Great! It looks like it would work again if you fill it again right from its emptied state. Is that right? It seems the tube would fill through the holes, pushing air down through the straw, and when the liquid goes above the straw level, the siphon would begin to function again.

I just find your video, and I look the comments, and someone suggests seeing "Pythagorean cup", so I did. But Pythagorean cup uses a "U" tube, but the author drill two holes on the straight tube. How explain this further?

Quick question, though: do you need the two holes in the test tube ot can the siphon be made without them?
It can be siphoned without the holes in the test tube, but it would be irregular and could even cut off the flow by causing back pressure. The holes just above the opening of the tube allow for a balanced flow. I'm not sure of the physics or math of WHY it works like that, but believe me it's better with the holes. :)
It would be interesting to test out both ways and see the results.

Instead of a straw, could you use a hose and revert the water back up and back in the top creating a constant flow. Out the bottom and in the top.

Why do you have to drill the holes?
I would guess to get a better, more reliable water flow. If he left the hoes out the end of the test tube may have been able to create a seal with the bottom (Top?) of the bottle, preventing water flow, or at least drastically slowing it.
The tube has to be raised a little off the bottom of the container to get water in it or, as in this example, holes.
This have been invented from Pythagoras a thousand of years ago...It's a Pythagorean cup...

This is the same technology that is used in toilets.

These type of syphons are used in toilet flush that's how u have the large flow of water cause of this syphons
Except that most toilets use a check-valve in the tank, to initiate the flush, and a float valve to shut off the water intake when the tank is filled with water. The bell siphon works automatically without these valves, (no moving parts needed and no need for gravity to drop the stopper in the tank after it has drained). Different systems, entirely.

This has many applications in technology where pouring by hand is just not possible or completely impractical. He's demonstrating a really interesting principle and is not just interested in getting the liquid into the lower container.
the point of the video was to make a siphon, not to pour a glass.
