issue. Please don't be alarmed. The Locked is because the camera has been accessed with wrong Password. Most times when you setup to NVR it would be setup with admin for password and user, when you make that change in your lan lets say to something you want to use, just use the NVR's Camera and config area, Look at the ones with Orange icon if not green it is not connecting, Click the Pencil and change the password to work for your needs. Please note that when you connect your camera to a POE port on the NVR that Switch will change your cameras IP address even if you have setup for Static of your normal range. 90% of the NVR's I have used will have Switch set to 10.1.1.1 and hand out 10.1.1.65 and up for the cameras. You want it that way for them to work. Even if your locked out of the camera because of bad password, Just reboot the camera (remove camera from NVR port count to 10 plug back in) with good password now it will no longer show that it is locked out. IF it is locked out again you will need to make sure that your adding in the right password. It will try so many times to log in for your NVR before the cameras locked it out.. Also Note this can happen if you have Setup on your camera IP Filtering. IF you have then you need to make sure 10.1.1.1 is in the Filter list as a trusted IP.. . Also please note that your NVR if like the one in the video is a 4116E and has only 8 ports for POE any camera you connect outside that POE port will be used on the same range as the normal IP for your NVR David shows 192.168.1.1 for his local range so that means he would want any camera not connected to his POE port on the NVR to have that range all cameras on the POE Port of the NVR will need the 10.1.1.65 on range as setup for in the NVR.. If you want to change this range you can by changing it in the NVR, Network and Switch. Just keep in mind you can't use the same range for the front and back IP.. So maybe you want 10.1.2.1 for the switch and it would hand 10.1.2.65 on out from then on. Also any that don't auto change because maybe they are not Dahua or OEM Dahua you might need to setup for right IP in the cameras WebUI before making that connection to the NVR POE...
