PRESIDENT CHEHAB - NO SOUND

Though sections of the Lebanon continue in a state of unrest, the new President Fouad Chehab appears in Beirut with the minimum display of arms. An attempt to encourage the rebels by example to submit their grievances to the government and to refrain from violence. In support of his policy Pres. Chehab has appointed the famous rebel leader Rashed Karomi as Premier. But rioting continues in the ancient capital necessitating barricades and 30 have been killed in recent clashes.
