Haha I tried to load it as you guys re-uploaded i was searching like "I knew i just seen a new video WTF" haha much love. Senpai noticed me Night made haha
Guilty pleasure sounds mean to say! I heard you can sound annoying to people if you don't sound nice have you? (As for the people Thier misfortunes I caused-the Rosetta stones)
Dude oh yeah. So much passion and better than all the food channels on tv. No joke funny thing is I started watching this channel from beyond the great wall first. Not sure how I found that channel either :)
I like it how you talk about many different things, and review the food at the same time, and not just like some tubers do that they just eat most of the time and barely comment or then just "mmmmh" "this is good" "yum" *disgusting eating noises*
I went to Singapore a while back ago, I had fish head curry and Laksa they are just delicious. Laksa is my favorite tho I can eat it everyday if could!
JJerseyGirl It's sedap! (Delicious in Malay). Finger lickin' good. Don't be afraid to make a mess, don't wear a white top, and drizzle that awesome gravy over white rice.
Hey Mike, I just wanted to let you know how much I love your channel and respect you! I saw some of your other channels, such as your pretty large one, and your vlogging channel. I just respect how much work you put into youtube, and your passion for just making these entertaining videos... I also like the food. Thanks!
Was the fan you met while you were filming the laksa. I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Singapore and finding a Bak Kut Teh joint that you enjoyed. Hope to see you again Mike!
Had this yesterday... The best way to have fish in curry, the top half of the fish head steams to flaky, moist, fragrent perfection... Yes I did eat the eyes... Also I walked to sungi laksa from muthus, only a 10 min walk, the laksa is beautiful, rich and very well seasoned. Also they way they prepare the Laksa in the bowl is very specific, they washed the noodles in the soup 4 times before actually adding the soup. There are a lot of good stalls at this place also, u can pick up some century eggs as well if he into that
Thank You for the re upload. I noticed it in the background and im glad you caught it and corrected it. PHEW! Thank you for the videos. Fish head soup is the best. I should try make some myself. Nothing like what you had of course. But can get excellent broth and meat out of them for sure.
I noticed it too because sometimes people do strange things in the background and I find it interesting to spot those in his videos but boy that was really weird to do in public (eating place).
center c Agreed. Obviously, she is still a little girl who still needs help from her grandmother. Don't wanna be too critical, but sometimes adults should have been more cautious when doing sth in public😶.
Look very goof curry fish,s head very lucky to try your good food in. Singapore they got the best food in the world you can get any kink of food you like thank you for sharing your beautiful food enjoy your holiday there thank you
It was a novelty song called "Fish Heads" by the duo Barnes and Barnes. A staple on the Dr Demento Show during the late '70's-early 80's. Easily found on UA-cam.
Hey!!! I am a singaporean:) PLEASE I BEG U PLEASEEEEE GO TO OLD AIRPORT ROAD FOOD CENTRE located at Dakota MRT station. They serve the best lor mee (braised sauce with noodles), best prawn noodles both stalls are good(tried both) really good fried hokkien mee and char kway teow (heard many people recommending it), great curry puff to end of ur meal. AND PLS OMG GET A CUP OF SOURSOP JUICE from a stall with a man moving around with his vehicle. My first time trying soursop i went there, and i kid u not.... ITS LEGENDARY:) thank you sooo much and keep adding new contents yah:) cant wait for more singapore videos:)
IMO: I have tried the lor mee, so so only not worth my time queuing for it. I have tried the hokkien mee, below average for me. noodles too dry and they only served red cut chilli instead of sambal chilli if I remember correctly. The hokkien mee + sambal chilli at whampoa market was still the best for me.
"A fish that has done some above the neck workout?" 😂 This is what I like about your comments..they are so spontaneous and true! Your vlogs are the greatest escape from reality to me..and I love to watch.. Thanks man! 👍😂
im disappointed you didn't eat the eyeball.. that's the best part of fish head curry. i mean there's always meat on a fish head but just two eyeball. it's a delicacy. when are you coming to malaysia? we have varieties of laksa such as the sour northen laksa, the creamy johor laksa, the spicy and creamy sarawak laksa. its like every state have their version of laksa.
Hi Mike, really enjoy watching your videos! And thanks for visiting Singapore! I love the peppery version of bah kut teh too. But I must say it's fish cake in the laksa and not fish tofu. 😅
OK this one had me drooling. .. yummy! I think Singapore ladies are so beautiful since I was a kid,I had a poster in my room it's how got into Asian fashion and decor. .. thanks Mike!
This is so unfair, i am watching this video on my bed at 10:15pm..and i am already hungry watching you eating.... fish head curry and laksa...both are my favs... and i admired you for being able to consume that on the same day (bear in mind, both are made from coconut milk), thanks, now i think i know what am i going to cook for tomorrow. 😊
Bro let me clarify some things for you, the bak kut teh is translated to pork rib tea however the soup does not have any tea in it! Why its called bak kut teh(pork rib tea), is due to the strong Chinese tea that is served with the dish. It is believed that consuming the tea helps to dilute the amount of fat that is consumed when eating this heavy dish.
Good video mike i really enjoy watching you try many different cuisine. If you ever visit cyprus i will be more than happy to meet you and take you to try traditional food . Keep up the good work
Very nice review. Just wanted to add that 'Sungei' is not pronounced as Son-Gay. It's more like Soon-Ngai. it's a old spelling for Sungai which means river in Malay language. And those 'clams' are actually cockles
Hey Indian aren't the first to cook fish head Curry here. It's the nonya. You should try the Glory Catering at 139 East coast Road. Don't go too late, the sold out before dinner.
Please try Malayali cuisine and Tamil cuisine while you're there! I grew up eating Malayali food so I can vouch for its taste! Fun fact: The Indian influence from the Curry Fish head comes from the style of cooking curry native to Kerala, wherein they use coconut milk in fish curries, meat curries and the iconic Nasrani* dish; Ishtu. Ishtu is eaten with a steamed crepe known as an Appam. Appam is prepared from a fermented (yeast+sugar) rice batter. The centre of the appam is soft and fluffy, and the outside is usually crisp. Other popular Malayali dishes include Nadan Pepper Chicken curry, Karimeen Pollichathu (A traditional Malayalee delicacy that is prepared from Pearlspot; a freshwater fish that lives in the backwaters of Kerala; is marinated and stir-fried with spices and served wrapped in a banana leaf with cooked rice to be eaten as a side dish) , Thalassery Biriyani, Fish Moilee, Kappa-Meen curry (Steamed pieces of tapioca served with a spicy, sardine curry. Chakka; an item prepared from jackfruit can replace tapioca to create an alternate version of this dish; that I grew up eating. ), Beef dry fry (Beef Ularthiyathu), Squid Valarthiyathu (spicy, semi-gravy squid dish). Sadhya is a traditional vegetarian feast that is eaten on festive occasions like Onam (a Malayali Harvest festival) or Vishu (the Malayali New Year). Popular street foods include Upperi (chips prepared from sliced banana plantains or jackfruit), Pazhampori (a whole plantain dipped in a batter and fried) and unniyappam (a deep fried dumpling prepared with jaggery and plantain). Thoran is a vegetable dish that can use beans, plantain, cabbage, papaya or plantain flowers (separately; prepared with coconut). Aviyal is a mixed vegetable dish that is cooked in yoghurt and uses vegetables like colocasia, drumstick, carrots, cabbage, papaya etc). Puttu Kadala (steamed rice cake with shaved coconut served with a curry prepared from black chickpeas) and Idiyappam with Egg curry are popular breakfast items. Popular dessert items are not limited to various kinds of payasam (rice pudding with jaggery) like Nei Payasam and Ada Pradhaman. In Kerala, people do not consume pork. However; beef, chicken, shellfish and fish (freshwater and seawater) are consumed and enjoyed by many people, except those who adhere to a strict vegetarian diet, due to religious beliefs. On a side note, I really enjoy the content that you make. I'm really interested in trying dishes of authentic Chinese (plus other East and South-east Asian) cuisine(s) that I have been introduced to since I subscribed to this channel! *Syrian Christians that trace their descent to the Jews that settled on the Malabar coast during the peak of the Ancient Spice Trade and trace their conversion to Syrian Christianity to Saint Thomas The Apostle who was said to have converted the local Jews.
could you imagine if you started re-watching your vids and realized the same person kept popping up in the background. how would you feel about that, and would you make a vid on your beyond science channel about it?
Another great video Mike. You mentioned your parents a couple of times in this video. Do your parents get envious of you for eating all this awesome food all over the world? You should bring them along on your next trip. Have a great time and keep the food adventures coming.
Strickly Dumpling just gotta let you know truthfully. You're gonna piss a lot of your Malaysia fans with this. Probably any dish you try in Singapore they are gonna say it originates from their country.
That meaty part of the fish head behind the gills is known to fishmongers and chefs as the collar and it's considered one of the best parts of the fish. If you go to your local fishmonger you can ask for the collar alone without the rest of the head.
You cannot compare Penang Laksa with Singapore Laksa. Both are cook differently and taste different. I love Singapore Laksa being a Malaysian but not too much on Penang Laksa. To me Penang style is asam laksa type versus Singapore curry laksa. But both still a very good food.
i love watching your videos. been watching your videos for how many months now and keep repeating it everyday. i tried your hot oil and its very good. i hope you can go to the Philippines to try some of the best food that our country were proud of.

We definitely don't have as big a stomach as you, but we'd love to bring you to some underrated hawker centres with really crazy good food. Stay awesome and we're wishing you a great 2018 ahead! :)
Mike!!! You should come to Peru!!! Once you have tried our food, nothing will be the same!!! We have a fusion of traditional Peruvian food with Chinese food, it's called Chifa, and it's the most amazing thing ever. One of the reasons why we are the Foody Paradise! Lots of love! 🇵🇪
Mike, it is so much fun to watch you enjoy all these foods...especially since, in many cases, I'll never be able to myself (massive food allergies...the shellfish, coconut & banana products here would send me straight to the hospital...once they scraped me off the floor, lol). Your videos are the next best thing...thanks so much for sharing so many food adventures! :)
Hi Mike, greetings from Singapore! watching you eat Singapore’s famous foods makes me hungry! The peppery soup for the pork ribs is more Singapore style, the herbal soup is actually Malaysian style. 😋

im disappointed you didn't eat the eyeball.. that's the best part of fish head curry. i mean there's always meat on a fish head but just two eyeball. it's a delicacy. when are you coming to malaysia? we have varieties of laksa such as the sour northen laksa, the creamy johor laksa, the spicy and creamy sarawak laksa. its like every state have their version of laksa.

Strictly Dumpling I feel you. My grandmother will happily eat the eyeball but I can't bring myself to put it in my mouth.
FISH EYE IS THE BEST PART OF THE FISH!!
This was always one of my Singapore favourites, along with Otak-Otak! God, I miss Singapore--more than Tokyo!
Great vido Mike! Had to laugh at the "I feel kut" though. Kut means hella something else in The Netherlands 😅!
*I absolutely LOVE watching your videos!* ❤️
I've been craving Muthu's for 2 years now......... 😭
Hi Mike, really enjoy watching your videos! And thanks for visiting Singapore! I love the peppery version of bah kut teh too.

Very nice review. Just wanted to add that 'Sungei' is not pronounced as Son-Gay. It's more like Soon-Ngai. it's a old spelling for Sungai which means river in Malay language. And those 'clams' are actually cockles
Bliss Catharthey it's great if you have facts to share. Otherwise, the racial slur is totally unwarranted. NOT COOL!
The irony in calling him uneducated is astounding
I noticed you put the prices for all dishes you ate cuz I commented last time. Thank you so much!
What do you think when Mike finds a salad under his table.
Lettuce pray for our foods.

Gotta say here first this isn't a hate comment just to let Strickly Dumplings know.
Haha. That's what I'm thinking too. When Mike said that's our national dish. Our beloving neighbours will be coming to claim it's theirs as usual.
Guess what the water you drink is from MALAYSIA too😂
That meaty part of the fish head behind the gills is known to fishmongers and chefs as the collar and it's considered one of the best parts of the fish. If you go to your local fishmonger you can ask for the collar alone without the rest of the head.

棉花糖妹 NiniAnnie growing up eating northern malaysia laksa! and also laksam and johorean laksa. damn good
You cannot compare Penang Laksa with Singapore Laksa. Both are cook differently and taste different. I love Singapore Laksa being a Malaysian but not too much on Penang Laksa. To me Penang style is asam laksa type versus Singapore curry laksa. But both still a very good food.
Got to agree. I always go to malaysia just to eat their curry. They put way more coconut milk inside. Sinful but YUMMY
James Lai not compare ok is just a suggestion

Nissin instant cup noodles in Laksa flavor pretty pretty yummy too. Found that in Singapore tooo
Mike!!! You should come to Peru!!! Once you have tried our food, nothing will be the same!!! We have a fusion of traditional Peruvian food with Chinese food, it's called Chifa, and it's the most amazing thing ever. One of the reasons why we are the Foody Paradise! Lots of love! 🇵🇪
But your vids are legendary it is so good . Probably best UA-cam ever
It's amazing how you are not sweating eating all that spicy food
*Mikey another fantastic food tour thanks brother!*
Thanks for watching!
That rice looks excellent
