- In this video series I am going to show you how to install, configure and manage VMware vSphere 6.5. In the first video from the series we are installing the VMware ESXi 6.5 host.
Important note:
1.Check if you hardware is compatible with VMware ESXi OS - www.vmware.com...
2. Download the proper ESXi image for your hardware.

Can you explain your setup, like what os you are using, what software you are using for your vms, as I get you are using a vm with esxi?

This Is not about how to install from the beginning. You say that you install on your virtual machine. Thats not a beginning? How do I start even with VMware? Do I install windows furst or is there a Install from scrach (format disk)???
He is not using Windows in his demonstration of VMware ESXi. He installed VMware ESXi on a server which has no operating system yet. In his case, the server is virtual; you may use either a virtual or physical server.

you can sign up for a VMware account, and as long as you don't need vCenter, you can get a free license for ESXi. Granted the free license does have it's limitation (google what they are, i don't know what they are off hand), but i'm currently running ESXi for a home server and have yet to hit any limitation

Thanks for tutorial and link. As I understood we should install: VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi ISO) image (Includes VMware Tools), am I right? Is there a free version for learning purpose?
