I think this is my favorite type of spinning. The motion and flow is very meditative and relaxing. You don't get the same type of flow with other forms of spinning in the same way.
Estou encantada com este fuso mas ainda não conseguir achar pra comprar Gosto de praticar pra relaxar antes de dormir me faz muito bem obrigado por compartilhar
I wanted to see what it would be like to use a supported spindle by using my turkish on the table......really not the same experience but I do want a support spindle. And one of those bowls you used in a different video. It had a hole for the tip to go in
Do you switch hands? I've seen you flick the spindle with both your right and left hand.... which is your dominate hand? Care to help me understand which hand should be doing which thing... ?
P Ramilahc Yes I switch hands (I’m a leftie). I always spin clockwise with my right hand as spinning hand and counter-clockwise with my left hand as spinning hand. This has ro do with ergonomics. I always teach my students to learn to use both hands as spinning hands. That means they also learn how to handle the fiber with both hands. I think this benefits learning. Yes, they are something special. Björn makes them after my instructions and they are perfectly balanced and spin forever. Especially with the glass inlay in the newer pucks. His webshop isn't up and running yet, but you can contact him via his instagram account, instagram.com/bjorn_peck_woodworking/
I like the quiet place I find when I spin, yes. But with the water running and burbling like that, I would constantly be finding myself thinking, “I have to find a restroom.”
What a tranquil video!
I too find the feel of thread running through my fingers very relaxing 🌸🌼
Yes...
I feel this when I crochet, but I really want to learn to spin.
Thank you 😊
Mmm... sounds lovely!
Beautiful. Thank you ❤
Thank you for watching! 😊
Absolutely beautiful: your spinning, the camerawork, the text, and sounds. Thank you very much!
Gale Roanoake Thank you! 😀

Thank you! 🌸

I agree, although I find serenity in all my spinning tools, there is something special in the supported spindle that I don't want to be without.
So lovely and inspirational. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😊

You can support a Turkish spindle, but as you say, it wouldn't be the same as spinning on a supported spindle.

What spindle is that? It's lovely.
Stashaholic It is, isn’t it! The spindle is made by Björn Peck, a Swedish master wood turner. You can find him on Instagram.
Of all the supported spindles I've been looking at, this spindle struck a cord with me. Does the maker sell these spindles online?

Good thing then I went before I sat down by the creek!
