    The Davies bring new meaning to the phrase “one big, happy family.” With seven kids, Jim and Becky Davies’ family is bigger than they had dreamed it could be. And it is clear that the group is happy. Most importantly, though, their love makes them one with each other in a way that tops any other factors-including DNA.
    Jim and Becky struggled with infertility. Miraculously, their two eldest kids, Rachel and Jake, were born to them biologically. The blessings didn’t stop there. With the help of a private adoption agency and family, the Davies were blessed to welcome Jess, Kristin, Trevor, and Josh into their home and hearts over the course of several years. They were happily surprised when Becky then became pregnant with their youngest, Natalie.
    The Davies don’t mind if others wonder how or why their family structure works. They are simply happy to be together.
    “This is my family. I know that they will love me for who I am, and as well have the expectation that I’ll love them for who they are,” says Josh.
    Jess feels the same way.
    “It’s such an interesting group of people to have as a family,” she says, “but there’s just no question of us being meant to be together.”

    Nothing more important on this earth than families. Together we can all make it back to live with our Heavenly Father and there be together forever as families.

    Obviously not all families are like this- but that is not the point of the video. Growing up in the LDS religion, my family was no where near the "happy" family but as siblings we learned to grow with each other and be each other's strength. After my parents divorce, depression, their second marriages, and many many trials (we all have them)- we are still a family. Family doesn't have to be blood-relative. It's just a matter of those whom you love who loves you. Including our Heavenly Father and our brother, and Savior, Jesus Christ. :) What a wonderful life this family has had (with trials, too, of course). We are all blessed in our own ways and with our own circumstances. It is up to us to recognize our blessings.

    Thank you Mormon Channel for this video! There are so many great families out there in this world. I have a small family, my husband and I have only one child together but we are happy and we love, laugh and cry our way through life...we know through Gospel Principles that families are forever!!

    I love the idea of dating and starting a family of my own with my future husband! I want to have three children at minimum and maybe ten children at maximum (inspiration from Russell M. Nelson’s family ;))! I hope that I can endure the pain of giving birth to so many kids though.

    Our family wasn’t like this. Our family was in ignorance of the restored gospel and things such as the Family Proclamation to the World that says what strong families are built on. Including specifically ‘wholesome recreational activities’.

    Should I become a mormon

    • @ILoFoSho
      @ILoFoSho 9 років тому +1

      AsKaGangsta Uh, yeayah. Whatever outsiders can try to say about Mormons, you can't deny that Mormons definitely KNOW what they believe and their knowledge brings them happiness and makes their lives THAT much better. Anybody who says otherwise is just somebody who isn't experiencing those blessings themselves, by their own choice of course. If you're legitimately wondering about the church, as a Mormon myself I strongly encourage you to take some missionary lessons and seek your own answers as to what the truth is. You won't be dissapointed.

      Isaac Lowe Is it cool in the temple

    • @ILoFoSho
      @ILoFoSho 9 років тому +1

      AsKaGangsta It's the best. I'm going there tomorrow morning in fact. I can't quite explain *why* the temple is so amazing, but I know how it is. When you go to the temple, all your life problems become tiny and you feel completely peaceful. Just being there gives you an eternal perspective on things and it makes decisions so much easier to make and goals so much easier to achieve and I could go on for hours about how awesome the temple is. This primary song illustrates my point pretty well:
      www.lds.org/music/library/childrens-songbook/i-love-to-see-the-temple?lang=eng
      Seriously, there's no place on earth that is better to be than the temple. Maybe because everybody there has such a great spirit of love, maybe because the architecture and beauty is so amazing, most likely just because the Spirit is so strong and easy to feel there. Temple's are a blessing we've got to work for a little bit, but they're absolutely worth it.

      Isaac Lowe Can you take a picture I want to see it and I thought it was a church if its for christians

    • @ILoFoSho
      @ILoFoSho 9 років тому +1

      AsKaGangsta 'spose I could take a picture of the outside of it for ya, but I can't take pictures on the inside. Or, another way, you could just google pictures of LDS Temples and see what they look like from the inside and out.
      And I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but I'll do my best to answer! The temple is different than a church building, we have church buildings too though. Church buildings are like any other Christian church, you go there to learn and take the sacrament and everything. Temples are meant for sacred ordinances and covenants. Does that answer your question or am I being weird and totally not getting it?

      Hi there, thanks for your question. Temple garments are worn by faithful Latter-day Saints as a reminder of sacred beliefs and commitments to follow Jesus Christ. You or others interested can learn more by watching this video: ua-cam.com/video/bMutZrefILc/v-deo.html

    This is putting enormous pressure on individuals and families to pretend perfection, even with forced laughter and often forced smiles. Being human together is not a climb towards perfection but a state or unconditional grace. Im sure these are wonderful people, but it’s not right to pose as perfect Mormons or a perfect family. I’m not Mormon but I know well how unfair and damaging this portrayal is to other Mormons who suffer depression and exclusion in their fervor to “be perfect even as god is perfect.”
