I prefer the original Beethoven!! There are enough works for smaller groups to perform.... It is like Richard Claderman playing the "Waldstein"..... Not for me ,thanks!(I know that I am a snob!)
I think this sort of stuff is truly in the spirit of Beethoven. He loved playing with themes and variations. I for the most part don't enjoy full orchestral works performed by smaller groups, to me it sounds weird. Yet there's smaller pieces of this symphony that stood out to me because I heard it this way. The first movement was quite beautiful. It told a story of strife and wandering. I really loved that arrangement. I don't know how I feel about the choir. I gotta think on that one a bit, haha.
Astonishingly enough, this Beethovens Eroica seems to be very well suited for also a small chamber ensemble. For example the Marcia funebre is not at all mistreated with the flute as leading instrument. It is just about turning my years to the right frequency...
Siempre Gracias,DW.
Con mucho gusto! 😊

Good try! I prefer the original though.
That's so true but it's still cute.
Tremendous! I like the first movement most. It feels like four young partiots are struggling for their heroic mission which is to be a catastrophe.
Wow, powerful, zestful, beautiful
at 7:15 the real fire starts, what a performance we got in here from those outstanding musicians. A real Bravissimo
Without piano the simphony is best

I love Beethoven music!!
Klasse!!!
Kinda intensified. Long beloved masterpiece where all the missing parts simply vibrate in the soul. You know? PWG
