She found her own style! 👏🏼 Kylie is now over 50 and still having a great career! Looking better each year! Madonna is the Queen and she’s the princess! She always admitted it! Not a problem here! We have all grown up! God, she got so much grief over the years! It must have been torture to get constantly asked that question! It’s now laughable! Madonna was already well-established as the Queen of Pop (rightfully so) when I was born... Being American means I grew up knowing only her.. It wasn't until 1998 that I started listening to Kylie as well. Even then, there was no comparison to me as I loved both in their own right. And then Britney came along, and that was a much closer comparison to level of success in American music. But I'll be honest, Kylie really held it together through the years. I would have lost my mind to have it brought up so constantly. And I feel like no one realizes that most artists have no control over what what they become. As an artist, you seem to get the pick your genre of music (and even that could change), and the rest is all controlled anyway. But kudos on the vid for finding all of these references. I love both.

I am a huge Madonna fan but there are things simply Kylie Minogue can do that Madonna can't. Kylie's vocals alone is better than Madonna especially live. Madonna has kept reinventing and trying different things genres and collaborating with different artists. Kylie has stuck to the dance pop bandwagon which suited her very well. Madonna has always been provocative with her work but Kylie remained sexy and yet conservative.
I recently became a big fan of both artists. It's been great to discover her catalog. But I didn't realize she was compared to Janet and Madonna. I didn't realize she was that big overseas. Her music is so hit or miss here in America. I remember at a big college dance club night, they introduced the European Madonna lol! We were all like what?? The real issue is that there's so much competition here. She's more of an independent artist in the US. I remember when the fever came out. They had a huge Tower Records promotion in Chicago. It was huge, but I did not care for it when it came out. I also did not like Body Language, they really pushed that hard on TRL and the other music teen shows. It sounded too slow compared to what everyone else was doing when it came out. I wasn't a big fan until X was really promoted on Itunes/Zune. It was heavily promoted online. But again, I did not see any TV coverage of it. I really liked it! It was so different, and I thought it was light years ahead of what everyone else came out with. Lady Gaga then came out right after this with a similar look and It really took off in the clubs/parties here in the US. I forgot how much I liked Kylie when she came out with Disco last year! Her 94 CD is really good, and I forgot how much I liked Impossible Princess. She's got a great catalog.
Madonna has and always will be 'My Queen' and Kylie 'My Princess'. I have seen them both perform/speak on more than one occasion and they take command of everything with their star power. I LOVE & ADORE them both. To watch them perform a fun, energetic, uplifting dance song would, as Kylie stated, stop the orbit of the Earth. I could then die a very happy man.

Madonna was already well-established as the Queen of Pop (rightfully so) when I was born... Being American means I grew up knowing only her.. It wasn't until 1998 that I started listening to Kylie as well. Even then, there was no comparison to me as I loved both in their own right. And then Britney came along, and that was a much closer comparison to level of success in American music. But I'll be honest, Kylie really held it together through the years. I would have lost my mind to have it brought up so constantly. And I feel like no one realizes that most artists have no control over what what they become. As an artist, you seem to get the pick your genre of music (and even that could change), and the rest is all controlled anyway. But kudos on the vid for finding all of these references. I love both.
I agree. She's very hit or miss her in America. I remember that she had alot of promo for all the lovers and her can't get you out of my head cd. I didn't care for it at first, but loved her 2004 cd. I think it was honestly just wrong timing for her stuff here in the US imho. Love her stuff.

She's the most beautiful woman, seen her up close too! S Kylie has been handed her career from SAW & has little input in the creative process. Seen both live over the years & there's no comparison - even when Kylie copied Blonde Ambition outfits for "finer feelings". Madonna's the better by far. Her shows are in a league of their own.

She's also a decade younger meaning her voice is, too. Madonna was born to be a star, no doubt & worked to get there.. Madonna wore a t-shirt with Kylie's & publicly praised her by saying shes is strong, tremendously talented & a fighter whilst, Kylie slated Madonna publicly, only to copy her two years later. You can't say Kylie's less competitive than Madonna, your just assuming. Madonna handled things with class, fyi. Madonna revolutionised the live show, she's a phenomenal dancer, creator & choreographer -from the Virgin Tour til Madam X - They're all groundbreaking tours, which have forever refined the art form. Kylie stays in a high register when she's live, with a lot of pre recorded vocals. Madonna has been sick recently but her voice was powerful on the two nights I saw her on Madam X. There's no hypocrisy on my part at all, if you read my post actually. History will remember Madonna as the biggest selling female artist & Kylie, as probably not much at all. Madonna's got a further demographic & geographical reach.. Now if you don't mind I happen to be the carer of a elderly gentleman & I'm sure with current world events you have priorities too. The issue with M fans is that they really believe she’s the creator of everything. They can’t see how much Madonna took from other artists before she became Madonna (nothing wrong about it, every artist has their own inspiration).
As a fan of 60’s-70’s-80’s music, I can clearly see Kylie’s inspiration on artist such as Kraftwerk, Prince, Pet Shop Boys, Bee Gees, Little Eva, Giorgio Moroder/Donna Summer, Gary Numan, New Order, Abba, Olivia Newton-John, David Bowie... and some of these artists also happened to inspire Madonna. M fans need to understand that before Madonna there were so many things going on in the musical scene.
So, was Kylie inspired by Madonna?. Yes, specially during the late 80’s and the early 90’s.
And was Madonna inspired by Kylie?. Yes, in some point of her career during the late 90’s and 00’s

I am a huge Madonna fan but there are things simply Kylie Minogue can do that Madonna can't. Kylie's vocals alone is better than Madonna especially live. Madonna has kept reinventing and trying different things genres and collaborating with different artists. Kylie has stuck to the dance pop bandwagon which suited her very well. Madonna has always been provocative with her work but Kylie remained sexy and yet conservative.

I recently became a big fan of both artists. It's been great to discover her catalog. But I didn't realize she was compared to Janet and Madonna. I didn't realize she was that big overseas.
Her music is so hit or miss here in America. I remember at a big college dance club night, they introduced the European Madonna lol! We were all like what?? The real issue is that there's so much competition here. She's more of an independent artist in the US. I remember when the fever came out. They had a huge Tower Records promotion in Chicago. It was huge, but I did not care for it when it came out. I also did not like Body Language, they really pushed that hard on TRL and the other music teen shows. It sounded too slow compared to what everyone else was doing when it came out. I wasn't a big fan until X was really promoted on Itunes/Zune. It was heavily promoted online. But again, I did not see any TV coverage of it. I really liked it! It was so different, and I thought it was light years ahead of what everyone else came out with. Lady Gaga then came out right after this with a similar look and It really took off in the clubs/parties here in the US. I forgot how much I liked Kylie when she came out with Disco last year! Her 94 CD is really good, and I forgot how much I liked Impossible Princess. She's got a great catalog.

As a long time fan of both Madonna & Kylie I’m able to say that they’ve inspired each other and Kylie has been enormously accused of trying to be Madonna when they could not be more different. Obviously Kylie wasn’t happy with that back in the 90’s but who would? I love how they respect each other and any feud is definitely in the fans/press imaginations. Just imagine yourselves being compared to someone all the time...must be annoying even if it’s your best friend. Madonna’s the queen and Kylie’s the princess. There’s no more to it.

There was no pete waterman manufacturing her or Madonna figure to look up to back in the late 70's. Madonna is the most talented person out there who changed the music industry on her own back.
